Infernal Affairs is such a superior film. I hated how Scorsese didn't really acknowledge in the credits that The Departed took a lot of elements from IA.
It's been so long since I've seen Infernal Affairs, but I'm pretty sure...

That the love interest character in The Departed doesn't even exist in Infernal Affairs. Which is good. I mean, what are the odds that the fiancee of a Costello-gang-member-turned-cop would have an affair with a cop-turned-Costello-game-member? I mean, it's not like the two male characters know each other or anything. It's by complete coincidence that that happens, and it's so entirely unrealistic and unnecessary that it's hard for me to get past. There's also some major plotholes in The Departed as well that drive me nuts.

Don't get me wrong, I kind of enjoy the Departed. The acting is top-notch and I love the Alec Baldwin and Mark Wahlberg characters. But the story just doesn't hold together if you analyze it even a little bit. Like I said, it's been years since I've seen Infernal Affairs, but I recall it holding up so much better. If it truly is coming to Netflix next month I will definitely rewatch it.

I haven't even watched The Departed myself--my dad saw it after IA and told me how much worse it felt by comparison. Your spoiler further proves that point.

I don't know if I'm reading your complaint wrong but..
Wasn't she a psychologist or whatever assigned specifically to work with people from the police force? It wasn't some coincendence that they both met her.

The Departed was a great movie imo. I think all the actors nailed their roles.

I think you're right, I haven't seen The Departed in a long time either. That changes it from a "huge" coincidence to just a "big" one, which is a little bit more palatable. Still not a big fan of the character though.

Finally getting back to gaming tonight.  Going to wrap up Korra and decide if I want to go for the plat.  Therm's comments on the tutorial trophy not unlocking are kind of making me weary, I noticed that that trophy didn't unlock for me either and I have no idea what I missed.

Almost surely will spend some time with Shadow Warrior as well.  Need to keep going on that one.

Did you beat the game? The trophy should unlock after chapter 8.

1st, Who wears "lingerie, swimsuits, pasties, and undergarments" on Twitch? I've never seen that. It's always girls in tank tops or t-shirts that are low cut to show off cleavage. No way they can ban that.

2nd, Why are they doing this? Every stream I've ever seen that was actually popular enough to charge for subscriptions was a hot girl's stream. These are the streams that make some money for Twitch. Why the hell do they care if girls are showing off cleavage if it's making them money? As long as it's not porn, why bother?

3rd, this sentence. "It's a practice that's distracted from the intended goal of Twitch for too long, and some critics in the community have been vocal about asking Twitch to take steps against it." Who are these critics complaining? I'm guessing fucking losers who hate seeing pretty girls that they know they'd never have a shot with so they are crying about it "distracting from the intended goal of Twitch" because they're so salty about their own failures in life. These types of petty basement dwelling crybabies are even worse than the delusional retards who actually pay money and donate to these chicks because they think they have a chance with them.

I didn't even know this was an issue. I know I have seen some streams mentioned here where girls with large personalities had camera angles to assist with viewing, but is it so common they needed to make a rule about it? Plus, why on earth would anyone in the community give a shit really? Do they think those viewers are magically going to decide to watch a pimple faced mumblers stream instead if those broadcasters have to cover up? I can understand a no nudity rule since twitch doesnt want to be chaturbate for gamers, but I am just not sure why people feel the need to get offended over what someone else does.

ETA: More or less ninja'd by Tyler...

The tutorials are scattered through the game, with most being at the front. There's one right near the end of the game as well, when you go into Avatar mode for the first time, I believe. I actually didn't even realize until I looked into the trophy that those were tutorials at all. It's the stuff where you start the game, for example, and on the top left it shows what buttons trigger what moves. I thought it was just a list of controls for how to play, not something interactive that triggered a trophy. :wall:

The "found all items" trophy is pretty lame because the items that drop are somewhat random. Every item has a class, and the items you get are dependant upon the difficulty level, chest type, and how quickly you break them open. The higher-level stuff is a bit more predictable as there are specific chests you can target, but the lower level stuff is going to be more random, though also more likely to drop randomly on your playthrough.

The cabbages trophy is pretty easy because you can just go to a specific point in the game, perform an action, get killed, and repeat until you have 10 cabbages.

There's some grinding for the finishing move and spirit bending stuff, but there are easy and fairly obvious places to do it. You shouldn't have too much trouble getting enough money for all the talismans while chasing the other stuff, but the talismans you want to focus on are the 2x power talisman, the one that keeps you constantly chi-charged, the one that makes you heal, and either the 2x spirit or the shadow fist talisman. With 2x power and the chi-charged one you'll slaughter everything you come across easily, which makes extreme mode and opening chests a piece of cake.

The playstationtrophies guide is actually pretty decent despite being up so quick. That should help you out quite a bit.

The issue people have with the trophy is that if you miss one, there's no way to tell. If he's been hitting them all then yes he'll get it by the end of the game. If he missed one, though, the only way to get it is to start a new game and run through until he trips the missing tutorial.

Even with a new game it doesn't reset the tutorial list, which is nice, but if he missed a tutorial pretty late then he'd have to run through the game until that point to get it.

I don't understand why people feel the need to go to these streams for cleave and tight tanks. I mean, they know there's lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lotsa and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of kinda porn and porn and cleave on the Internet right?

There's still not enough.

This Twitch discussion reminds me of something. My kids found something sub accounts can't do (I have PS+, but they do not). They can't stream on Twitch. It puts up an error saying sub-accounts can't stream. Well, if they really want to do it they're going to have to ask for PS+ for Xmas. More likely, though, I'd buy them an Elgato and let them get around it that way. In the long run that's going to be cheaper.

My 2 cents. I really enjoyed both IA and The Departed. The Departed is in my top 10 of American made films and IA is probably my top 5 overall.

Yeah I know. Tyler said he hasn't got the trophy yet but on his trophy card it says he only beat ch.7.

Tyler, not sure if you were being sarcastic or not, but there are tons of twitch streamers big enough to be able to offer subs that aren't filled with boobs. A bunch of Dota and LoL steamers, speed runners, and then youtubers like northernlion and rockleesmile

Haha yeah I know there are others. I just don't watch any of them because they are generally the two games you just mentioned and I couldn't care less about them. Certain games like that do have huge ass followings and do probably make more than the boobie girls do on Twitch.

The two Youtubers I mentioned are fun and they do a lot of indie stuff. They do a 3 hour scheduled show every MWTh starting at 3 Pacific. Good time if you are looking for something that isn't Dota, LoL, or boobies (but really, why is anybody going to twitch for boobies?)

Reset my browser and now CAG is mobile again!

Also I ordered an Amazon fire stick...I need to double check if our tv has USB slot on it though...:/

Question for you guys, anyone here live in Virginia or know virginia really well? If so please let me know thanks
Used to date a girl in Richmond, so here's what I know about Virginia:

  1. Richmond sucks.
  2. Don't speed in Virginia.
