Gator helped me get the 30 medals in gta 5 tonight. Then jhad two more trophies glitch on me. I finished the rampages and private fare for the cab co and neither trophy popped. fuck gta 5 trophies!
That really sucks. I hope you have a game save before the private fare one. I could see replaying the rampages causing that one to pop, but I am not sure that private fare one will spawn again.

EDIT: Speaking of GTA Online, I will be playing again tonight, but it is likely one of my last nights. I have about 200k left to go now. Once I get to 100 I will likely be done with the online unless some of you guys need help with quick things like the mugger or whatever. I will still have the 70 golds and a couple other to go, but that will all be single player. If you want my help with anything now is the time. I think between tonight and Saturday night, I should be able to finish up. I wont likely be on Friday unless I get on around 11:30 for a little while.

Pete/simmias, I'm not usually one to listen to people's opinions on JRPGs, but a lot of people in the Japanese Niche Games Deals thread in the main forum say that Tales of Hearts R had a lot of problems:

I beat hearts r shortly after it came out. Great battle system one of the best in the series. But the story is pretty meh and honestly leaves you rooting for the villain and disappointed that they failed. Character availability is pretty bad, the writing seems to have taken some liberties, some occasional grammatical errors and very static characters outside beryl. Beryl made the game for me. Also they took the boob jokes a bit too far this time not to mention the other ones...

Having only shing and hisui for too long was the biggest issue for me. I was not happy with the rest of the party joining so late. I can't imagine the drag for what the original version was like without gallando and charizard being playable.
I liked played Hearts R. It was a good game. The battle system was very enjoyable. The levels were great. The story was ridiculous and boring. Its basically "we hate you, die" "oh you beat me, lets me best friends and ill help you fight" rinse, repeat. It got real old real fast.
Man, I don't know about you guys but Hearts R was an easy 4/10 in my book. It's the embodiment of generic.
I have only done 1 full playthru (on 2nd now) & I find it extremely hard to play it again. My problems with the game:

-World map: No running, bland

-Music: Forgettable

-Characters: Kor/Shing is an awful MC, very generic indeed. Gall, Wings, and Beryl are alright...Kunzy's design is bad though. Sort of mixed on Kohaku, don't like how the story focused on her really
Are they full of BS? I still plan on platting it (maybe after Resogun) since I love the Tales series, but I was curious to know your thoughts.

Played a bit of REmake last night. It's pretty damn great. If you loved the original back in the day and missed the GameCube version, you really can't go wrong picking it up (seems like a good use of that 10% off code).

I haven't had to refresh a page yet to see my new posts, so maybe CAG is fixed for real this time.

You guys talking about Most Wanted and its rubber banding and needing the right cars has me a bit concerned.  I like arcade type racing games, but I also seem to get frustrated with racing games quickly when it seems like it has the "fuck you, you arent winning this race" bit set.  My usual powers of perseverance are tested with those.

If anything, hearing all that makes me feel like playing Hot Pursuit instead...unless that has similar issues.

I will be on tonight for sure. I'd like to try again for the mugger and bounty trophies at least and hope those pop...I also want to get at least rank 25 so I can get a couple other trophies knocked out.

The story is serviceable, certainly not Of Mice and Men but I was pretty entertained. I have zero frame of reference when it comes to Tales games though so I can't say how it compares. Seems about on par with what I remember of vesperia though in terms of quality.

I get the complaint about not having some of the characters longer I guess, but I only really used Kor and Chalcedony anyways so it didn't bother me. My biggest complaint is still the washed out color palette.

It's a Tales game on vita. It does a good job being exactly that I think.

Not sure if you people do the exercise or whatever, but Cartwheel right now has 30% of FitBit activity tracker things (not all models though).  Just bringing it up because the offer is gonna get pulled early, so if you want it, add it to your barcode now and you'll still be able to get the offer even after it's removed.  It's only good for two more days anyway.

That's interesting, considering Vesperia is usually considered the best Tales game. Thanks for your input.

Ignore them. The story is fine, actually above average for a jrpg in my opinion. Characters have ups and downs, but the skits are really well done and enjoyable and have a great sense of humor to them. Maybe a lot of these guys skipped the skits?

And the battle system is fantastic. I don't think anyone can dispute that.

Music isn't bad, either - the flying music is especially good. And I don't know what the guy who said he was pulling for the bad guys was thinking. Or the guy who said it was basically "I hate you, die." That makes me think they didn't play much of the game.

Is the online for Most Wanted pretty decent since you guys keep talking about it? I wouldn't mind hopping on there and fuck ing around a bit.

Also Hot Pursuit I've got a couple online trophies I'd like to boost since it's usually dead

It isnt that bad. If you are in front you pretty much always stay in front unless you crash. If you crash near the end you may get screwed, but if you have a really fast car with mods you can still win a lot even after crashing. And you can crash a lot in the beginning of a race and still finish first as well.

