Have two orders for a Pit from TRU. Got a delay email like some other CAGs here for my 10.99 order, but I also got an email that my full price +S&H order is now processing? I see your game fuck ing Toys R Us

Target went fast. OOS before I could finish checking out. I went slowly through checkout because I managed to get an order in with Amazon (I hope I can count on this.)

Still...wasn't more than a minute between me adding it to cart and attempting to checkout.

it was up for around 15 minutes, but still went fast

Looks like my Pit already shipped from Amazon and will be here on Friday. I had finally gotten an order to go through about 8:30 last night.

Wave 2 finally complete!

Went to pick up my pre-orders (luigi, pit and falcon) from Best buy yesterday afternoon.  They could not find my Pit and said it was still on their truck.  Said they would call me once it was picked in the evening.. havent heard from them since.

Nintendo sure is stepping up the difficulty level in completing each wave of Amiibos.  I'd say I've hit a paywall on wave 3!!  Can't wait to see what kind of shenanigans happen if there is a wave 4.

Can someone explain to me the logic in doing in store pickup at Best Buy rather than shipping it to you? From experience, its the absolute worst way to order anything.

I've done it for games before and usually what happens when I get there is an employee who couldn't give less of a shit walks over and grabs a game from the aisle and brings it to the counter.

I'm not surprised in the least that people are having issues.

Did 1 Pit through TRU. Worth trying if I can't get one otherwise.

I like that they limit one per customer. Target should have done that with Rosalina. People may have had a fighting chance.

Shipping it could lead to damage on the packaging. For someone like me who cares about that, I'd rather not leave it to a minimum wage worker to ship it out properly and arrive in good condition. Picking it up in store could also have issues too, but at least I can return the item on the spot if it's damaged enough.

I can attest to this. I picked up a game last month (just regular version, not even special/limited/ultimate/ie: $20 more version) and it took them 20 minutes to locate mine, while meanwhile I could've just gotten it myself off the shelf in 2 seconds.

They had my falcons ready but yeah I made damn sure my Meta Knights were ordered for shipping. Not going to chance an exclusive.

Neither option is great. If you're going to open these and throw away the packaging, shipping is the way to go. Otherwise, it's not an option unless you're feeling really lucky. Given the poor packaging that Best Buy uses for just about everything, I won't order anything from them that I want to arrive in decent condition.

Really, what I've learned from this Amiibo fiasco is that Best Buy is probably the worst place to preorder from period. It would've been safer to just give up the GCU discount and pre-order these from Gamestop.

fuck  TRU!

it seems my full price + SH Pit and Falcon processed perfectly well but my reorder cancellation one is on "Special Order: Awaiting inventory

if its not one store screwing you over, its another

Shipping doesn't seem to be any more effective, at least in my experience. My order for Little Mac got cancelled and my Captain Falcon is still "processing".

Received my Pit and Luigi amiibos from Walmart.com yesterday, in excellent condition. fuck BB and TRU. Moving forward to wave 3, I have everything I want preordered from GS and Walmart, with the exception of Metaknight and Lucario. At this point im not even sure I expect to get those, despite preordering a long time ago.

Best Buy is USUALLY ok for shipping games/movies where they use those bubblewrap envelope, but if you have anything else shipped from them prepare for it to look like roadkill before you get it. If you have any desire whatsoever to keep the package looking even semi-presentable, shipping from Best Buy simply isn't an option for a lot of people.

Shipping from Amazon's had some problems too, but honestly I've only had problems with hardcover books where, for some reason, they refuse to use any padding aside from maybe a single air cushion thrown on top of the book (which laughably does nothing at all; the sides always look like shit). For whatever reason Amazon seems to be better when it comes to mailing statues/figures like these.

My Pit from BB switched to "preparing order" about a week to a week and a half ago and still hasnt shipped but hasnt been cancelled tho at least.

Alright rumor mill guys:

Just went to the nintendo store. Looks like they have another full box of wii fit trainers so if you're going to be in the city, I would call to confirm and get one. Strangely they were stalking inventory and I couldn't find any metroid and/or fox in the restock. Strange..

