You can't really make yourself less vulnerable other than hiding. While doing templar, this isnt a problem since while cheesing the entire team is in one spot, largely unaffected by any of the ads or templar.

If you are a Sunbro who has decided to take a nap, before resurrecting yourself if you go into the menu and switch off fireborn- exit the menu. You can still press L1R1 to revive, but there will be no super activating animation and you won't be in radiance. You will still have a fully charged super and be alive again, allowing for you to seek cover and turn fireborn back on if you want another mulligan. So broken! Pretty classy on hard mode to say the least. Works in good combination with Apotheosis Veil, so that you res yourself, seek cover, and activate super and regen if absolutely needed.

Ha, Ha I have the void vestment, veil, praxic, and sunbreakers. I've just been using the sunbreakers in control, sold it to back to BB for 38, and never bothered playing around with the rest. I'll test this stuff out again when I get another ps3 copy of destiny for todays BB sales glitch.

also does the above work in conjunction with the voidfang vestment grenade regen?

Hmmmm so basically once you get a super once you have unlimited revives so long as you can pause a second? Damn. That is quite a glitch. Definitely one I may want to take advantage of for Hard Mode... hahah : P

 
I have never heard of that Sunsinger glitch... we should do our best not to advertise it to others and keep it on the down low so it doesn't get patched right away! ; P

^ Yeah, what glitch? I've been playing Destiny so much I've been ignoring CAG deals!

Edit: All I can find is that GCU is $30 when you buy a game that costs $39.99 or more. I don't see that as a glitch though. And since I already have GCU and don't need to buy Destiny it doesn't really apply to me anyway. Yeah, sure, I could extend my GCU...

I hope not since I finally got the Atheon cheese dance down pat. I did it once with unlimited grenades with my Sunsinger with another guy helping me (after the damn portal team took like 20 tries to get through the first portal just ONCE - this was with randoms). And then last night I did it solo with my Titan (using Armamentarium for the second grenade). By solo I mean I was the only one in the Raid (just from the Atheon checkpoint of course). That was pretty sweet.

I used the sunbro glitch to help Krazy get past the templar twice, worked like a charm.

I collected the 50 ghosts for that trophy. now the only trophy i need is the one where we clear the raid with nobody dying. -_-

Im at the point where i just do daily, weekly, raid, nightfall, random event, and a few bounties that dont take that much time. I dont even like doing the patrol bounties anymore. PVP is okay sometimes, but im not looking forward to jumping into it when i boot the game up. Though if they make iron banner gear level up to 30 light then i would be really into playing that. So im really just here for the bigger stuff now.

 
Got my hunter to 29 and my Titan to almost 14... Not bad for a few hours...most of it spent chasing spirit flowers to upgrade my raid boots.
 
After getting the same goddam exotic bounties 10 tens time in a row, I got two new ones (Pocket Infinity and Super Good Advice). Decided to go with Pocket Infinity since my vault is stockpiled with fusion rifles waiting to be used. Hopefully I get Super Good Advice next time it comes around. 

 
7th might have to change his name. He got Atheon off the ledge on his first try when I asked him to help me out on my hunter earlier. Not as lucky on the drops as I was on my titan though. Got some mats and my 3rd copy of the ship. I guess all my guardians can at least fly through the universe in style now.
 
Has anyone seen this? According to this, i really only have to try to beat the oracle and templar part with my warlock and titan in hopes to get my boots. There really is no reason for me to beat atheon on hard except for the hunter helmet, which i cant do on my own. LOL.

Im downloading a destiny update, does this fix the atheon trick? Any idea if the templar trick still works?

I got a package from the postmaster with 3 Jackolytes in it, what the hell does this do?

I cant view bungie site from my pc cos its too old.

Details on the new patch that just went live:

Summary

This update makes Destiny a more stable experience for all players. We’re also changing the player experience in the Raid to ensure that the activity provides an endgame challenge that meets project goals for the intended level of difficulty.