So far I've been really impressed with Most Wanted on vita. The needing the right cars thing might be a problem if the internet didn't exist to let you know everything about the game, but since it does I found out last night that the cars are mostly out in the open so you can snag a car you like, do a little legwork to mod it and be good to go. So it seems. I'm ending up in second place/tier for most races pretty easily without picking a good car or modding at all.

I'm not all that far in yet. It definitely does have a generic feel to it, but I had the same reaction to ToS and ToGf (which I also still haven't gotten far into.) The graphics and music are both kind of blah. The character designs feel really generic as well, and none of the characters so far are particularly interesting. I'm not sure if I like the character leveling system or not. Being able to point points into attributes and then having those attributes give you skills/weapons as you level up characters is fine in theory, but it feels like characters are intended for a certain build and that giving the player the ability to influence how well that works is a mistake. I do tend to prefer characters being well-defined rather than nebulous and generic, though.

I'm liking the battle system quite a bit. The game is fun and I really do like those character interactions that pop up now and again so the party talks amongst themselves. That's not a ToHr thing in particular, though--that's been around at least as far back as ToS.

So yeah, with the caveat of being nowhere near the end of the game...it's generic. Not a bad game, but very standard fare. Exactly what you'd expect from a Tales game, at least from my impressions of the games I've played so far. They all feel that way to me.

I like this thread because I've gotten to know how a lot of you guys approach different kinds of games and what people like and don't like. I know you and I like a lot of the same stuff, and Pete too. I think you'll enjoy Tales of Hearts R. I'll feel a little bad if you don't, honestly, because I've recommended it to you and others, so let me know your thoughts after you play it.

Maybe I wouldn't suck so bad at the races if all those trees and barricades and buildings didn't keep jumping out in front of me.

BTW, Mild: The game appears washed out because it's a 3DS port, don't forget. The textures are pretty low-end as well. I'm wondering if the technical restriction introduced any other limiting factors.

Yeah, it'd be nice if they would port one of the console ones now that they're done with the 3ds R ports, I'd totally be into that. jrpgs on the vita are like roast beef and not putting mayo on it because I'm not a sick fascist nazi.

I'm sure you'll find them and let us know.
Uh...I really wouldn't be able to notice something like that. I'm talking technical limitations of the 3DS versus the Vita. Other than the 3DS rendering at a very low resolution I don't know if there any other areas Nintendo skimped out on. Does the 3DS have an audio chipset on the same level of the Vita's? How big can 3DS games be and if there's a restriction did that have an impact on the game's content? Etc..

Vesperia PS3 ported to Vita and then getting even a text localization...

Sorry, I was being facetious.

4thHorseman, I just saw your post in the trophy thread.  You know you can post in here if you are looking for a boosting partner too.  Maybe you did and I missed it, but we all do that all the time.

Yeah, i realized that after I received a response there. If that falls through, expect to find a request here also.

So I suck pretty hard at NFS: MW. Took at least 10 tries to beat the first car on the Most Wanted list. And most of the cars I unlocked tonight had me struggling to get to third place in their easy race. Burnout treated me much nicer.
Think that's probably due to the inclusion of the mods, they make a huge difference in car performance as I've got almost all of them unlocked on one car in multiplayer and a few of the pro-mod versions. For instance, the pro version of the boost nitrous lets you burn it for at least twice as long.

Got Modfather (3 non-DLC pro mods) through normal public games / playing in a lobby by myself, mixed with completing a few events too and it took 6 hours. Just need the do a custom speedlist and hit a friend trophies for the base base.

Well don't I feel silly now, I didn't realize you are all playing the vita version. That's neat that the stats and billboard comparison tracking works cross-platform, too bad the multiplayer isn't cross platform too.

What they said. The story wasn't bad, and like simmias said the skits were fun. The battle system was great this time around (really enjoyed the counter mechanic personally). Yeah, a couple of the characters were pretty trope-ish, but again, I thought the skits made up for it.

I rarely switch from the main character in Tales games, so I can't really comment on character availability if you like to play as the others though. Overall, a fun portable tales game though.

I disagree on the billboard part because you fuckers jump too far.

Emphasis on "sh*t"--I don't want any of those except maybe Super Stardust HD, which isn't worth filling out that paperwork or lengthy online form.
Pretty much my thoughts too. I have to decide if I want to bother filling out those forms to get a digital copy of LBP 1. It would give me the option to go back and play the DLC at some point I guess. Likelihood of that happening is only slightly higher than me deciding to play Destiny though.

Just read a spoiler for the Gat out of Hell ending. If that was canon, and they really did that and moved the series forward from page 124...that'd be pretty awesome, I'm not gonna lie.