Don't at all do store pickup. My pit amiibo got shipped to the store because I thought it wouldn't be such a bad idea and apparently it was bought by an employee before it was picked for me. Mind you I preordered this like a month and a half ago so it should have been reserved for me when it came off the truck.

Also heard there was some Nintendo crazy employee stashing Rare amiibos and buying them after his shift.

Don't risk it. Do shipping instead. Now I need to call someone to get this dude fired.

Thats not the way it works.

Online store pick up orders for preorder product like that may arrive a few days to a week early. The system doesn't send through the order hold until the day before release so there is no tag or anything on your product before then. The only thing keeping it from being sold is street date. In your case, since you received a ready for pickup message it was either unknowningly placed on the sales floor before anyone got around to tagging your product, or a dishonest employee removed your tag and purchased it himself on release morning, possibly even before the store doors opened.

That sounds about like the off-duty GS employee who bragged to me that he bought all of his stores amiibo stock at the end of his shift on the first day to take to ebay. Of course that isnt the same as "stealing" someone's preorder, but either way it goes to show how many people have the opportunity to screw things over long before the item gets to the hands of the base consumer.

Well tech he didn't do anything wrong since he waited until he was off work. It's no different really than any other person going in and mass buying a lot of amiibos.

If BBY messes up my in-store order for Wave 3 I'm done with them. My pit has been pending for a while now, and even a video game I had pre-ordered months in advance took a week after release date to ship. I have backups, but if I don't get my Meta Knight, I'll have to start looking for Mega Knight instead.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but looks like Pit is up for order on TRU.com

Edit: looks like it's been covered...

Just saw this on Reddit, shocked how many they got, kind of sucks that Nintendo World seems to be the only place really getting restocks of the rare ones, but it makes sense. As long as they don't get an exclusive Amiibo.

Welp. BB just cancelled my Pit, and Captain Falcon.
In store or ship to home?
This is important to note. I preordered all I could of Wave 3 from them to ship to my house. I keep seeing comments saying Best Buy hasn't shipped their order or their in store order wasn't ready to pick up. Has anyone actually had a Best Buy preorder cancelled that was supposed to be shipped to their house? In store issues aren't surprising, but If they're canceling Wave 2 shipped preorders, I might consider switching what Wave 3 preorders I can to Gamestop.

Back when the smash bundles came out a few people on here said the best thing to do was ship to store. I argued that just because it worked for them that one time doesn't mean best buy can find a way to fuck it up.

With this wave of amiibos best buy has proven that they can fuck up your pre order in every possible way. I've had a lot of great experiences getting games from best buy, but they are by no means rock solid.

That being said my Pit shipped yesterday and it was in an order from the b2g1 glitch from a month ago. Only two more orders with 6 more amiibos from bb. Lots of chances to fuck it up. I'm not expecting to get every one of them (all were for shipping and paid with a gift card).

I'm fully aware of that as I'm sure he was, which was probably why he felt inclined to talk about it. I guess it's debatable whether it's a moral issue or not, but from the perspective of a GS customer it sure didnt make me feel good about shopping there to have a kid standing at the counter bullshitting with the staff identify himself as an employee and laugh at me when I asked for amiibos and say "yeah right, I bought all of our wave 2 shipment the first day".

I'd honestly love it if they stocked all the store exclusives at the Nintendo store and not because I'm a dirty reseller. There's no Target in the city and it would give traffic a huge boost if Nintendo World was the only place you could get all Amiibos. Think of how much foot traffic they'd get if they set up an amiibo station.

True though let's face it. If we were in a position of power, most people on this thread would probably square away at least 1 of the rare amiibos every shipment before they hit the floor.

Still waiting on my captain falcon to get shipped from best buy. My backup order of pit and captain falcon from TRU also got delayed.

Really hope one of those go through, so I don't have to order captain falcon from target or go hunting for him

...and not because I'm a dirty reseller.
That's exactly why you want it, so you can do less work for the money you're trying to make. Can't you just participate in the thread without always bringing up that you're doing this to sell them? You're getting as bad as that Rosalina person.
