anyone played the geneforge saga? I had eyeballed this series a few times, i think on GOG, but this price looks like it may be worth giving it a shot.

I could never bite the bullet simply because the graphics just look entirely too horrible. The games have a very good reputation though.

Uh if you want brutal I don't think you should be looking for Hidden Object games that are sold on Big Fish.

Go play some 2hard4u hipster pixel crap or something.

Hey at least I admit it.
(shrug) I don't want BRUTAL persay.. but a little difficulty never hurt. I play these kinds of games before I go to bed (normally).

And I can't believe you'd recommend pixel hipster games to me. That hurts. Like deep.

Someone on Reddit said click the info button for the Steam key.

That game just didn't respect your time.
On a related topic, I have Amalur + DLC on Steam. Got the CD key for the base game and added to Origin. Is there a way to get the DLC on Origin as well? Are there keys for the DLC somewhere in the Steam version? You know - for when Steam goes out of business and Origin is still around.

Thanks!

I went to the pub last night.

I woke up this morning with an ebay receipt saying that I'd spent £1.48 on "Pippa Funnell: Stud Farm Inheritance".

Drinking on a school night is neither big nor clever.

According to a thread on the Steam forum, once you download the game on Origin and activate it and play it, it should detect that you own the DLC. I can't personally vouch for it since I only own it on Origin and don't intend to rebuy it on Steam.

I posted this last night in the Android thread, I suppose I should post it here, since it's available on steam as well...

Colin McRae Rally is on sale for $2 (down from $5?) on GPlay and Amazon.

For me, it was free after coins.  Thanks Tony!

It's a port-of-sorts of Colin McRae Rally 2 (PSX, 2000).  I only played for a few minutes (with touch controls) but there seemed to be a physics model (yay)... unlike many on-rails mobile-racers.

Many similar reports on reddit, including for three other games they had on sale yesterday.

Thanks for the update. I really was kicking myself for not taking advantage of this "deal." Was curious whether it would pan out for the buyers that got in in time.

Same. I'm still gonna try getting Ace Combat from them for $3 though, seeing as that deal's still up.

Evil Within is apparently ~$16 at the moment there, still too rich for my blood though.

Real Horror Stories got cards? Real Horror Stories got cards.

What a time to be alive.
At this point Steam cards and my Steam wallet are becoming an annoying rash that won't go away. I had "finished" idling two days ago, check today and 47 cards to idle! Fun! And no matter how much I Snakeybro shit my Steam wallet keeps growing. When I Early Access Pre-Order Killing Floor 2 it should put a decent dent into it, but still. It's like Gaben keeps giving me Chuck E Cheese coins but I'm at Putt Putt.

Was that the one everyone made a huge stink

on Steam about being a mobile port?

I can point you to my wishlist if you think it will help. I'm always looking out for my fellow CAGs.

Also, #FirstWorldProblems.

For what it's worth, I picked up Rocksmith 2014 from Funstock without any problems.  I'd give them another go, but not if they continue to do business like this.

In other news, I started Valdis City the other day (only one year in the backlog!) and am enjoying it.  Anyone else here try it?

Yep. According to steam reviews they cut a number of cars and tracks from the original Colin McRae Rally 2. (Which explains its 200 MB size on Android.)

Getting a decent racing game on mobile for 199 coins is rather different than expectations for getting a "Real" steam game.

On PC you could always PCSX CMR 2, or try to get the old windows version working.

I prefer my games aged anyway. They taste better with time in the backlog.

It ain't no joke, especially those boss fights, but I liked it and found it decent metroidvania. I think at one point I reinstalled or something and lost a save file where I had put quite a lot of time in and just didn't feel like starting over.

I also tended to get F grades on the boss fights even at the easiest difficulty, but

so yeah.

*Edited to add: They were supposed to add some new characters and stuff a long ass time ago but I just checked and it looks like it still hasn't happened yet.

I think all I'm missing is Velocibox

I sure wish Bundlestars would get in the build-a-bundle business. Inevitably there are two or three games I'd really like to have, mixed in with a bunch of games I already own.

It'd be great for us, but bad for BS and the devs. Only one or 2 games would sell from each bundle lol

Yeah, I've found it surprisingly challenging. I've been avoiding spending any of my skill points and I constantly feel underpowered, and on top of that you really have to study the enemy patterns and think about how you want to attack and use all your various skills to best advantage. It's a lot less run and gun than I was expecting, but it does enough new to be refreshing and has the Metroidvania part down pat.

I just wish it ran at a higher resolution. It's a pretty-looking game, but seems to be designed for a mobile screen.

So expensive ass uber realistic dry plane simulator for Germans. PASS

Shark game at only 40% off of $25. PASS

Van Helsing II at 'the new 75%' when I haven't even played the first one and that first one has gone real 75% before on GG *Edit and in a bundle at the $1 tier. Forgot about that one since I already had everything in it at the time. Probably PASS

Definitely looking to pick this up in the future, but not until the price bottoms out. I have a feeling it'll happen sooner than later. And if not...well, I probably wasn't going to play it anyway. I just like sharks. (And I'm nostalgic for my deathmatch days, way back when.)

I panda'd Van Helsing II complete for $3.50 a month back, despite having not gotten around to the first one (also GG'd for $5/75% ahead of the $1 HB).

It reminds me of riding a caragor in shadows of mordor. I got a lot of satisfaction out of killing orcs with it.

I would note that the Van Helsing dev had been pulling a Bethesda... never discounting the DLC properly. It didn't hit 75% off the Summer Sale (nor the recent winter sale)... I didn't expect that... dumb move... go 75% off on a big steam sale before hitting Skid Row the bundle circuit.

It did that to me too. It let me join the group no problem but once I joined it said invite only, except I was already in it.

So, update on the Funstock drama. Reddit has banned deals from their store from being posted for the time being and contacted their rep who has posted there before to see what's up.

Also some dude said he emailed their customer service just asking about the status of his order and they refunded him, which wasn't what he asked for, so beware if you guys think about contacting them. They may creatively interpret that as a refund request.

If you wait until the price bottoms out for a multiplayer only game, its player base will probably have also bottomed out.
