Great, the PS+ promo when buying a PS4 isn't ringing up in the system at GS. Just how I want to spend my morning, trying to get this sorted out.

We're giving Destiny to our oldest for his birthday. So the question is should I fire it up too, or should I never touch it for fear that it will negatively affect my already abysmal trophy percentage?

Had someone spell something out phonetically for me on the phone and they said "p as in pito" pito is Spanish for penis

Wtf is this old lady thinking about o.0;;

Vig,

Did you cancel your Claptrap edition at BB yet? I've held out but think I'm going to cancel it now. Is it better just to wait and return it in store if need be? Think it will go above list value? I am getting it under cost after all with the 20%.

Of course I like for CAGs to win, but the goal is always to get more people to show up. I don't think it's going to be especially full or anything though. Ain't nobody heard of La Mulana.
What are you going to be drinking on tonight's stream? Or is this one of the "professional" streams?

I will be drinking regardless of course. Rochefort Trappist 8 tonight.

Not yet, but I think I'll wait until Wednesday to cancel it. I just don't see it being that worthwhile to sell off unless people are willing to pay $500-$600 for it, which I doubt will happen.

Yeah, I was just ribbing them. I might stop by. I don't have a Vita at the moment so a code would be useless to me, but this game looks interesting.

Mario Party 10 review in case there were some here interested in it: http://www.destructoid.com/review-mario-party-10-288816.phtml

I haven't enjoyed MP since MP5 on Gamecube, and it doesn't look like that's going to change.
I had fun with 9 playing with my little brother and sister and nephew. I don't think we ever played the main board game mode, but the mode where you had to fill in a garden with Tetris-like shapes you received by winning minigames was fun. There was also one where everyone started at the bottom of a set of steps and you moved up a step if you won a minigame. First one to the top won.

I also really liked Mario Party for the original DS. I don't think I played any of the Gamecube versions, but 1 & 2 were always fun on N64.

i went ahead and created a PSNOT NCAA Tournament bracket if y'all wanna join it. No prizes, unless people want to donate something to the cause. Mainly it's an excuse for everyone to root against Kentucky with more gusto.

MP2 was the best overall Party game with the varying themes and costumes while MP3 had the best single-player mode thanks to the many Duel games.

My type-0 ce is delayed until next week, don't understand that, and super bummed. I would try to check the local best buy in the morning, but I have to be at the doctor right when they open. I don't understand why it's so hard to get ces preordered in store at best buy. Only thing I hate about my switch from gamestop.
Happened to me with The Order even though I preordered months on advance.

I'll sign up in a but. Will probably do the worst since I mostly follow select teams.

I'll try to grab a Kentucky NCAA Championship t-shirt for a prize before it gets sent to Africa.

Suprisingly looking at pre-order sold listings on ebay they are going to around $550-$600 but I'm not sure if that's inflated right now. I like to usually have something in hand before listing it. Just not sure if the prices will hold.

The issue with you guys winning in his stream tonight is that everyone there will be going for the same codes.  On the nights where he is streaming a cross platform game you usually have great odds for getting a PSx copy.  Most of his viewers seem to be PC and Xbone people besides us.  That means it is usually just us fighting against each other for the batch of codes for PS consoles.

As long as there is enough codes for more than just pitfall to win, the odds are pretty good anyway.

Hey Pancakes, I just noticed an ad for Bladestorm and it says the game comes out on the 17th. how did you get it early?

How is Bladestorm? I have it on hold at my library, but I'm still curious.
Damn I'm really jealous of your library and Jeffs.

As for the game, it is made by KoeiTecmo, so you'll either love what they produce or not. It's just another variation of the musou gameplay but with an actual army instead of a single duped up character set upon the middle ages.

The Target B1G1 deal is crazy complicated. I just read a few pages of posts in the main forum and I am completely lost.   I guess the gist is that there really isnt anything to get excited over anyway.  But its ridiculous how vague the sale or promo is.

The gist is that Target is apparently incompetent to the point where a lot of games haven't been programmed correctly to be part of the promo.

On how annoyed you seemed to be with the game based on thread posts I am surprised at the positive review.
I can see that. It is really fun though once you get into it.

It's the old adage that people talk more if it's something bad then something good. Yeah I bitched a lot about some of the obscure shit, but the game was on my mind a lot and I found myself really anticipating getting back to it. I would definitely recommend it to someone on the fence despite some of my frustrations.

