This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

It has had regional pricing on GOG all along since they put it up. I guess One World One Price doesn't apply when it's their game.
It's classic case of Do like we say - not like we do.

Sure they can blame Bandai Namco and Warner Brothers, but it's still your game and your prices.

Never played an NES game? Cause I sure as shit felt a sense of achievement when I finally beat SMB, Ghost and Goblins, Bayou Billy, Rush N Attack, and TMNT.
It's possible that my bar for "feeling a sense of achievement" is set slightly higher than it was when I was thirteen years old.

You've been trying to stir up drama in multiple threads on CAG lately. How about you stop.
Don't listen to him. Mo' drama, mo' entertainment...

That's foolish. You can get much more value for $60. That's just the publicity talking; someone told you you needed to have it for $60, and you agreed. You morans know I'm right. Your reasoning is bad, and you don't even realize it.
Honestly, sometimes I just don't care about value. I've put in a good 10 hours or so into Bloodborne already, I'm happy with my decision to get it at full price.

Only Toasters care.
Heh, our toaster died and I had to get a new one. All of the sudden, I find myself in the store explaining who mysterd is to a 4 year old.

lul.

edit: so my kids think the new toaster is my robot friend mysterd from the internet, or something along those lines.

The only reason I can see for preordering or buying day 1 is to beat the game before your friends. My max for any game purchase is half of MSRP, which only happens with good first-party Nintendo games. Otherwise, the game can just sit on the store shelf collecting dust. This is Cheap Ass Gamer, not "Preorder Full MSRP So I Can Be The First To Max Out My Spartan And Pwn 10 Year Olds Online In Halo 5" Ass Gamer.

Hype consumerism and +1 consumerism are completely different.
I mean, for me games fall into three categories: games I really want (rare, Will happily pay full price for on a pre order because I want to play it immediately), games I want (want to play, but with backlog the most I'll ever pay is 7.50, like I did for far cry 3 deluxe, but this often is either five bucks/75% or more off or bundled), abd games I don't want (never buy). Buying full pricE isn't the best value, but i buy video games more Because I like to play them than because I live for deals

Multiplayer games have a limited shelf life. If there's a MP game I really want then I'll buy it at/or near release. Killing Floor 2, for instance.

Why would you pay for a $60 game when it can be had for less with BBY GCU.
fuck Best Buy and their stupid pay-for-a-discount scam. Also fuck consoles in the Steam thread. I'll take my discounts for free, thank you very much.

CAG is a great place to hear both people defending a $60 Day 1 purchase and bitching about an 8-game bundle for $2.50.

I bought the best buy thing when it dropped to thirty bucks. It'll more than pay for itself in wii u exclusives

So I am actually dying to play Bloodborne. It's just that I would have to buy a PS4 to do it. This console generation has been really lacking in great games so far, so I just can't justify it. More importantly, I have gotten used to getting games ridiculously cheap on PC. The thought of having to shell out $30 for one game (on sale), much less $60 seems like utter madness to me now. Best case scenario, you're looking at games dropping to about $20 where they bottom out on console. I look at the Dawn of War II Grand Master Collection at $20 and can't help but wonder whether it will drop further. I mean $20 for one game???

Only if the dev/publisher controls the servers and can cut players off when the new game comes out. Otherwise, there is nothing stopping you and your friends from playing a MP game long after it has been out.

In fact, as much as I want KF2, I won't bother getting it unless a bunch of my friends get it too. I don't waste my time playing in PUGs anymore.

I play mostly with people I know, so I guess I should have been clearer in that respect. If a lot of my friends are buying a particular MP game that I want to play that definitely influences my buying decision. I can't think of a MP game that I'd buy into early just to play pubs. If I had to resort to pubs for a particular game then I'd be in no hurry to buy.

That being said, I played KF early on before my friends bought it and enjoyed the community in that game for some reason. I have friends buying KF2, but I wouldn't be reluctant to try a public server for that game, in light of my experience with the previous title.

The season pass contains the bleu cheese and the celery. Sauce options are available as standalone DLC.
This is pretty much how it works at my preferred wing place. You get the heat index for free(mild, medium, hot, x-hot, etc.) but if you want an actual flavor(thai chili, parmesan peppercorn, kentucky bourbon, etc.) you have to pay an extra amount per denomination of wings(25?). Celery, bleu cheese, and toast are also an extra cost, but ranch is included.

Ranch is free??? Thanks for nothing. No self-respecting wing connoisseur would eat wings with ranch.

Honestly, I agree. Not a lot of games out there right now justify spending the money on a console. Bloodborne is awesome though, I'm actually going to go play it now. :booty:

I don't know where you shop, but $20 is at least 2 times more than where current gen console games bottom out.

Thought about getting a PS4 for Bloodbourne, but the frame rate is horrible, way too much loading, and online is a broken mess. If they get those fixed, there's a high chance I'll get one by the end of the year. The art and gameplay look much better than other Souls games.

I could use a new Steam sale to spend all card moneys on. Maybe the Easter Bunny will bring one this year.

Visually Bloodborne looks great but I hear it's easier than Dark Souls 1.  Still wouldn't buy a PS4 just to play one game, though.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I was just browsing through my Goupees Greenlight bundles and saw Steam keys have been added for a few games:

Build a Greenlight Bundle 11

-An Imp? A Fiend!

Build a Greenlight Bundle 13

-Battletank: L.O.B.A.

Build a Greenlight Bundle 17

-12 Labours of Herculues

Build a Greenlight Bundle 20

-Why So Evil 2: Dystopia

-Eron

EDIT: Looks like motoki mentioned this already in the Keys Added Group. I guess I've fallen behind on checking the updates lately.

Yeah I might have to fakeybro KF2 as well. Gotta level those perks!

And speaking of KF2, there is a PC Gamer video up with some interview questions and gameplay:

That sounds like a shitty wing place. Around here you can choose any sauce with any order. You have to pay extra if you want more sauce variety, like 3 different sauces on a 10 wing order. Celery and your choice of blue cheese or ranch are free. Fries and a drink are extra. Never been to a place that serves toast with chicken wings.