General

Fixed an issue in which multiple errors reported with Zebra error codes

Errors previously reporting as Zebra will now display as their own separate codes

Fixed a rare issue related to being Kicked To Login repeatedly

Fixed a rare issue that resulted in a Kick To Orbit reported with the Cockatoo error code

Servers

Fixed an issue where some players would occasionally be erroneously kicked at the beginning of an activity due to a server error 

Increased protection against account corruption

Raid

Fixed an issue where Atheon was not choosing random targets for teleport through the timestream during the final encounter on the Vault of Glass

Fixed an exploit where Atheon could be forced off his platform

More updates are to follow as we continue to support Destiny. Future enhancements being worked on include Exotic Weapon tuning, new features for voice communication between matchmade teammates, and the ability to hold more Bounties in your pocket at any time.

HOW? I have put so much time into this game and have never once received an exotic bounty!

I FINALLY got my first one the other day. Of course it isnt on my main Warlock or even my level Warlock alternate. Nope, I got it on my new low level Hunter hahah what the heck is up with that? That system makes no sense seeing as all of my friends pretty much already have every exotic gun from the bounties.

 
I think the new item is supposed to give you a pumpkin head for halloween...

I have gotten 4 exotic bounties. I do a lot of vanguard bounties and they just pop up when turning them in. I have only completed the machine gun bounty...So extra slots would be nice since I have 3 out of 5 taken up with incomplete exotic bounties.Two are going to require pvp...maybe I'll give them a go when iron banner comes back since the gear is worthwhile this time and I know lots of you guys will be in there. I suck when I play lone wolf style...I die so much.

The other one I need to just grind kills in nightfall...200 is a pain in the butt with a fusion rifle.

Its for the fusion rifle, so you have to kill with a fusion rifle. If I only had the mythoclast...I got the shader :p

Good news is its a new week so I can try again :)

The easiest way to get an exotic bounty is to turn in multiple bounties in at the same time. The chances to get one go up with each number of bounties you turn in (e.g. turning in 2 bounties is lower than turning in 4 or 5). I have all but two of the exotic bounty weapons from doing this and have cancelled a few I had that were duplicate.

It may not be 100% proven but in my tests it's worked extremely well. My friends and I have even had to work on two bounties at once due to the frequency we have been able to get them.

There are more rules to it than that. You have to be:

  1. In a Nightfall game
  2. In a darkness zone
  3. Using a fusion rifle
  4. Must be the person that gets the kill

Oh had no idea I'm on that part too and was messing around in the nightfall the other day and got it about 50% done

Aren't you the dude with 3 Vex Mythoclasts? Man, you don't need exotic bounties lol

I've noticed that i usually received the exotic bounties after strikes and crucible marathons but idk the connection
 
Not gonna lie, the Atheon fix ticks me off more this week than it would've last just because I got so good at doing it with my titan :lol: .

For now, this makes me not care about full raid runs just because of my back luck with loot drops.  Unless, I find a consistent raid group, I might just look for people who want to go up to the gorgon chest.  And if I have the free time then I'll try to finish the rest.

Because, I kid you not, my raid loot from 8 runs (4 legit, other 4 sketchy to incomplete) has been: 1 Atheons Epilogue, 2 found truth, 2 shiny skirts, 3 ships and various shards & mats.  Yeah Bungie, that's REALLY good motivation to want to keep raiding VoG :roll:

Xur shows me more love and I gotta buy that... come on Bungie, stop pimping out Xur and improve the loot drop in VoG. I don't want to end up on COPs... what would my mother think

Bet Bungie didn't like how killing Atheon became streamlined, so they decided to implement the random teleports and pass it off as a bug fix. :lol: 

 
I did the nightfall with my titan and got tha Gjallarhorn, then i got the exotic bounty for the Machine Gun, think its called Voice in the Wilderness. So today has been a good day so far. Hopefully i can get some raid boots tonight in the raid.

Pretty much, but who's fault is it really...

we're going on 10 years since Halo 2 and Bungie still can't design a fun, challenging boss fight. Heck, the walker kills are more entertaining and that's just a mid-boss.

 
Did the weekly first since some of the guys I usually run with were getting ready to do it when I logged on and had already done the Nightfall. Got the coins and 3 blue engrams. Did the Nightfall after with randoms and got another 9 coins. Then I decided to be a good guy and help some random guy in the tower who invited me and asked for help with Xyor. He got disconnected about halfway through the boss fight and I waited about a half hour and he never made it back, so I just finished the strike. Not the greatest start to the week.

