I like it. 1-4 years for first offense and possibly an 8 year ban for second offense. Finally some punishments that will actually make the competitors weigh their options between cheating and the risks of getting caught.[/quote]
I guess, but I'm especially worried we're going to start losing out on some of the great fights we want to see. We already lose a ton of them due to training injuries, I'm sure we're going to have a steady stream of suspensions for awhile.

Jesus, even weed will carry 1-3 years. We're going to lose a ton of fighters' prime years to a substance that's legal in plenty of states and has no performance effects.

Wolfenstein is a special game. It really makes me want to get Old Blood but I've heard it's not as good. Maybe I'll buy it to support the dev since I got New Order on clearance... naw, who am I kidding? I'm too cheap. I'm installing my own dishwasher for Christ's sake!

Anyway, this game really stood out over the last 30 or so games I've played. You should all check it out and I would recommend it at any price.

Bought a new tablet on Gamestop.com as part of a "up to 30% off" sale and sure enough it's sealed, brand new in box.

Asus 7 inch tablet with 16 GB for $60 (original price tag shows $109) and looks like a smaller version of my 10 inch Asus tablet. I plan on using it away from home for comics, magazines, books, Spotify, and videos on Google Play. I'll try some various apps I have sitting on the bigger tablet to see if they are worth keeping.

I just can't believe how good of a deal I got. Even their deals on Kindles are cheap.

1.13mil on Spelunky today.

Saw you ate it in 4-2 Soph. Total bullshit that they have a dark level when you're looking for that gold door to City of Gold. Spent about 4 minutes in that level just looking for the damn thing.
Sweet, nicely done!

I actually screwed the run way before 4-2; clambered onto the edge of a tiki trap in the Jungle and somehow didn't even register it as such. So I lost my ankh early and decided to just have fun with the plasma cannon as much as possible in the Temple.

But yeah, that dark level was awful. Eventually a shopkeeper went all Agent Smith on me and dodged a plasma blast then proceeded to barrel into my face and toss me to death as the ghost was closing in. Glad one of us had a good run at least!

Are you in the prologue part? You should just do story stuff to start until you hit like level 6 then you can go back and get some of the exploration areas done. Game kind of hinders you from that at first so that you level up and get better gear. It's worth it though.
I don't think I'm in the Prologue anymore. I'm in the second big area (beat the griffin, went to some castle, now I'm here). I'm almost level 4 so I guess I'll wait a little longer before exploring side stuff. My other complaint about the open world is that Geralt's running and jumping are too wonky to get around easily. I feel like I'm frequently running into hills that are a little too steep to walk up and ledges that are just barely too high for me to jump on. I'll stick with it, though.

Is that Black Hole trophy rare because the goals are hard or because no one wants to spend more than a few minutes playing that boring ass table?

Probably both. Goals take patience because you have to build up a huge bonus (I'm pretty sure) and it's an older table which aren't as well received. Plus it's part of the base game (not DLC) so it gets that boost from anyone that ever fired it up.

Wait. Table? Is futuridium a pinball game?

Nevermind I see Paul started talking about the pinball even though the conversation Zimm started was about Futuridium.  Great job PAUL!

The Unity DLC is pretty annoying.  There are so many guards and bad guys around that every corner you turn someone sees you and goes on alert.  I got one trophy and will finish the story tonight for the one gold but doubt I will bother with anything else.  I am just over it now.  Need to move on.

There is a bronze trophy for 100% synch.  That includes the objectives in the story and ALL the collectables (98 of them after getting damn near 400 in the main game!) and doing most of the missions and other side objectives on the map.  fuck that noise.

Fun Fact Friday:

I have an uncle who is a famous author and has appeared on Oprah and Donahue several times. His daughter may have briefly had a job as a dallas cowboys cheerleader, but I've never been able to independently confirm that.

What is her name? I am sure Stotch can find her. Hell I can find her if she was a Cowboys cheerleader. I bet there is some fan site dedicated to all their past and present cheerleaders.

UFC using World Anti-doping Agency testing starting July. Year-round random testing and multi-year suspensions for even first failure. Yeesh.

I agree, a lot of fighters are likely going to get suspended. I would not be surprised if you see an announcement soon about GSP returning after this though.

