Will this work online too? I don't have a target near me anymore, but I still have a bit of target credit left over.
I'm not sure.

You should be able to match the Target B2G1 deal at BB. I've done it before. Wouldn't give you a better deal, really, but it would give reward points and most of us are more likely to have credit at BB.
If you have credit at Best Buy, you won't get reward points since purchases paid for with gift cards don't get them.

they just sent a mailer out too that has $10 off $150 and 10% off video game software (although I think that coupon is only valid the week after b2g1, will check). you can usually combine up to two target coupons with a print ad deal - they're also doing daily 50% cartwheel deals for toys which may include video game stuff.

was hoping for this though, now I need to figure out what comes out that week and if it'll make sense to cancel whatever at bby.
That coupon was mentioned in the thread as starting 11/16, so it's valid the week after.

Trying to justify my PS4 purchase:

In order to get one for the same price on Black Friday, it'd have to be roughly $336 pre-tax. Like Gator, I don't really see them going that cheap, though I could be wrong.

The problem is I don't have any games for it yet at all. Maybe if Gamefly has a decent deal on a good game today.

Sometimes I hate my thought processes. I over-analyze everything, and then continually second-guess my decision. :headache:
If you had Plus you'd have like 20 games to play.

So you guys think that VOlgar the Viking game is a shoe-in for Games with Gold this month on X1?

I'm so fucking bored...and the internet is dead.  Except for a couple salty Xbox Destiny players on GAF, there is nothing going on in the video game world.

Yeah I know, but looking back over them I don't see much that I'd rather play over what I already have on PS3 (mainly Dust). I'm definitely gonna get a sub though once I have a PS4 since it's pretty much required. I can take 2 of my monthly perfect attendance gift cards from work and take care of the sub with no money out of pocket each year.

PS4 games out now that I'd like to play:

Lords of the Fallen

AC IV

Shadow Warrior

The Evil Within

Shadow of Mordor

TWD Season 2

Watch Dogs

Infamous

TR Definitive

The Last of Us

Diablo 3

Wolfenstein

Metro

Sleeping Dogs

So a pretty long list there. Certainly no shortage of stuff I'm interested in.

thanks. it's cool though, lbp3 isn't out until the following week anyhow and ac:unity I'll just pick up at bby for $48 credit w/ $10 rz. maybe if there's some glitchy shenanigans my plan will change.

You can always gameshare with a few of us to defray some of the costs. And, yeah, there's PS+. The true heavy hitters don't start dropping until next year, but in other regards it outclasses PS3 in every way. Look at the upgrade as a long term investment, I guess.

the nice thing about shareplay is being able to try out games people are on the fence about... i kinda want to shareplay with someone that has the evil within... but I am almost positive it's not for me...

Any of you ever used eStarland to trade in games? They have some pretty decent values for older games.
I used them last year to trade in two copies of some super-cheap Victorious DS game that was ~$3 at Best Buy but fetched ~$8 at eStarland. Unfortunately, I don't think they can send you cash until you accumulate a certain amount of "store credit" at their site, so I still have that credit sitting there unused. :headache:

All the time and a ton over the years, they have great trade in prices. As an example PS4 transformers gets 30+. I was going to try to cash in on that but worked blocked Gamefly and I couldn't get my old account to come up on my phone for some reason. Better if you want new games though as opposed to cash. Cash is 70% the trade-in value.

Ugh, thanks for the heads-up.

Target has a B2G1 on all games starting the week of 11/9: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/337531-target-ad-119-1116-b2g1-free-on-all-video-games/

Hmm, this makes things complicated. I have Master Chief Collection and Assassin's Creed Unity preordered at Best Buy. The B2G1 free makes me want to PM and throw in AC Rogue on top of it, but there would be no GCU discount or bonus certs. So.. $96-$20 =$76 for the two games I planned on getting... or $120 if I do it the other way. So is Rogue worth $44 day plus losing out on preorder bonuses for the other two?.... Nah, definitely not since I could get it for $48 regularly. Okay, I guess it's not that complicated. Thanks for listening everyone.

What the heck is this I don't even
Something like the time anomaly might have been cool when 1 came out...but to introduce it now is pretty lame. Maybe the story has something to do with it though. This is of course speaking of my limited knowledge of the whole series. Playing 4 I wish they would just ditch the "real world" stuff all together.

It happens, we're both pretty awesome.

But if someone is doing really stupid grindy stuff for trophies, you can be sure it's Stotch and not me.
If I remember correctly, Stotch didn't grind to get to level 100, he did the stand still with a high wanted level on that roof and let the camera spin. Im not bashing that method at all, he kept telling me to do it, and by the time I got around to do it they had hotfixed it and it didn't work anymore. I wish I could have got to level 100 that way, I doubt I will get it legit either. I'm just waiting for another afk method like that to happen again.

also thanks for all the likes guys on The Evil Within plat, it was fun.

I could use some direction from those of you who know a lot about computers. Looks like I caught a virus somewhere and can't get rid of it. I have avast and it was constantly announcing that it was blocking attacks. I did a full scan and it found 3 files. Separated those and everything was fine for about a week. Then last night it started back up again right before i had to go to work so i disconnected my internet and when i got home started another full scan.

48% complete and already has found 160 infected files... WTF is going on?

And no, it's not from watching porn.

