Just got a loud knock on the front door. I open it and UPS and FedEX trucks were here dropping Witcher 3 goodies. FedEX dropped off the CE guide from Amazon and UPS dropped the game and Steelbook from BBY. I'm surprised they both showed up at the same time. Steelbook was Mint after peeling off the sticker on the back.

Guess I'll play some Bloodborne.

So sad if you guys don't know who Don Martin is. :(

Mad Magazine glory days.
I had a few of his paperbacks along with some of the Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions by Al Jaffee but I think they got donated years ago. I also remember some store, very likely a McCrory's, had a bunch on a book rack that I would read through while my mom shopped.

My steelbook had the sticker on the inside for some reason, but it was undamaged. Same goes for the game and guide.

Unlike you, though, I plan on starting it tonight. :boxing:

I was hoping for a brawl but nothing.

If there's a fight in the future are the packages in both trucks up for grabs? If so I'm going to order more stuff off Amazon and Best Buy.

No price info yet. But hey, all preorders get the Just Cause 3 "closed beta" (isn't that a demo since it's single-player only?), so there's that.
Is that real? The actual website is madmaxgame.com and there's no mention of an interceptor edition. Also, Just Cause 3 is being published by Square Enix so why would a WB game have the demo?

It might be fake, but I got the image from this article. Both games are being developed by the same studio, so is it that odd for a demo for their other game to be added as a bonus?

Kickstarter update #52 for Soul Saga: still no game.  That makes 52 times it's fooled me.

Although the beta testers apparently complained so much about a Game Over screen in a game designed to evoke the tough SNES JRPGs of the past that he is changing it to automatically reload you to the point when you last visited an inn or something, since apparently modern gamers don't know how to save.

fucking modern gamers.

I always find it funny when I hear people think its strange to eat certain foods with forks. If something is messy like Poutine its just easier and a lot less messy to eat with a fork. Why lick my fingers and have to wash my hands after if I dont need to? I am sure Jimbo will love to hear this, but there is a pizza place near work that is one of the best in Tampa as far as I am concerned. But their pizza crust is really crispy so its easier to eat with a knife and fork so thats what I do.

Eating pizza with a knife and fork would probably kill Gator and Jimbo.

"It isnt pizza if you cant pick it up and fold it before stuffing your face with it!"

-Jimbo
I'm all for eating big heavy sloppy pizza with a fork, but my dad used to eat those Tombstone cardboard pizzas with a knife and fork and we always made fun of him for it.

Oh, I know they were free. (I was going over the list of Instant Game collection titles from wikipedia)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Instant_Game_Collection_games_(North_America)#PlayStation_Vita

Apparently I never bothered to download them. (Usually I click download and then cancel the download, and re d/l the game for when I actually want to get around to playing it). And I've been a Plus member since 2011 so that's not an issue.
Why do you do the download/cancel thing instead of just buying the games through the web store?

Either I did a very poor job in selecting all free PS Plus titles in previous months for vita or the store doesn't like me.

Mutant Mudds, Dokuro, Unit 13, Luftrauses, none of them are showing up as download options when I search for each title in the store.

I guess I could spend an hour going through my download list and see if they're in there.
Use that javascript trick. Run it, take a dump, come back and filter by Vita.

I'm not really digging how the blog doesn't show sales anymore and instead just links you to the store. Having to go through page after page of game grids with games showing up multiple times is a bit of a pain.

I'm picking up the Prince of Persia bundle since I bought the hardcover guide for cheap and never used it or bought the game. Like a dummy I bought the DLC on sale on 360 but never saw the digital game go on sale. I'm sure a disc is super cheap but I'm trying to clear out physical space and don't wanna add to my pile.

I'll also grab the Sound Shapes and Motorstorm RC bundles. I think RC has multiplayer if anyone wants to play.

Just buy it for 1.99, beat it and throw it away.

I didn't realize people didn't know this. So I guess it's good that the article it out there. It just seems like common sense to me, $300K to make a game like Yooka-Laylee is obviously impossible.

I don't think developers are being as intentionally misleading or "underreporting their budgets" as that writer suggests, but maybe they should make sure to clarify right on the KS page that they're only asking for a percentage of their total budget via Kickstarter.
I think some people feel like devs go on Kickstarter just to complete a project. Like they funded as much as they could out of pocket and now they can't afford to finish the game unless they get funded.

On the other hand you have games like Yooka and Bloodstained that seem ridiculously early in development and don't really have much to show except a concept. Are both games coming in late 2016?

Ultimately it's up to the developer how they pitch it and to be truthful about how far into development they are. People have to decide how to giveaway their money. It really is a risk.

Personally I try to stay away from Kickstarter funding since I'm a cheapass and would rather wait for reviews. With a lot of products it seems like the devs get too ambitious with stretch goals when they raise so much or they underdeliver. They can pitch a great concept all day but if they can't execute it then that leads to disappointment.

Good question. I haven't started using the web store faithfully until recently. And I think there were a few times where I didn't just automatically select all the IGC titles due to lack of interest. (Which I'm now coming to regret)

any tips for Crazy diff. for pvz???

playing with randoms is brutal
You're the god of Pvz though. I have faith in you.

Though, you're not gonna get that with randoms. There's also a level that has a garden near a large cliff that you can jump up to as a peashooter only. No idea what it's called, but there's a beach.

i did it the other day. so any one can do it. the main tip is to believe in yourself. it doesn't get hard til after round 10. then run like hell. and cheese all your self revives. everyone was dead but me, but i had 2 revives that lasted 18 seconds and there were 30 secs left on the clock. just waited til 15, revived and died, then waited til 2 revived and bam get me the hell out of there. everyone gets the trophy if one of you gets it. ill help if you are on ps4. i got it with randoms and no mics, but i was carrying the team. if you get a good team it is a breeze. i dont know if any of you know kaiser but we got to round 10 like 3 times in a row but never made it out alive.

also i didn't know this, but don't starve giants edition for vita is free if you got the ps4 ps+ version. seperate lists too i believe. that game is like work. like an unfun minecraft. i might play some more later. idky

As soon as I first tried the web store after they implemented it there was no turning back for me, it is just so much quicker and easier to track sales, compare prices, and look stuff up. The last time I booted up the store on a console was when the download queue's weren't functioning, before that it had been months since I'd used them.

We came home from our honeymoon today, very nice to be back after a few days away.  Opened up all the wedding gifts and we mostly got money, which is pretty cool.  Perks of marrying an Italian woman with a big Italian family!

Stopped on the way back to pick up my Witcher 3 CE preorder from Best Buy and what a disappointment it turned out to be.  They didnt have any steelbooks which were supposed to be given out with any preorders prior to mid-April, they screwed up my preorder $10 bonus despite claiming that changing payment methods wouldnt matter (wanted to use some GC's from recent trade ins), and the box has VERY noticeable damage.  Couldnt exchange cause it was the only one in the store.  Ugh.

The web store certainly isn't perfect, though. The main thing I dislike about the web store is the inability to specify which system to download a game to. "Download to all your XXX" is pretty damn useless if you have multiple systems tied to the account. The other issue is the inability to download all related DLC in a single click. For example the Motorstorm RC and Sound Shapes items that now take up the first 147 of my download list items.
