Grabbed a Sonic at Walmart. Made an employee get him out of the back... now I just need Ike and MK and I'm happy for series 3.

 
Or GS could have notified people a week or two prior to release date instead of the day before release date (I was informed this evening that the release date was changed from 2/20 to 2/25). If I had known this, I could have bought Ikes from Target when they were available online while I was looking at my cart with three in it.

Oh, only when it is convenient for the retailer to hold the consumer's money in their bank account collecting interest on it up until the last minute.

Just started getting into Fire Emblem: Awakening and damn it, I really want the Robin and Lucina figures more than I've wanted ones since Captain and DeDeDe were first announced...
 
BBY is overnighting my Meta Knights from Fresno. King Dedede ordered last night are scheduled to arrive Monday. No email notification from Walmart, already checked spam/bulk folders.

The release date was 2/20. I was in GS yesterday (2/18) and they told me this. One day later I get Ike information and a pushed back date.
 
Well you're wrong. He paid in full months ago. This isn't charity. Everyone who liked this is advocating socialism. Those amiibo never make it to that store if he hadn't ordered them. Stop telling people what they can/should do with their amiibo because it's none of your business. This is simply bad business on Gamestop's part.
those amiibo still would have been sent to the store if he hadn't ordered them since they're only sending 1 per customer. You don't know if the people preordered before him and they could have easily just cancelled his whole order if they wanted.

I may be at GS Wednesday morning at 8 AM. If I had paid in full with cash, how are they going to cancel that?

I thought it was one per household.

I haven't kept up with the thread this time around, but has anyone (in the US) ordered one from Amazon Uk and had it take a while to show up? I ordered one in late January and it's now almost two weeks past the estimated delivery date.

i think there is a 99.99% chance the gamestop manager will not sell you 3 ike's on wednesday

by wednesday they will know how many ikes they are getting and will have plenty of time to read the memo and will have full knowledge that you buying all those ikes will cause a shortage and upset customers.

I think they would rather piss off 1 customer who ordered 3 and are still getting 1, then 2 customers who only ordered 1 and won't be getting anything

I think it will be got my meta knight posts... Best buy doesn't seem to be really messing up in store preorders lately... My hope is that when I pick up mega man they will accidentally give me a meta knight instead since they put so many aside

Yeah, I went in tonight to see if they could sell me mine. They said they couldn't, understandably, so I asked if they could *really* make sure they set mine aside. I was assured that if I pre-ordered, I'll be fine.

I'm putting my odds at an optimistic 80% that I'll get it...

(Only amiibo I pre ordered here before was Luigi, which they never called me about and had some on the shelf when I came to ask about it).

I already have an Ike (from Amazon.de). I pre-ordered from GS because they told me they would get them in for me. I paid them in full just so I could swing by to pick them up on release.

I took them for their word when they sold this to me. Should I offer them my business on anything else if they can't keep their word to me? This word that they just reiterated on 2/18 about my Amiibos being there for me.

I spend a good deal of money on gaming. It is my only hobby.

If they had told people two weeks ago that this might happen then people could have looked elsewhere, like Target, that had pre-orders available.

I pre-ordered my Ikes two months ago and paid in full yet people were ordering three Ike's this week from Target and not this much complaining was done to those people. All I saw was congratulations !!! Along with people talking about how they were going to use them in trades. Yet, I am the bad guy here because GS changes a policy after the fact and I am upset on principle alone.

Don't take my money on false pretenses and wait to the last minute to inform me what I have been told repeatedly was a lie. You will lose my business that way. That is about as bad customer service as Comcast.

Just tried to order Wave 4 from Yodobashi and had no luck. It won't let me enter my Tenso.com street address - the field is pre-filled in and I can't highlight/delete anything in it. I guess I have to wait for Amazon Japan or Toys R Us Japan. Don't think I'll have any luck on the European sites.

 
Cool beans! Speaking of  Amazon UK, I just got an email saying Mega Man has shipped. The transit time looks to be about a month but I'm in no hurry. I just wish my previous order would show up.

I don't feel like it. I will have a good discussion with someone that would like to have one. Jrr had some good points.

The main thing I see out of this is horrible customer service by GS, nothing more. I am really big on customer service. I worked in retail for years and fully appreciate someone / some company that treats their customers right.

Phone app shows what stores have things in stock. It said "in stock" on the app, so I went in and said "Hey, your app says you have it, I know you have it, sell me it." No street date on the box or anything so yeah.

If I get one or more I will be happy with that. I just feel GS has dropped the ball with a ton of customers by waiting up until the last minute. I don't know why some people are getting so mad about an individual expressing their opinion about this. Isn't that my right?

Just like it is someone's right to put me on ignore if I annoy them.

I will say it is good customer service.

Saving everyone from El Hoardo. Someone will ALWAYS lose no matter what. Just present your case to them, and see what they say. You have a valid point. You had your pre-orders in long before anyone else. I buy of certain figures. 1 to open, and 1 to keep closed.

I saw the limits coming on buying. Can't make everyone happy.