EDIT: Also noticed that when it was blocking attacks it was blowing up my laptop with com surrogate processes. Would notice it laboring and the fan kicking on, so i would pop open task manager and notice a dozen of these things eating up resources.
Like Pete-not-Pete said, at this point you might be too far gone. Save what you need and blow the viruses to hell. The last thing I'd recommend before that would be using HitmanPro and SuperAntiSpyware to scan, but coming from experience when it's that bad it's hard to remove everything.

That Anita Sarkesian chick was on Colbert the other night. She just talked about a bunch of generic fluff. Colbert even asked her point-blank for examples in games and she just kept talking about nothing.
The goal was never to focus on particular games for what is an industry wide issue. If you want to see tons of specific instances of the problems she talks about go watch one of her videos, or just look at the list of games in the descriptions of them.

Since you aren't really a MP gamer, and that list of games is pretty heavy on the SP games anyway, you might want to consider Gamefly instead of PS Plus. I know you don't work through games incredibly fast, but at essentially $12 a month if you do the gift certificate trick it would allow you to play all those in that list. Other than PSN titles you might want to play, you wouldn't have to buy any games at all for quite some time.

If you have any relatives that would spend around $37 on your for Giftmas, you could even have them get you 3 months of a subscription. Just something to think about.

All I heard was Gamefly costs a lot more than my BF $30 PS Plus sub. Obviously with GF you get to choose whatever but Plus is such an insanely good value. Glad I'm good to 2018...hope they do it again ($30) in the future.

It'd be interesting to try and total up what I've spent on games the last 3 or so years and compare it to the price of a Gamefly sub. I've never given it much thought but I may consider it for the future. I'd probably still just buy extra-long games though if I decide to go that route.

So when someone asks you a question you ignore it? I didn't see the interview just saying. If that's the case she could have even said " I have a bunch of videos up on youtube" or whatever.

I never said Plus was not a good value and I am up to 2018 or so myself. However, if that list of games is what he wants to play AND he doesnt play MP games what makes more sense for him to do?

If anyone spends more than $12 a month on video games and are not one to play more than 2 games at a time, then they could be saving money with Gamefly. I am not claiming it is an alternative for everyone, but I think it works for him. I know I play enough that I can manage the Plus games as well as what I get from Gamefly. I know he doesn't.

She said exactly what I did; she didn't want to draw the attention away from the larger problem by focusing on particular games. You should probably actually watch the interview before making more remarks about it.

The GF subscription gives you a $5 off a used game every 3 consecutive months as a member (which happens to be the length of each $37 gift card). You can use those to get the games that are really long at even a further discount. I used to use them for the games with online passes due to my wanting to complete almost everything I play. Now, I seem to have a hard time convincing myself to buy anything. Even longer games seem like a better value for me just to rent them. I could not even bring myself to pay $8.50 for the Transformers game (I get a 10% discount on all purchases and have a $5 coupon to use) when I likely could have played it and got a small profit from trading it in after. I'm too lazy to do the flipping stuff, so renting just works for me.

I don't play many MP games either but Gamefly still seems high. I guess for me I've always been a bit behind backlog wise so I'm not jumping on the latest games when they release. I guess if I was a little more current it would make more sense. For me I've been cool for awhile with Plus sale games normally around 10 and under and plus the stuff from Plus I've yet to play like Infamous 2 and Uncharted 3.

I average around 10 hours of play time per week, so it would take me pretty much an entire month to play most jrpgs. That's still only $12 to play that game, so still a pretty good deal.

So, now I have another thing entirely to consider.

Good to know. Based on this, it is probably not a good option for you. That was why I replied to Backlog directly and suggested it for him. We do not all play the same way :)

Yeah but ignoring someone makes it seem like you really have nothing to say in the first place. You still need context especially on a show like Colbert where not 100% of the audience is even a gamer. There's getting a point across but you need to think about it from other people's points of view, not just your own. If you told me the sky was green should I just take your word for it?

FYI... I just always assume most people would want the 2 games at a time plan so that when they finish one they have another to play immediately or might want to switch between the 2 games. If not, the gift certificate for one at a time is less than $9 a month.

They introduced her immediately before hand by saying she's a woman who makes youtube videos about damaging tropes toward women in video games. How is that not context? Again, watch the video if you're going to comment on it.

Yeah, I'd have to do the 2 game plan. Wouldn't want to be stuck with nothing to play on a weekend.

probably already discussed, but driveclub on hold until further notice for realz.

this has not gone super well for them.

So Freedom Wars is a huge dick. After finishing the first real mission there's a prompt saying you look tired and it's suggested that I rest. I declined because I knew I didn't have the right to recline yet; for failing to rest I got 10 years added to my sentence, then the only option afterwards was to rest. I rested and got another 10 years for reclining without the right to recline.  =P~

That's actually increasing my desire to buy it.

I watched it. He made her look like every generic feminist out there, the only thing being she has the spotlight on herself due to being the only one railing on games.

I think GG had a golden opportunity and shot itself in the foot. Now all the coverage in the major sites all the time is either about Sarkesian and Wu, ad nauseum, spouting the same old things while not doing anything at all(one being a mediocre developer, the other reveling in being the "first" gaming feminist).

If they want to change the current paradigm, instead of targeting gamers, they should begin by directly dealing with the problem, which are the Devs.

Hey guys, Evolve alpha has an early start for Xbox One. Where do I complain?

As far as I can tell from watching a friend stream the game, the game involves sitting and staring at a spinning icon with the text "waiting for servers". I want in on that and I want it now!

You should go complain in the X1 forums of Destiny. They'd embrace you, another misled brother.
