 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

Lucky. I got the following:

Heat Guy J Heat Pack
Armitage Dual Matrix
Little Snow Sugar Fairy Volume 1 SE
Yoko Ishida CD (which I already own)
Appleseed 1 DVD (own the Steelbook)
Dragon Hunters: It's a Dragon's Life

MovieStop is getting some more anime. :/
Some of those are usually $1 or $5 blind boxes. Very lame of you Rightstuf...

Sakura Trick is getting a dvd/bluray release right? I remember it being mentioned a long time ago but haven't heard anything since.
Sentai has rights to it and it has been awhile so probably soon. Most of the other shows that aired that block are already out on BD.

Glad to see Kantai Collection & The Testament of Sister New Devil are getting a 2nd season at the end of the year.
same here, but i am really disappointed in kantai collection, being too slice of life.

The Testament of Sister New Devil is a better version of highschool dxd. i just hope they calm down with the censor bars

Best Buy is having a Sentai sale. All the Blu-rays are $29.99-$34.99 for the 12-episode sets and $44.99-$49.99 for the 26-27 episode sets.

Yeah, I went into it expecting girls with guns ala Arpeggio, GuP, Upotte, etc. So it was a little disappointing at first. The characters were nice though. Kongou is best Kantai.

i hope it would be more action in season 2, since it already being confirmed.

aldnoah zero season 2 was disappointing end to a series.

So you're saying DxD has no plot whatsoever? No. DxD actually has a plot. At first, it was initially about the conflicts between Angels, Fallen Angels, and Devils with Issei and the Occult Research Society thrown into the mix (because of their ties and Sacred Gears). now its about Issei+Gang and his allies  teaming up to stop the Strongest Devil from awakening the 666 Monster, a beast so strong that God himself couldn't destroy.

Depending on how much Season 3 adapts the LN material, it can only get interesting from here.

I was actually disappointed that Shimakaze didn't get more screentime in Kantai Collection, shes my favorite in that series besides Fubuki.
i actually don't like fubuki at all. i also wonder why they cut out the admiral, every time they show the admiral it is from a viewers perspective. we never get to see what he looks like. it really takes out of the experience watching it.

They did that to avoid contaminating the cute girls with icky men. It's not that unusual. The admiral is the player self-insert. They don't wanna ruin it by attaching a face like they did with im@s. Producer with a P for a head is canon producer.

And Fubuki wasn't too bad for her good girl archetype. I usually don't like her type of character but she was sufficiently cute.

Amatsukaze > Shimakaze.

Yup, does it ce with the calender, otherwise it's the same as the regular.

So my Rightstuf Pi Day blind boxes came in...

Armitage Dual Matrix (which I already own)

Heat Guy J Heat Pack (contains vol 1, 2, and 3)

Heat Guy J vol 1 with artbox

Thanks for sending me vol 1 of Heat Guy J twice Rightstuf. Appreciate it....

That is tempting but I can wait for a $19.99 price I have too much anime to watch anyways.I just started watching cowboy bebop on blu ray and I gotta say they did a DAMN good job on the transfer.
Agreed, looking forward to similiar future projects

Edit: so i know clannad is popular, but i really know nothing about it. Worth the buy?

I watched it pretty recently and it holds up really well. Season 1 is good though After Story is where most people were hit hard. I would recommend Little Busters and Little Busters: Refrain as well since it mostly follows the same formula.

On another note The Cat Returns and Spirited Away blu-rays are listed on Amazon now. They aren't too cheap though I bet they will be on sale at launch just like every other recent Ghibli blu-ray.

Ghost in the Shell 25th Anniversary BD down to $10.68 on Amazon. It is also available for $10.57 through Westcoastmedia w/ prime for those who get taxed. I know people complained about the subs but for ~$10 I think it is worth it.

I was pretty disappointed by the quality of the BD. It was originally done with cels, but compared to Mononoke Hime's transfer, it's really crappy. (They were originally only released two years apart.)

I got the 25th anniversary because the non-2.0 version included with 2.0 is awful quality. Now I have them both in good quality. Plus, I imported the Steelbook, and it's really cool. Lol

Anybody have exprerience ordering from http://www.secondspin.com/ ?

They're having a 41% off sale and I found their selection much better than gohastings, which has the same sale. Got a bunch of Miyazaki blus for $11.xx + tax and some other goodies. The last time I ordered Miyazaki blus from gohastings, I didn't get any slipcovers so getting some from Second Spin would be a huge bonus.

Is this supposed to be for the $1 Blind Box? I got burned with the $3.14 ones, not sure if I should order these again. :/
