I just saw the trailer for DB Xenoverse game. If that looked like the cartoon instead of weird 3d shading I think I would have bought it. :/

My island ownership and the miracle berries were the last two items from the Cards Against Humanity "Ten Days or Whatever of Kwanzaa." And everyone in the stream thought I was being racist when I said "or whatever". It was fun getting surprise gifts from them.

At my work we find out about performance/raises after the 401k change deadline passes. I think I found out about my raise a week after, actually. I guess I can work my raise into the 401k in six months when the next chance comes around.  :wall:

You can only change your 401k contributions twice a year? I have always been able to change it every paycheck if I wanted to.

Yeah and then they can try the sweetness of my miracle berries.

I can't wait to try these!

The great thing about owning part of a small island is how intimate it is.
Miracle berries are a lot of fun depending on how well they work for you and if you and a group of people try them together.

I tried them with a group of 5 other people. But they didn't work that well for me, so everything tasted somewhat normal.

So shopping was fun. Almost watched 2 soccer moms fight because one of them didn't know how checkout lines work.

And I bought 4 of the 1lb Snickers bars. Unfortunately, not for me.

Also 7 people hit by lightning after game this weekend are okay. No major injuries.

She called her experience "a brush with death," but also said she was a huge Packers fan and wanted Aaron Rodgers to know, "I took one for the team." "I'm a liver. I love life," she said. "This just gives me more zest for life."

When she got to her sister-in-law's rental car outside the hospital, after a slow walk in the rain, Boone reached into a cooler in the backseat, pulled out a flask of Fireball whisky, and took a swig. "Here's to being alive," she said.

Ya I get pension and 401k.

I have no idea how to understand any of the 401k info they have me though. I'm going to have to ask someone there to help explain it
Basically it is money that comes out pre tax that goes into a fund that is invested in stocks and stuff. Many companies offer a match if you put in some minimum percentage. I would start off with 5% minimum. Or if you can afford it max out whatever the company match is. That is free money. You can later in life borrow against it to buy a home (usually anyway) or just let it grow till you retire. You usually have to stay with the company for 5 years or so to be vested. All that means is you get to keep all of the match at some point. It is usally pro rated so after like 2 years you get to keep some like 20% of the match.

Usually there is a financial guy at work who you can tell how aggressive or not you want to be with the risk. At a young age he/she will probably recommend you be pretty aggressive but it is your choice ultimately.

The best games I played this year were all on Vita.  Maybe that should tell me I need to play more Vita games.

Danganronpa 1, Danganronpa 2, Tales of Hearts: R.  All incredibly enjoyable and reminded me why I like games.

AC: Rogue was surprisingly good, and Shadow of Mordor was pretty damn fun once it got going, but those three Vita games were super fun and are at the top of my list.

Oh, and the extra content on FFX-2 made that a great play as well.  I highly recommend that game to those of you who just played X and were done.  X-2 aged so much better, and the extra content (creature creator and the rogue game) is a blast.

How well did they work for the other people? I was thinking it'd be fun to try with a group too!

My list of best and worst games I played in 2014. Posted it over in the blogs as to not completely turn this thread into everyone's best/worst lists, though that will probably happen anyway.

https://www.cheapassgamer.com/blog/3523/entry-24506-my-favorite-and-least-favorite-games-of-2014/
Not a bad list. It was the usual suspects for top games. Nothing too surprising there except maybe how much you came to love Spelunky. How did you compile your list of games played? PSN Profiles? I might make a list.

They don't care unless your name is Jay.
Yeah if you're not Jay, you can get banned, come back under a new name, be creepy as hell, say you want to have sex with a little girl, and that you want to rape chicks. But if you call the mods out for being the fucking retards they are, you get banned.

I'd say definitely do it in a group. It works for everyone differently. It might have a stronger effect on one item for you, whereas someone else finds that it didn't change much. Most things were pretty consistent with everyone though.

