So I redeemed my free month of Sling TV since the NCAA games were on TBS today for some reason.  I really wanted to wait but oh well.  Anyway, I am not super impressed at this point.  A lot of freezing and restarting.  Makes me worried to watch The Walking Dead finale tomorrow.  Anyone else having issues? I have 50mb/sec internet.

 
If other networks would join in (Fox sports 1 and NBCSN), I'd jump on it in a heartbeat. I just use my buddy's FiOS login to use the apps instead.

I really don't miss TV much. We'll see how I feel when the NFL season starts... I'm probably going to grab a digital indoor antenna and see how it picks up soon...
 
Too little, too late. 500 GB hdds go for about $50 (if not lower) and are much better choices at this point. I have like 6 32GB Flash drives I bought years ago that just filled up so fast. It's almost comical to think the largest external storage the 360 had was 512 MB at one point.

Yeah, I've been considering buying the Psychonauts PS2 Classic for PS3 on PSN since the regular price for the download is only $4.99, but most of the reviews say that it has frame rate issues and that the audio is off in the cutscenes. Still, $4.99 isn't that expensive. Hmm...
 
I actually hated psychonauts when I tried to play it a few years ago. It was back when some of us were doing "four for February" and if I remember correctly Junpei picked it for me cause he and others loved it. Guess it just didn't click for me. Would almost feel obligated to grab a remaster to try again though

Could anyone confirm that yet? 128GB is still pathetic but hey I wll take it anytime over 32 GB sticks....(although the price of these usb sticks are expensive compared to just getting hdds with much more storage)

 
The beauty of today's Internet speed saves me a lot of trouble with storage space, I actually don't need much. With fiber optics it takes me few moments to download 6 gig game. I choose what I wanna play in download queue, and download it fast. And I keep around games that I actually use and play, if the game sits there for few months without use it gets deleted "when in doubt throw it out"  Did my spring cleaning recently hehe

All the superfast internet will help you nothing when the day comes, and MS pull their servers. No more chance to redownload. No more chance to update games or give them the patches they need to play (day 1 patches of games that don't run withlut them properly)

I hope they confirm this and allow us to make bigger partitions from an HDD already plugged in. I have a 500GB external drive which I use with my 360 when I want to play one of the games I have on it, and I would hate to see the storage go from 32 to more and not being able to keep my downloads/saves on there.

I understand, but when I'm completely done with the game I say: "thank you for entertaining me, it was a blast. Now I have to move on." There's small chance of likelihood that I'll come back to that game. I might keep it for as long as I can if the game has very high replay value, but today games are coming out pretty quickly - better and better, more and more. hehe what's the point of getting worried about MS pulling down their servers. Games are like a bus in 30 min there will be another one.

While we're on the subject, I have a question, because I'm an idiot when it comes to these things.

Is it worth $6 per month to go from 75 Mbps to 150? I know the general consensus is more is always better but I'm just not sure if it will make any difference at all.

depends on how many people are on your connection or what you are trying to do but I would say $6 is well worth doubling your connection. Won't see a difference on websites or gaming but if you're downloading/torrenting alot I would say it is worth it.

Cool, thanks! Yeah, we have me, my wife and three kids all using it so things grind to a halt pretty often. I haven't torrented since college so that's a non-issue but if it makes X1 and 360 downloads faster then I'm all for it. Downloading Ryse was an epic three day battle that I'd like to avoid in the future!

ha yea for $6 to double is well worth it for a family of 5 and if you're suffering some slow speeds. Prob everyone watching netflix or youtube, that really eats up bandwidth.

And yea it should make the downloads faster on consoles (they really don't say how fast downloads are transferring) but regular gaming shouldn't have much of an impact but chances are you will have a slight edge against others in multiplayer.

I hated it but not a huge halo fan. I'm more interested in the story but herd that it takes place in an alternate universe...........which kinda turns me off. I think they're gonna kill off master chief and gage how the fans react. They hate it go back to the main story line, if it's accepted they will continue this "alternate universe".

The commercial tonight did not seem to indicate any sort of alternate universe. It does indicate that MC is being hunted though by a Spartan.

my cousin was telling me this, I didn't actually read it myself but I can see using an alternate universe to reverse anything they do like kill off master chief which they do seem to be leading towards.

From what I can tell this alternate universe is the same as the one we are used to but will take a different turn this next game.

A quick google search will bring up several 360 emulators (like Xenia) that already exist. And while I have very little doubt that these things are even close to 100%, they will be worked on and updated. More importantly, the entire 360 library will be preserved as rom downloads, so no game will ever be unplayable after Live shuts down.

Also, is anyone else having problems downloading on xbox 360? I'm constantly hit with the "Can't download GAME" message. Nothing comes up in service alerts at the moment.

 
My 15,000 credits from Rev 2 showed up on the rewards site today. Next deposit is April 9th though.

As for all this dying XBL talk, not all games will be preserved. At least not in a totally playable state. Online stuff like Destiny will take a lot of modification and/or privately hosted servers to become playable. Important stuff like patches needs to be backed eventually too, which I haven't really heard of being done yet.

As for emulators, the modern day stuff that isn't Wii is a joke that really can't be discussed as viable, and won't be for a long while. PS3 won't be emulation capable for years thanks to the cell processor. The best I've seen there was a 2D game, that ran like shit with no sound. Even PS2 emulation can be fairly complicated still.

I got booted off LIVE about an hour ago while playing Spartacus. Not sure if it was my internet having a brain fart or an actual issue with LIVE. No issues since then however.
