PlayStation 4 - General Discussion Thread

has anyone had issues with share play? im trying to get the couch co-op trophies in geometry wars with share play. now i could connect to my friend and play but when he tries to connect to me, it says it couldnt establish a connection. i have 48.7 mbps down and 7.5 up so its not my connection. would it be a port issue on his end?

I compared the two Uncharted trailers(1 from e3 2014 and psx) and yea e3 one is def cgi and not realtime gameplay. If UC4 isnt 60 fps when it comes out then oh boy, Im gonna be sooooooo mad.

All I want from U4 is less combat, and when it's there it's better than in the past.  Tomb Raider's combat was vastly superior to the Uncharted series combat imo.  I love the exploration and stories/characters of the Uncharted series but the mediocre combat has to go.

Gee I wonder why you would think that.
Because I genuinely think so and not because it's a timed Xbox exclusive so we're not beating around the bush here?

A fan of the series but it's not like Drake's Deception was a major improvement over Among Thieves. UC4 could very well be more of the same.

Both series are superior in their own aspects.

PSX was alright, heard that they were gonna probably end the show with that SFV reveal but since it got leaked, they had to change plans. Im not even a Final Fantasy fan but man i would be so mad not to get a upgraded hd FF7 remake but instead a pc port, lol. I wanted a Uncharted Trilogy HD for ps4 to hit stores like in jan-feb. Oh well.

Huge FF fan. Screw the PC port. Remake or speed up shit on new FF.

Then get done with FF, and hurry the hell up with KH3. How many freaking years has it been?!? 10?!? Enough already.

Driveclub is getting the weather patch tomorrow, Im considering picking it up a BB with the B2G1. :whistle2:k

An uncharted remaster would likely hit during the summer when the dead period of games comes out.
Until Dawn is suppose to come out in summer 2015, it looks pretty good. But if they could pump out an UC collection for the summer like they did with TLOUR that would be amazing!

Eh. It basically looks like a crossover between Cabin In the Woods and Saw mixed in with a few other horror movie cliches. (Oh look it's a naked girl in a hot tub!)

It's the voice and model of hayden panettiere. During the keynote demo when she's walking around in a towel the guy controlling her asked "what should I do?" Someone shouted, "Take off the towel!"

I get why they're doing it. I mean the PC port is there, so why not just release it.

It probably would have been better received if it was a surprise release.

The Witcher 3 got delayed until May 19th 2015. I remember when everyone was saying how crazy stacked February was, now its just The Order and Evolve lol Im not too upset, I like when big games get spaced out a bit.

Insider on GAF indicated that development for The Witcher 3 has been a mess and the PR is overhyping it with false promises. I'm definitely going to avoid preordering it now because 7 months worth of delays has to say something is going wrong.

I still have trust in CDP Red, I adore the first two Witcher games so they get the benefit of the doubt from me.  Now if TW3 turns out to be underwhelming then that trust will go away and i will be left with about 3 devs in all of the industry I still have complete faith in.  Don't let me down (PLEASE) CDP Red!!!

Thinking back I'm surprised they didn't talk about PS Now during PSX. It seems like they launched the service and haven't really followed up on refining and improving it. Prices are still too high and I guess they haven't gotten around to that subscription model a lot of people have been clamoring for.

Yeah, I dont think Sony wants to make any more "move only" games... It'll likely just be to supplement games like it already does or for smaller things like The Playroom.

I'm pretty sure they aren't going to force people to buy cameras in order to play UD.

Wow after looking on EBay, there was pretty sweet swag at PSX. I'm so jealous of the people that went. I'd love to have that 52-card deck, but not willing to pay the $200 eBay prices. I also seen a 20th Anniversary PS4 sold for $20K. Some people wow!

This is all correct. I played Until Dawn at the PSX and it does not require the camera, a move, or anything else other than the DS4. It's using the accelerometers that are inside of the controller. It's an interesting game, if not just a choose your own adventure.

I'm sure myself and anyone else that was at PSX is more than happy to answer any other questions anyone has.

so is this more like a telltale style type game? what was the gameplay actually like?

the whole "choose your own adventure" thing kinda threw me off.
I saw a gameplay vid and it reminded me of Heavy Rain. Polygon had a lot of positive things to say about it.

"Until Dawn, which hits PlayStation 4 sometime in 2015, looks like it has a chance to be a sleeper hit on Sony's console. The game looks fantastic — it certainly doesn't look like a PlayStation 3 holdover"

I think that comes from the fact that when you die, that characters dead. You just move to another character. There's a ton of multiple endings I heard. And even small things can shape the outcome. For instance, say Jill picks up a knife off a table, later on David could be in that room being attacked, if the knife was still there, he could use it and get away. But since it was picked up before by anther character it's now gone, so David is killed.

Hope you were able to follow that. All events and names were used just as an example.

Also before the game starts, it asks you multiple choice questions. The game will change depending on your answers. It could be really gory, or full of jump scares.

yeah the link posted earlier shed a little bit of light onto the whole thing. id like to see a game where your choices actually matter and affect gameplay down the line like in the example you provided. some thing i wish telltales twd actually did. im cautiously optimistic about the game.

Apparently it also ask you questions before to shape what happens and changes what the killer has to make it more personally scary for you.

I must admit this game is now on my radar after reading that preview.

Well I won't being playing Until Dawn.

I like not playing with a clinched butt.
Im gonna play this in the dark with my headphones on, just like I did with PT. :bouncy:

Heavy rain was like that as well. A ton of different endings and no "Game Over" if one of the characters die, the story just continues on.

i guess you would pay anything wiht sony name on it bet you would even buy a toilet if it had sony name on it. This is not troll comment but i don't see the need for sony to spend all thi money it will cost to make a tv service that is nothing new