Yeah PSN Profiles for all the Sony games and then just my Xbox for the Xbox games since I can't use any sites for that anymore.

Next year it'll be all PSN, fuck ya!

I've died more times in Far Cry 3 from dumb shit happening. Like my car suddenly flying off a cliff. Or my
wingsuit
not opening.

Well Tyler, I had to tear apart the Temple and Olmec's chamber brick by brick after being shut out of a Hell run, but I finally broke a million and then some.      :D

hey guys that lemmings game is pretty great. probably helps that I had low expectations, but it reminds me a lot of the original. I know everyone was wondering so there you go.

Oh there were dozens and dozens of deaths for sure, this was just the eventual lucky break that cruel mistress Spelunky finally decided to throw my way.  There must've been at least 10 times in the last few days where everything was lined up for success: Jetpack, tons of bombs, no dark levels, etc etc. and invariably some bs thing or another would totally screw the run.  A couple of times when I was up around 800, 900k and died I came as close as I ever have to just breaking down into a full-on whine-cry ala Cartman, lol.

Played some games that don't have trophies so PSN profiles won't work for tracking all my 2014 games, but I just had a thought that my save management on the PS3 should have a list of when I last played every game. I can't remember if you can sort that by date or if it is only by alphabetical order... will have to check.

It's a shame the Robocop remake wasn't just an original IP with all the same plot points. I think so many people were so focused on what it wasn't that it blinded them to what it was. I had a free ticket so I saw it originally in the theater not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. I Watched my $6 copy I picked up over BF just now and it still holds up, on a repeat viewing you notice other little details about the nature of this version of the near future, like when one of the company heads casually mentions they will issue a "gag order" which indicates (among other subtle touches during the film) that the company owns and controls many (or all) arms of the news media. It's not a major plot point, but a nice bit of world building.

No order on this list and basically the games that really stood out to me. Including Destiny because I can't deny how much time and effort was sunk.

  • Outlast
  • The Wolf Among Us
  • Transistor
  • AC IV: Black Flag
  • Rogue Legacy
  • Shadow Of Mordor
  • Destiny*
*It is more disappointing than say, Watch_Dogs, which sort of became the unofficial poster child of next-gen.

Best Buy you fuck ing assholes. Afrika has started to get rare so I was wanting to track down a copy before it gets to be too stupid expensive. So I did a google to see if there was a page for it on best buy. Pulled up the pre-owned page "This item is no longer available." Smash cut to just now a few days later and I get an email from best buy:

Subject: "Hey, did you miss what you were looking for?"

Afrika ? PRE-OWNED - PlayStation 3

So they got my hopes up that they had magically started stocking it again, nope, still not available.

The new dev/3rd game of the series theory is definitely in full effect with Arkham Origins. I'm about 5 hours in and so far I don't see any other reason why it didn't review well.

All the extra stuff seems a bit daunting, so for now I just plan on running through the story and being done with it.

Ah thank you

I understand now :)

I probably wouldn't be too aggressive just because I have a kid and all. I wouldn't want to potentially lose her money (ie. money I would put aside for her)

Yeah, I've gotten hit by that a few times. They don't sell online and none of the local stores carry a copy of whatever game, either. I'm not sure why BB doesn't allow for shipping from stores; you'd think that if they have a copy at some location, especially for clearance items, that anybody wanting to buy it they'd ship it to. Or at least ship it to the local store so you can pick it up.

Resogun is pretty addictive. Already at 40% trophy completion and that was in one session. Tomorrow I should be able to run through with the 3rd ship to get that bronze, then I need to start looking at trophy guides to figure out the best way to grab some of the others, such as rescue 2 humans within a second.

I did try veteran after running through beginner one time. Quite a jump there. I'm glad you only have to beat one level on Master for that trophy, as I doubt I'd be able to run through the whole game at whatever crazy bullet-hell insanity Master pulls.
