Wait so Spelunky requires you to play for hours on end in one run? I knew I hated that game. Going to delete it once I get home.

Is BOI similar?
I guarantee your Spelunky runs won't last more than 3 minutes each.

Binding of Isaac makes Spelunky look like Malcolm X. That game is such a snooze. Walk in room, run in cirlces and shoot, repeat ad nauseum.

I hate when people know that a weekly sales announcement is coming on PSN.  Everyone goes full retard, wondering when the sales will be announced, and they'll almost certainly be disappointed anyway.

Half the comments on the Vita Munch's Odyssee blog post are about week 3 of the Holiday Sale.

If you ordered a PSN code via Sony rewards check your email, mine finally arrived after 5 days.
I was just gonna ask if anyone else hadn't got their code yet. I'm still waiting for mine. The points show up as "On Hold" on the Sony Rewards site. C'mon Sony! Daddy needs credit to not spend in the obviously shitty sales coming today!

I thought you were now limited to 3 per title per console?
There's no such limit on Walmart.com, and Backlog's trading them in to Amazon (whose trade-in policy is 2 copies per game in a 6-month period) using both his and his wife's accounts.

Guys, don't forget to download The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief (only episode one though, not the full season) on Xbox 360 today.  It's the last day that game is free with GwG, and you guys don't want to miss a gem like that!

I just got mine this morning. I guess they had the right expiration date for my CC after all.

I like Binding of Isaac, but I don't love it. I fire it up occasionally and play a few rounds and it's fun, but I don't get sucked into it for try after try after try.

As a newly crowned BOI pro, I agree with this. By pro I mean I finally broke out of my 56 death streak. And damn it I think I left my Vita at home after syncing it last night. Today is gonna be boring.
Just wait until you unlock the final areas of the game ;) Congrats on beating Satan by the way!

Clearly as a noob, newb or n...nevermind, my first few Spelunky runs were indeed 3 minute long affairs.  Thankfully I realized then I didnt really like it and I didnt keep playing.  I dont want to be an expert if it means I have to play for hours on end.

I like my games simple.  Running around a room killing shit is fun. Especially when they are fast paced.

This Sherlock Holmes game is not very fun, but it is a GOTY candidate compared to that one. I got it during a flash sale at one point for next to nothing and I paid too much.

i'm considering following tyler. since they changed my position, i needed a new schedule. they wrote me out a one week schedule on paper, but i'm still missing 2 weeks. i've been calling them everyday asking if they want me to come in, and today they say they'll call me back. so now i get to sit here, and wait for a phone call that may never come. basically ruining my entire day, thanks walmart.

They're too busy fulfilling LEGO The Hobbit orders.

Just think how much more boring it would have been if you were playing BOI.

Seriously, BOI is probably a fine game and I'll probably actually get into it sometime in the future. But my first impressions and watching others play makes me feel like the gameplay is so dull. Also the fact that you don't know what anything in the game does, which I've previously gripped about.

Yesterday I went to a Sears that I had forgotten existed that I happened to be nearby to due to an errand. Apparently everybody else forgot it was there too, because it was gone. :(

Ill probably rage quit BOI after a few rounds anyway.  I dont have OCD like the rest of you.  I cant play the same game over and over again.  Usually.

I'm gonna send my Amazon sticks back.  Piece of shit.  Reformatted it, and it froze up a couple times on the welcome video.  Had to queue the Netflix download twice because the first time it froze.  Tried to boot it up and got the same error message I always get.  Ran downstairs, plugged in my Chromecast, and everything worked perfectly like it always has.

I guess lube isn't a big commodity during the holidays?

Ran to another Sears this morning and no Golds in site. Another barren experience. I did grab a Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Starter Pack for the PS3 for $30, I know it's old but it's the only one my son doesn't have so he'll be happy (He's getting spoiled this Christmas for sure). I also grabbed 2 Wii U Nunchucks for $3.99 since that was the only other cheap thing they had left. The single play and charge kit and headset adapter for the X1 were $12.49 instead of $5 so I passed.

Yeah, that part in particular is a turn off for me. Seems like it artificially increases the time it would take to get good at the game.
You don't really need to know what the items are, as most of the time you don't have a choice in them anyway. Sure you could maybe avoid some of the things that have negative effects, but that's a gamble you sometimes half to take. Like how when you go to McDonalds, you might sometimes get lukewarm fries. It doesn't mean you go full on dick and make them make you a new batch. You get what you get and you don't throw a fit.

I'm not sure if I've posted this here, but I've talked to people about how there really is very little cross-over from Spelunky to Isaac. And even less so from games like Rogue Legacy to Isaac. The people who tend to really obsess over things like Spelunky in general don't really like Isaac as much and vice versa.

This kind of comes down to the issues in the genre name and how they are all labelled as rogue-like. RL is not a rogue-like at all, but it gets labelled as one because it has some random elements. Spelunky is more of a rogue-like, but again, with such a small pool of items and how incredibly pattern based everything about Spelunky is, it doesn't really quite fit the rogue-like genre (not going to get too into it, but some people have started calling them a sub-genre such as rogue-like-like or rogue-lites).

Isaac however has a huge degree of randomness to it. Does that mean you are given un-winnable runs? Very rarely. In over 600 hours I would say I've had maybe 1 or 2 runs that the game put me in a situation where I couldn't win. Every other loss is attributed to my bad play or my bad decisions. A lot of people go into Isaac expecting something like Spelunky or RL, when it isn't like that at all. It's not a game for everyone, especially because it takes a lot of time to figure out, but that's what rogue-likes are all about.

Not that it helps, but the guy who got the headset adapter for $5 only did so thanks to a wrongly-placed sticker on the box and manager override--$12.49 is technically the right price.

Well you were able to play a "thriller" like Dead Nation about 10 times apparently...
Thats what "usually" meant bitch! Take some English classes!

I told you I am a simple man that likes simple things. Dead Nation is simple/straightforward and so are my comebacks.

I have no idea what I am saying because I am so over work/people.

"sticks"? You have more than one and both are not working right? If so that's crazy. We haven't had any issues with ours. Bad luck, I guess.
