Well not nightmares but my rosalina webpage monitor buzzes a couple times a night for no apparent change, waking me up. Thats sign enough i have a problem if i have that active all the time lol

Because I had mine and tend not to pay attention to things if systems work fine. I now remember what you are talking though.

Which has been clarified, but yes if your job is to approach people about things then know your shit, or a round about answer.

I can usually answer any question we have about the electronic products we have at my store, because it's my job to apporach, offer help, and answer questions.

First I've noticed the picture at the bottom of Nintendo's amiibo page, so I'm not sure if this has been caught before, but in case anyone needs further confirmation that Tom Nook, Toad and Pikmin are probably in Wave 4 after seeing the silhouettes in the retail display:

At least I know Tom Nook will be another amiibo I can ignore, a true rarity.  Unless it ends up being worth as much as Villager - won't make that mistake again.

Retail stores don't have unlimited space, that's the issue. It's easier for them to release a SKU, sell it out, move on to the next. They created the demand and it will stay around if they only release a certain alotment. It's also funny how these things were mostly on the shelves for weeks and as soon as rarity came into play, the shelves are nearly wiped-out. This is also the vocal, whiny minority who just wants to get in because rarity became a factor.

doubtful nintendo already made several remarks if certain figures are discontinued that to enable the interactive part that they are considering releasing a Card form of those discontinued figures instead.

also appearntly in the last 3 weeks best buy alone has sold 710,000 Amiibos.

I agree with the first part. The scarcity part is due to Christmas. I see Mario, Peach and Link everywhere. Now, Luigi and Zelda are popping in everywhere. I just feel that Nintendo thought these would not sell for crap and only planned on making a bunch of their main characters while making a minor amount for the other random characters in Smash.

Only Toys R Us has a lot of room for these. Every other store has a small space for them, like Target, Wal-Mart and Best Buy.

Speaking of rare ones. I had to hunt down a Villager. I had not seen a Villager anywhere and finally found one at a Target. While doing this and knowing of the three being discontinued, I walked by seven Wii Fit Trainers. I had seen a bunch of Marths the week before at Best Buy and was going to wait another week until some reward zone points cleared but then they all sold out and were gone.

A Villager selling at $175.00 on eBay right now shows that Nintendo did not plan this out enough as they are missing out on money.

I have zero interest in cards in place of the figures. I have seen several others say the same thing. I understand it would be easier to manufacture.

Keep in mind we're not representative of the consumer base though. The majority of the people here aren't even opening theirs because they want a pristine set to show off. The majority of overall consumers may flock to something like $3-4 cards, especially if their functionality is going to be stupid shit like DLC costumes, there's less collectability in it yes but i doubt most people are looking at these things as collectibles.

Counterpoint to this is Skylanders of course but I've always wondered if they're more or less forcing consumers to buy their stuff since the DLC is more substantial

I don't know if it was even available stand alone at launch but if it was I'm sure it was in lower quantities than the bundle which most stores got only enough for pre-orders.

See I think it would be amazing to make him about 1/4 inch thick then encasing him in a hard clear plastic that matched his shape. So he would look almost like he was in an LCD screen, be strong enough that he wouldn't break easily, and I think would have a really cool look while still being 2D.

Eh, same could be said for a lot of things in this world, supply and demand dictates it. I'd say for anyone who has some rare Amiibos and are contemplating selling them, I'd just sell them now and take what profits you can. Nintendo is well aware of the current situation and who knows if they'll end up reprinting more later on. If they don't, and prices keep increasing, at least you still came out with some kind of profit instead of taking the chance of a reproduction. I have two extra Pits, Captain Falcons and one extra UK Villager, VIllager's already on eBay and I'm most definitely putting up both sets of Pits and CFs on eBay as soon as I get them. I'd much rather take whatever profit I can get now instead of risking no profit.

Ionno, I mean you say that but then we have two games Fire Emblem GCU and Metroid Trilogy that sold for boatloads and still do and Nintendo didn't bother releasing them again

Its crazy to see the Villager and Marth trending in the 100-150 range on ebay. Even Wii Fit is pushing up. I can understand the people who are unloading theirs. Sometimes the money is just more important to them than the collecting... Personally I have a limit to at which point Id probably sell my Big 3. I love having the whole collection as I intended from the outset of these but if they start pushing 200-250 Ill probably consider just parting with them. Honestly at some point these will reach a peak value and then start to drop...

 
I'm so glad I had the foresight to pre-order three Marth amiibos. When I saw them sell out at Amazon prior to launch, it was a no-brainer to preorder three at Best Buy. I really can't see an Amiibo ever selling for much more than $150, so I think now is the time to sell my two extras.

It was in stock for longer than ten seconds. There is some hope he can find one. Nobody knows what Nintendo is doing with manufacturing.
The only ones that have been discontinued are the three from the first wave. Nothing has been said of wave two yet.
 
Wave 2 will be pit and little Mac for sure on the discontinued list...........................................................

I was registering my games on Nintendo's site (up to 1,025 coins now) and saw where you can get a character for registering Smash for the Wii U and 3DS. Is it worth it? How does Smash play on the 3DS?
