You should ask at work if they have a 529 plan. That would probably be a better way to save for her college. The 401k is for when you get old and retire.
 
I have now achieved my longest trophy streak since TT started tracking me. Most likely will end this weekend up at the in-law's cabin, but it looks pretty now so suck it nerds.

Finished my Impossible run in Dead Space and started my cleanup run. I only have to get 30 kills with the Flamethrower, Line Gun, and Contact Beam then upgrade everything, and I'll have the plat.

My god its been really humid these last two days.  And almost 80 fuck ing degrees!  Thankfully they say it will drop to the mid 60s for xmas day.  Then go right back to being hot and humid again.  fuck my life.

day 1 vanquish challenge 6 relearning stats:

Number of failures: 17
Deaths in round 1: 16
Deaths in round 2: 0
Deaths in round 3: 1
Furthest round achieved: 3

Relearning the controls is a real bitch under these circumstances. For probably the first 10 attempts I was using the wrong buttons for reload and cover. The one time I got to round 3 I just sat and stared at the romanovs until I exploded.
 
Why does Best Buy sell GCU cards online with free shipping when you have to get the card activated in store? To be fair, though, when I search for it it doesn't show up, but in those threads in the deals section they have a link and sure enough it works. I guess they are trying to hide it, but not entirely successfully.

And no, I didn't get a chance to take advantage of the $7 SIM card + GCU deal. Poor me. Maybe I should just wait for them to screw up again and sell it for dirt cheap.

I played a lot of games from the backlog/games that released prior to 2014 this year. The games i enjoyed the most were:

Infamous 2 (best in the series for me)

Red Dead Redemption

Guacamelee

Still so many games that I want to play, not enough time.

Cleaner had this idea to do PSNOT awards?  Sounds kinda fun.  Should we do it?  We can do things like best PS4/PS VIta/PS3/Exclusive/Downloadable game of the year plus some other fun ones if we want.

I liked this only because you included Burnout Paradise and called it possibly the greatest racing game of all time. The only issue I have is that it should have been #1. Cause greatest is better than all others!

One thing you might not remember is boost evade. if you hold down X, a direction on the stick, and hold down L2 you will boost while evading (at the cost of no coolant) as long as you are not in overheat. You will somersault faster and cover more distance making it harder for them to hit you while moving.

I start along the left wall in round 1 killing the four that spawn on that side, then enter the cover around the statue and move across the arena behind there killing them that spawn in view on the right side. Also for the viper, you don't have to wait for the QTE prompt to come up before you press the button. As soon as you hear him running just start mashing square over and over. The crystal viper is slow so once you've cleared out all the gorgies that is a good time to familiarize yourself with the weapon locations and move any weapons around to better locations for other rounds.

The disc launcher is great for round 3 as a headshot with it decaps them (blinding them) and they will self-destruct in 1 minute. So out from cover slow, headshot (prioritize the drill romanovs) or you can try the trick of life gunning the flame romanaov into the missile romunav at the start of the round and then detting the flame romunav's tank to kill both of them. Thankfully there is no time limit to the challenge so you can take your time and wait for them to die in 1 minute from the decapitation.

 
Man, Batman Arkham asylum is so frustrating and satisfying all at the same time.  The combat isn't perfect and that would be my only frustration, but when you get going I just love connecting big combos.

Not to mention it isn't simply button mashing and throwing in guys with Knives, Batons, and guns adds a lot of strategy to the fighting.  Shadow of Mordor did do it perfectly, which is why it is my Game of the Year.  But the combat challenges haven't been too bad once I got past the first two.  Those sucked because there wasn't enough guys, since then I have beat 4 more challenges 3 stars on the first try.  I think I might actually be able to plat it!!  Pretty good plat for my 20th.

Spelunky just barely missed the cut-off to put on my least fun list, last time I played it was 12/31/13.

So ya, I looked at the save management on my PS3 and that works like a charm, it lists every game I've played as well as the last date I played it sorted by most recent -> oldest. If you've played any game this year that doesn't have trophys, that worked to track games I had played and forgotten about like Hot Shots Golf that doesn't show up on PSN profiles. That also works for the PSP.
