What'd I tell you?Id rather talk about Luftrausers.

How'd you like the resurgence of traps in the later chapters? Bombs tucked in corners, acid tripwires (I never actually got fooled by that one), and spinning blade roombas. I'm sure you were squealing with delight.I just want to talk about how great the evil within is today.
I wouldn't expect one either. The guys at Vlambeer are always crazy busyI asked the dev about Luftrausers' glitched trophies about an hour ago. No reply yet. Not really expecting one.![]()
I think the complaints leveled at the game are totally valid (even tyler's).Tyler's certainly not going to do it, so it's up to you, me, and Velo.
-How about that arena in Ch. 15 (plus the "final" hallway after the two Keepers), which was easily the coolest-looking part of the whole game, artistically speaking?
-How awesome are the Keepers? Answer: SO awesome.
-The Agony Crossbow is easily the one of the best weapons in a third-person shooter.
-I don't think I've seen such excellent lighting in a game before TEW's.
I'm definitely going to treasure its plat when I get it.
I'm probably gonna play this game just once, and probably on casual like mpaullin, but you guys have definitely convinced me to try it. Sounds like a good time.I think the complaints leveled at the game are totally valid (even tyler's).
spoilered for long
- it's unfair: you'll fail parts because of randomness, cheap AI (roomba traps), one hit kills galore, and unbelievable hit detection problems will make you throw ammo away more than you can shake a stick at. I can't count the number of times I had a shot lined up and the bullet was mysteriously deflected by an invisible part of the environment. there are times when you shoot an explosive bolt in to a group of enemies and it just won't hit them. I actually shot an explosive bolt in to the back of a chainsaw guy and it didn't go off. at all. just sat in his back glowing.
- camera: like many parts of the game, it seems like the camera is a bit of a troll on the player. black bars narrowing visibility, zoomed in at times awkwardly, etc. most of the time it didn't bug me, but there were times when I scowled at it.
- not survival horror: yeah, it's not. or at least it is as much as re4. developers need to stop using that term unless the game involves creeping around on your tiptoes and your only weapon against terrifying monsters is a broken wooden spoon. or whatever.
- graphical issues: hell yeah there is. name a technical complaint about graphics performance and it's in this game. apparently without the day one patch it's an even bigger disaster, running at a lower resolution with a struggle to reach 30fps.
but man, if you can look past all that shit, it is fan-ing-tastic. ridiculous over-the-top plot, a fun variety of well designed pain in the ass enemies, terrific boss fights, and a functional arsenal. the addition of stealth, which seems like a total piece of crap idea in the beginning, ends up being such an incredibly good idea by the end of the game. being able to switch up between sneak kill / stand your ground / traps in an area is exquisite.
like I said before, the enemy trap placement is actually a work of art. the game is a huge troll against the player, and they get super creative with it. forcing you to choose between stealthing past a bomb, trying to disarm it and possibly failing, or shooting it and maybe attracting enemies is one of the greatest most irritating things I've seen in a game. brilliant. and awful. I can't believe they gave monsters agony bows/explosive bolts that seem to auto-hit. hilarious.
and the last chapter is EXACTLY what I like out of a game ending - you feel like a well prepared bad ass that can handle the tough situation after all the chaos you've been through and, even though you're probably scraping by in terms of ammo, you have enough tools to be able to change up strategy whenever you need to. only have 3 bullets, a match and a flash bolt left against 7 dudes? yeah, no problem.
plus it has a silly final boss that entertains immensely. very appropriate and appreciated. all the nutty shit you get for beating the game under different conditions is a nice touch too. akumu mode is a great addition, it fits right in with the game's asshole nature.
my final time was just under 20h with 167 deaths (survival, no upgrades).
I never said it was perfect, but since I'm Vig and all, I wasn't really bothered by the negative things you pointed out (I never had an explosive bolt attach to someone and not go off, though--I admit that that's pretty bad); in particular, I loved the claustrophobic approach to the camera. Sure, I'm not a fan of the fact that the ending is DLC-bait, and I wish Chapters 11 & 12 had been done differently (i.e., without zombie gunners *groan*), but it's a great game overall.I think the complaints leveled at the game are totally valid (even tyler's).

Didnt buy a ps3/ps4 to be aing indie machine, so hope this doesnt continue.
I feel the same. Just got a PS4 last week. Thankfully I paid nothing out of pocket for it but I'd like to turn it on before the year is over.
Boo de-Xbox owners are super pissed about the Destiny DLC news.
Shore ill go.Wednesday raid group needs one more since one of the regulars can't join. Anyone want to roll with us tonight? 10:15-10:30EST is our start time.
D,:Uncharted on crushing is stoopid easy.
This and destiny too right? :lol:I think with all The Evil Within talk in this thread I played it through about 5 times at this point.
Psh.. TEW has nothing on the Destiny discussion. Or football.. or Taco Bell.I think with all The Evil Within talk in this thread I played it through about 5 times at this point.
Sounds like we need a neato collage of all things off-topic including said games, food, and sports for 2014. Who's good at photoshop?Psh.. TEW has nothing on the Destiny discussion. Or football.. or Taco Bell.
And are youbois quoting non-regulars again?

Calling Mr.NinjaSquirrel. Please leave out sports in the collage and replace it with bands/music legends.Sounds like we need a neato collage of all things off-topic including said games, food, and sports for 2014. Who's good at photoshop?
im on my 5th playthroughI think with all The Evil Within talk in this thread I played it through about 5 times at this point.
As I understand it, it is kinda like a top-down, turn-based version of Rainbow Six.Binding of Isaac saves this from being a completely wasted month, but yeah, that lineup sucks for me. I don't totally regret already buying Luft-whatever and Steamworld since I've already played and enjoyed them. Vita suff looks like junk. I have no idea what Frozen Synapse is...
flooded room in Ch 5 -will give u problems. So I was looking at what I need for unchartered platinum. Is crushing pretty hard to get through? I mean I know it'll be hard but like impossible or?

It's actually not that bad. I enjoyed the combat more in the first game than Uncharted 2. Uncharted was my first plat.I finished Uncharted on hard (dont remember it being too crazy diff) and I did everything else but play through on Crushing. I saidthat. My name aint Vig.

I actually rate the series as 2 > 1 > 3. Hopefully Uncharted 4 will blow 2 out of the water.
I tried playing GA but third and first person shooters still feel weird.u skip Golden Abyss?
That's actually very fitting.my new name should be Snakestrodamus![]()
Whoops. I forgot about that one...so what does that tell you?u skip Golden Abyss?
That you have a shitty memory.Whoops. I forgot about that one...so what does that tell you?
2 > 1 > 3 > GA
Not many people will be able to finish it in a monthIf Issac is the tournament game for november then count me in!
I said poop 2 mins before the ps + games went up, my new name should be Snakestrodamus![]()
Sorry, not many people that aren't Vig will be able to finish in a monthNot many people will be able to finish it in a month
