Here is something Sony could really do and dominate. Bundle PS Now and PSVue for one decent price similar to other cable companies.... they would dominate! Like $80-$90 a month for cable and PSnow?
You are probably going to think I just like disagreeing with you or something, but we just seem to have very different views on these topics.

With that said, I am not sure this would work all that well either. Do you really think cord cutters would be willing to pay that high of a service charge per month? I do not think so.

I agree with you. I don't want my Cable to be $90 for just cable and Ps now.

I'll take it for like a combo price of $30, which won't happen

Even if you don't like Phish it's worth checking out a dancing wombat.
A vacation we went on a number of years ago, the hotel we stayed at was filled with Phish heads because they were playing somewhere nearby. When we went up to our room this guy pops his head out of the room across the hall, looks at us for a second, munches a cheesy poof or something, and closes the door again. That's Phish.

Liked for cheesy poof!

I can eat these all fuck ing day. And I found this flavor the other day at the dollar store. Damn they are good.

I think the market of PS4 owners that want to play last gen (unupgraded) games is tiny.
That might also depend on how many of the flagship, exclusive titles eventually get remastered. But if this things becomes available via the computer I could see a lot of people wanting to play the back catalog of PS3 exclusives who might not even be console gamers. PS NOW would certainly be a cheaper / easier option than purchasing a PS3 if you had always wanted to play Infamous for example. It is concerning that they currently have so few PS3 exclusives on the list though,

Vita borderlands $170 at best buy. Price match to target + 15% off w/ zimmwheel gets you close to $140-150.
Another 5% off with Red Card.

And if you sell the borerlands code for 10-20 if you dont want it, gets you even cheaper.
Woot woot!

I've been considering picking up a slim and it seems like a great deal, just not sure it would get used though. I have a serious love affair with my OLED model.

OLED is reason I never upgraded. There have been deals to do so, like at one point could have traded OG vita for like 100 to gamestop, but just never did it.

Both are rental services and short of Redbox (which is REALLY limited in selection) are really the only two options for renting games. One is a physical disc (good for those with limited Internet). The other is also a rental service where you stream games.

I think comparing them makes a lot of sense if you are into renting games.

I think if the price was cheaper AND it was a download vs streaming I would be interested. The performance for me wasn't that great (yes it was during the beta) and the price makes no sense for me.
The Gamefly premium is way more palatable because of its selection. Several platforms spanning different generations. New releases. Niche releases. I just don't see how the two are comparable. As for the wait time my perspective may be skewed since we have a warehouse in Tampa. The turnaround is super fast.

I don't think NOW is terrible. I appreciate it for what it is. I hope they expand on the idea. It's just that at this price point they either need to offer more or lower it to something commensurate with its selection. Even non-cheap asses could do better.

I've got both and have no issues going from one to the other. Just don't play the same game on both Vitas to avoid the direct comparison.

I'd probably do BL2 Vita for $10 if anybody does get the bundle and wants to dump the code.

Yeah...I did it for 2 months. I liked the selection, but it was ~5 days each way for shipping. That right there effectively doubles the price I'm paying, since I'm really only getting to use a portion of the subscription time. PS Now is a much better deal (for me) at $15, though obviously the selection isn't near as good as GF's.

If Sony would get their shit together, and add a bunch of new releases, now would destroy gamefly for anyone primarily Sony. Gamefly is cool, but it's way too hard to get newer releases, and unless you live right by a center, the shipping takes too much of your time.

I'm really thinking about hitting up a 3 month sub before my surgery. I'll be stuck in bed most of the time. So being able to knock out a bunch of games from my vita would be nice.

Having both do you have a preference? Do you know if you can have 2 vitas and a PS TV on the same account?

I prefer the LCD. The screen isn't quite as nice but everything else is better. Button placement and shape, ergonomics of the device itself, the size and weight, and the standardized charger.

I haven't played the OLED over RemotePlay yet, but I've seen a number of comments suggesting it doesn't work as well for that since the PS4 games are color-optimized for an LCD, and that the colors seem off on the OLED Vita. RP does look good on my Vita Slim, though.

Forgot about the 2 Vitas + Vita TV question; Nope. At least not to my understanding, anyway. The limit for a single PSN account is 2 "Vita" systems, whether those are the portable or TV editions.

Games

One (1) PS4™ as your 'Primary PS4' and one (1) other as a secondary PS4™

Two (2) PS3™

Two (2) portable PlayStation systems (PSP, PlayStation®TV or PlayStation®Vita)
Edit: Though there's also this news item that I remember that said it got bumped to 3 portable systems. I can't find any official documentation that supports that for current policy, though, just news releases from last year:

So it could go either way. I don't have a PS TV to test with myself.

