After another round of clearance at my downtown Target, pink DS3s are still $37.xx, but Saints Row IV moved down to my buy price of $5.98, that's added to the damn spreadsheet now.

And it's nice to see I'm now the lone schmuck still left in the thread without a PS4. If anyone gets to call dips on any of the extra PS4s, it's this guy.
I'm still without one as well. Part of it is that I need to upgrade my TV when I move to current gen. Maybe next holiday season will bring me into the newness.

Hell, I went out and bought a Vita AND a PSTV (that I used once for 10 minutes so far).  No excuse to not have a PS4 you broke asses.  Go without food for a day or two, you will be aight.

I used to listen to my brother's Joe Cocker Greatest Hits CD a lot in high school, and my friends always gave me crap for it.  Was a damn good listen.  Sad to hear he's gone.

its a fukin joke m8

OR if you get 401k within 90 days set it up to where your raise goes into your 401k.

Retirement aint no joke.
Ya I get pension and 401k.

I have no idea how to understand any of the 401k info they have me though. I'm going to have to ask someone there to help explain it

If they have a company match you should make sure to put at least that much of every paycheck into the 401k. And check to see if the company has a financial advisor (or someone they recommend) that can explain your options to you. Sometimes that can be free. Dont listen to random advice from random people about which funds are the best.

Is there a company match?

If so, at a minimum, do that amount. Its basically free money in the long run.

All that.

401ks kinda suck at most companies really as they dont have a wide selection of funds that they allow you to pick from, but it helps on your taxes and of course the company match helps out too.

Christmas came early today! Guys, don't be jealous, but I'm now the part owner of a little island. You might have heard about it before. It's name is Hawaii...
2.

Here's a map of the island:

Part 1 of my letter of ownership:

Part 2 of the letter with suggested activities:

And some facts about the island:

*Approximate size of ownership: one square foot

You're welcome to join me on the island, but space is EXTREMELY limited.*

I also got a bike for Christmas. I had no idea it would come in handy for my Island adventures! When I was sick I had next to no energy so I really asked for a bike so I could start building up my stamina again. Santa made my wish come true!

I ended up sort of stumbling into this job offer and the benefits it has are so good that I will be working full time.

They match everything 100% Kilik/Pharm.
I don't think you understood the 401 k... usually it is 100% up to a percentage that you put in, otherwise the company could go bankrupt from matching any amount. usually 4-10% is what you are looking at. My company matches 100% of 6% when I am fully vested after a year on the job.

it's 100% up to 5%

I'm telling you I have no idea any of this crap they're talking about. I never had a job with all these benefits before

Nevermind saw new post.

Do 5%, which is essentially turned into 10 percent with the match.

If they have an annual percent increase set that to 1 percent per year.

You wont notice the 1 percent increase every year and you'll turn around and be doing 15+ percent to 401k without really realizing it.

Honestly, for someone that doesn't know a bunch, I would simply sign up for 5% and not worry about which specific fund it goes to, just sign up for the generic one it puts you in. it is usually the most conservative, which can be fine as your not retiring anytime soon and should do fine over a long period for you.

We have a pension too.
We have one here as well, but not for all employees just for some of them.

I'm honestly surprised they're still around. Not only are they super costly as people continue to live longer, they also seem to incentivize employees to stick around jobs longer than they should. Sure, employer loyalty is a good thing sometimes, but there's also tons of people who outlive their usefulness in a job but stand pat in the position because they're just X number of years away from a full pension.

They're also a terrible incentive for bringing in active up-and-comer employees, who tend to prefer changing jobs every 5-10 years. People like change now a lot more than they used to.

With younger generations changing careers more frequently, and also employers wanting to hire younger employees to reduce pensions as well as higher pay grades, pensions are just dumb.

From a business perspective, I don't like pensions either.  I think they encourage complacency to an extent.

From an employee perspective, they're OK I guess.  Depending on your life goals.

Cleaner, you definitely need to invite over some ladies to your "island"... and bring a canvas to paint their portrait.

Well and with Social Security most likely going the way of the dodo, It might be the only way to help out younger people... but something new needs to be developed.

Heads up to y'all buying new PS4s soon (assholes), another Cartwheel deal is coming soon.  Not sure how much or when it starts, but I just know it's not as good as the last one.

Yeah and then they can try the sweetness of my miracle berries.

I can't wait to try these!

The great thing about owning part of a small island is how intimate it is.