Jamestown+ does NOT have online multiplayer, FYI. Saw that in their post here, comment 10's response:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/04/30/jamestown-plus-coming-to-ps4-this-summer/

I guess you could try Shareplay, but I'm doubtful about how well that would work. Too bad my kids aren't into these types of games.
Wow, I just assumed it was online. I wasnt going to buy it right away anyway so this is just solidifying that since none of you assholes can talk me into getting it to play co op.

But since Bladestorm is more strategic compared to Dynasty Warriors and likely plays differently, I'm interested to know your thoughts on the gameplay.
Well it isn't much more strategic than Dynasty warriors.

A mission usually consists of me me running from capture point A to B to C, etc. until I reach the time limit or I captured a certain point. Mind you that it is really barebones in objectives compared to your usual DW. It was excellent back when it came out in the early 2000s but they have done virtually nothing to improve combat and the overall game itself. The AI is pretty horrid. More than once I seen the AI get stuck at a wall/bridge and just end up standing there. If I order my AI partner to take a point or to go to that point, I end up finishing the game before they ever get halfway there. This game feels more like an expansion that should have came out years earlier.

Combat consists of holding R1 for auto attack, mixed up with the Triangle, Square, and Circle buttons for abilities which are replenished by time.

In the game they do have the sort of the Fire Emblem element of certain types of weapon holders (and creatures in Nightmare mode) are stronger/weaker against others but it is implement pretty poorly. I just maxed out my unit in the sword category and just wiped out hordes

One big critique I have for the game is the long ass travel between points. It is so fucking monotonous. I mean they have speed powerups but you are fairly limited in those. It 's worse than Order 1886 walking. You can choose the horse option (which is another category like swords/spears/etc) but they suck. Worse than Zimm's prom night.

Let's not go into details on the graphics as in don't expect it to be beautiful. I mean at all. Thankfully I could care less about that but I found the objects popping on the screen hilarious.

For the story, well you don't play Koei games for the story. You've come to the wrong place if you are expecting anything more meaningful than "I don't like you, let's fight".

I feel like I'm bashing it too much but I really like it. They have books which are essentially classes that are your skins for the games. Most tend to just roll over the same skills and equipments. I love that you can equip up to three classes before the game begins so you can not only switch units when you see them in game, you can do it on the fly too. Oh and edit mode, I just love it. If you played FF Tactics Advance, you know you could send out units to do missions and come back after a certain amount of "days". Well the same thing applys here except the time is actual game time so I can go to work/school and start up the game to see that the unit I sent out got some sweet armour.

Overall, I still love it since I'm a fan of Koei and these types of games. I honestly don't see it scoring it higher than a 6-7 at the major reviewers as they tend to score DW-esque games fairly low besides that Zelda game and Bleach (which honestly was one of the worse games to play. Dude who reviewed it just had a hard on for Bleach).

Pancakes is a liar.   First he said peach flavored Blue Moon was good.  Now he says he doesnt care about the Bladestorm graphics, meanwhile last night he told Derek and I that it had "PS3 graphics, ewww".

I should change it to care to a point where it makes me really neg the game. I was just really surprised how awful the game looked at some points. I read the frame rate gets 15-20 at times. If it got a graphical upgrade since it first came out, I can't tell.

EDIT: Blue Moon Belgian White is their best for sure. Horchata has got to be their worst. So since I'm a liar, then you should really try out the Horchata Blue Moon.

i totally missed the helldivers defend mission. hit me up when you see another one of those. i spent most of the day outside yesterday playing with my grrl and kids. beautiful outside.

Since ESPN cant seem to manage to send me a verification email, I will have to annoy the people who do not care about the Tourney picks...

You guys have boring as hell names for your picks.

Back in the PS4 family today, just got home from GS.  The year of PS+ with buying a new system promo wasnt working in the system so after a bit of headache (and probably 45 minutes altogether waiting for it since he was the only employee in the store and the place was surprisingly packed for a Monday morning) he ended up doing a return/rebuy and discounting the system by $50.  So after using a $25 coupon from PUR, I effectively paid $30 GS credit to get a brand new system, warranty, controller, TLOU digital, a year of PS+, and $10 PSN money.  All in all I'd say that's a deal!

I also went and renewed my car registration this morning....only to be told that I needed to go to another town since I live on the border of two and despite my mailing address being for town A (and where I registered last year), apparently my physical address is in town B so I had to drive over there and get it taken care of.  Now with that said I'm gonna have a beer with my lunch...