Just because PS Now isn't for people like me doesn't mean I don't want it to be more tailored to myself. I am the consumer, not the manufacturer. It isn't my job to look at it from their perspective and see that they are marketing towards other people (who already has passed on this product when it was more relevant) and defend them for this. I am one of their customers and I would have interest in this if it was more fleshed out with better titles, better streaming and, if these things aren't provided, then better pricing.

I am not angry at Sony for it, nor bashing them. It is just a new product they are offering and they are finally moving towards what I was always hoping for, an all inclusive sub model. I just hope they continue to evolve it to be a good value for all their customer base, rather than trying to shoot for a smaller audience that they feel will pay more for less because they haven't experienced it.

PS Plus, in its original state, wasn't close to worth it for me. Sony retooled their approach and knocked it out of the park. Where the program is right now compared to where it started is lightyears away. I hope that a year or so from now I can say the same for Now.

I love the constant drama in the Gameshare thread, usually involving transactions between members that are only a few bucks or even less.
Are you talking about the breakfuss thing? I was honestly hoping it had exploded even more when I read this message, but sadly, there isn't much else.

Thanks Therm. I might have to pass on the slim then. I already have the OLED and a PS TV. Not sure I want to deal with de-activating\re-activating them.

Well the entire crew of Greg Miller, Colin Moriarty, Tim Gettys, and Nick Scarpino quit IGN... however Coling and Greg are still going to do podcast beyond.

they are expanding their current youtube channel to cover game stuff now too.

I don't even know who those guys are, but I am curious as to why. Any reason given for the mass exodus?

yeah i don't miss the ps mini games ps+ used to give away for free :)

and I am shocked that shipwreck and wombat are against something Sony. If microsoft was doing the same thing on the other hand...

lol I don't know if you're talking about what happened last but that dude was trying to charge $15 for a Driveclub rental. DRIVECLUB. You would have ignored that foolishness, too.

If someone says, "hey...I don't have time to play this now (after you gave it to me days late)", I'd take it to mean they're done. Especially if the account is deactivated. Who sits on a deactivated account for two months?

I took the L on this one though since English isn't his native tongue. Miscommunication, I guess. Only reason he got any money. Overall it really is a great and diverse group of guys, though.

So I did drop a game in the mail today for Gamefly and have Resistance at the top of my Q.  Since it is available now I should definitely be getting it sent my way tomorrow (assuming fast return kicks in like usual).  Hopefully it will arrive before the weekend.

I assume we should have 4 players who want to get the online trophy with Pancakes, kilik, wren, and myself all getting the game recently?

Woah didn't see that coming...I guess the youtube channel went big enough for them to quit? Crazy. Beyond!

They have a youtube channel they started a long time ago that has slowly evolved over time. Last fall they started patreon for the channel, which allows people to subscribe and get perks for the channel and they ended up raising 11,000 per month in subscriptions. The problem they had was because they worked at IGN they couldn't talk about current video games/ movies/ electronics etc. They were limited. Now they are going to devote all their time to the youtube channel and create an offshoot that covers games. They currently are running a separate gaming patreon that is almost to $2000 per month.

Didn't really have a direct fault of IGN to why they left, but they are considered a huge part of IGN and I wonder what this will do.

I did miss it, but maybe I don't need a reason to buy a slim...lol. I want to actually try and purge more in 2015 than obtain.

16gb vita cards hit the clearance cycle at my target. They'll only get down to $30 after the final drop (25%/35%/50%), and it'll also remove the last of the vita memory cards from inventory which is a little weird. Year of the vita?

Yup, i need that online trophy.

Others who got plat, did you beat main game first? Read something about online can screw up your game save or something?

Alright, two levels left in Geometry Wars. I've three starred all ove them up to this point, so I should be almost done with Adventure mode. I just got the dying time trophy too, which seems like it shouldn't be that tough to get but had a pretty low percentage.

Yeah I saved the MP trophy as my last one. That online save screw does sound familiar, but not sure if for that game or not.

Yeah, I beat the main game, getting all of its trophies first like Zimm. I did read that playing online can erase all progress in the campaign, so as long as you either play the online right away or save it until the very end, you should be fine.

I recommend looking at the trophy list beforehand so you know what to aim for while playing the campaign to minimize having to grind at the end.

I am going to plan to just play the online first. That way no save game damage issue to worry about. I think you are likely the only one of us that has started the SP.

EDIT: Couldn't you upload the save to the cloud before playing and then restore it after?