I now have a hard raid checkpoint at the oracles with each of my 3 characters. If anyone knows how to cheese this with vision of confluence/icebreaker let me know if you want in. I just want to do it from this point until after the two gorgon chests for the rewards. Im still down to beating the raid on normal too. But hard mode gives you more drops, so i think more chance to get armor.

Got a regular group that's pretty good at beating the oracles and the Templar on hard. Can show you the way we do it if you're on later tonight.

If I'm on when you do it I would be down to help out. Supposed to do a hard run with my usual raid group tonight, but I might not be able to make it and even if I do I would still have my Titan left to do some hard mode stuff on. I cheesed it twice last week, so I have some idea what I am doing.

Also I think it's just that hard gives you the hard and normal drops if you haven't completed normal yet not that hard gives more drops by itself. I have read some speculation that if you do hard without doing normal that it pulls all of your drops from the hard loot table though.

 
So we can't cheese Atheon anymore...well I already have 2 Myths and 2 helmets for my Titans...I don't think investing time on hard is worth it at this point  :nottalking:

 
Annoying night...got to the boss of weekly and invited some help and got him down to nothing and we wiped. One of the guys was a 27 and I think that was what was the problem. This week is no joke on 28...Looking for a team of 28 and up for weekly and nightfall...

After that a random raid group invited me and we got to the gorgon cave but we didn't know the way out :p

Got lots of energy and a few shards so not a total loss. I guess I have a checkpoint now and could solo to out of this part?

Unfortunately I don't think that works. The little cave entrance will probably be sealed with less than 3 people. There was a video someone posted of a 2-person Raid run and they could do everything except this - they needed to get a 3rd to get out of the Gorgon area. The cave exit is just a solid wall without them.

That is very unfortunate because I suck at the platforming part right after the Gorgons. I'd like to be able to do those at my own pace ;).

You should be able to solo to the chest that is towards the back right though and at least get those shards/energy (that's all it will be). So you can take your time doing that part - then you can just find someone continuing with a Gatekeeper save and you'll just miss one chest (and get to skip the chasm jumping part).

Our Xbox One group ran through the Raid pretty efficiently tonight. It only took us about an hour (and we wasted more time on the Gorgons than usual). And to top it off we were carrying a level 26 (someone's friend). I got the last armor piece I needed: gloves. So now I can get to 30 finally! I only ever cheesed it on Hard once and I got nothing special out of that so it sucks I missed out on more of that when I had the chance. Oh well...

For the Nightfall, just stay up top at the end. If you have 3, have one stay completely outside (where the group of Goblins meet you on the way to the Nexus). He can take on the respawning Minotaur from the back, with help from the other 2 if needed. The other 2 snipe the boss from up high. It helps to have something like Atheon's Epilogue. I'm going to try to solo it with my Warlock later (the revive helps).

I ran the Nightfall (lvl 28) on solo and all I got was a legendary hand cannon (The Chance) /sigh. I kind of feel like you should at least get two slot rewards for doing a Nightfall. Although receiving the XP bonus until the next reset is helpful. It seems that often the effort isn't worth the reward thanks to the oh-so-exciting RNG system, but somehow it keeps bringing you back for more punishment fun. :roll:

I'll be running through the weekly strike solo in the next 10 minutes or so. If anyone wants to join along the way (PS4: Deuterium). I won't have a mic on since it's late.

Mind sharing an oracle checkpoint on hard? :)

I've done hard raid with a several groups and confluxes always gives us problems. I wouldn't mind skipping it, especially since it doesn't even give loot.
 
Awe man...well I think we got 2 chests already and were just trying to gtfo of there. The leader didnt really know where the exit was and the only method they wanted to try was EVERYBODY RUN and that got old real fast.

I died a lot on that my first time trying the platforming thing but if look to the right there are some spots you can jump down to, then you just wait for those lower two platforms to show up and thats how I made it to the ledge with my hunter and my crap jumping skills.

Sure man, you are free to join us go through it too. I still want to go through the oracle/templar/gorgon areas with my other 2 characters. So the more people that can help the better. If you just want to grab it and run thats cool too.

Finished the night fall with both characters, the whole team just needs to jet behind the pillar or at least 2 of them need to be there and the other can be on the left side behind the spot where no one can hit you. But if you and the other 2 can get behind the main rock right under the first fall, you will be golden.