With all the talk about concussions in sports why is UFC and boxing even still around?  The only way to win is to physically hurt the other person.

Dog fighting is even illegal now. But human cock fighting is ok I guess. I have watched a few MMA / UFC fights when it first started becoming more mainstream. But I haven't kept up with it in recent years.

Since you guys have been playing the Unity DLC, is it possible to go back to the main game easily once you start it? I'm not super far into the campaign but accidentally started the DLC by going to the wrong mission marker. Watched the opening cutscene and quit cuz I was annoyed.

You have to finish whatever mission you are in first. Then you can fast travel back to Paris. Annoying as fuck

If you can, you should try going back to the Prologue area and clear it out in terms of "?" locations (especially Places of Power for the free ability points; I think there are 6 total on that map) and whatnot. The highest level of anything in that area is (IIRC) 7, so you should be able to find enemies that you can handle. You should also try to find the schematics for the Viper Silver Sword--it's a fantastic weapon (only requires Level 1) that I have yet to replace even though I'm at Level 10, and it will help immensely when fighting monsters.

If money becomes an issue, be on the lookout for beehives that you can cast Igni on to scavenge for honeycombs. Herbalists pay a large amount for those compared to other shopkeepers.

UFC fighters rarely end up with that kind of head trauma. A punch from another human, especially with gloves on, is very unlikely to ever cause a concussion. Unlike boxing, the referees stop it once a fighter is not defending themselves. That means the fighters rarely end up getting repeatedly pummeled to cause massive head injury like what has happened a few times in boxing history.

Will they all still end up with CTE later in life? Quite possibly, but nobody really knows at this point. My guess is most of the people in MMA won't give a shit about the long term effects just like it seems most football players don't.

As a fan of both sports, football seems like it does way more damage to the competitors bodies than what UFC fighting does. They certainly are much more likely to end up with concussions at least.

Of course dog fighting is illegal. They have no choice if they want to participate or not. Calling UFC human cock fighting is a bit of a joke. It isn't two man enter one man leaves like Thunder Dome for god's sake.

That sounds like a lot of work and boring... but maybe I'll do it.

Edit: Don't get me wrong, the game is solid. It's just not grabbing me yet. If/when it does, there will be a ton to keep me busy. I think one of the hurdles is I'm coming off playing Dark Souls 2/Bloodborne and the combat doesn't feel as good as that.

Agreed. If grown men want to beat each other up for money I don't care. I also don't find it that interesting anymore. I did watch it when the UFC events were in the single digits to maybe 20 or so.

Going out specifically to search for beehives? Yes, totally boring.

Doing something else while remembering to watch for beehives? Not nearly as boring. It's also totally unnecessary soon after the Prologue, as I have more money than I need. The worst thing I can say about Witcher 3 so far is that merchants don't seem to have enough money for me to sell off my excess stock and it takes too long for them to get more.

It definitely strikes me as one of those 'too much fucking shit to do' games. When a developer advertises the ridiculous length as a feature nowadays I instantly tune out. But if that scratches an itch for you, awesome.

I'm definitely glad I skipped DA: Inquisition. Otherwise I might have been burned out on open-world games for a while.

What difficulty are you playing on? If not Death March, then it isn't as important for you to explore everywhere.

I definitely agree on the combat not being anywhere near Bloodborne's level, but it still feels fun to me.

Back then, it was a bit more like human cock fighting, lol. They didn't have weight classes at all and I am not sure they had the referees stop the matches when players got rocked either. You'll never see fights like Gracie vs Kimo now.

Yeah, that might be another issue. I haven't beat DA:I yet, but I've sunk a decent amount of time in it. Probably burnt me out on the big explory games. Exploration is really fun in DA:I, though, because there are lots of big areas that are very different from each other. The Witcher so far looks like a lot of woodsy areas (obviously there might be more variety, I'm still way early). Playing on the default difficulty, BTW.

Maybe that is why I lost interest. O:)

I will say the guys (and I guess the women) seem like they are a lot more skilled and well rounded now.

Sort of reminds me of many (but not all) Nascar fans. They are watching for the wrecks more then the racing. They want to see 15 cars doing 200 MPH smash into each other. I can't watch them on TV I fall asleep or get bored. Way too long.

I do like some small dirt track racing though and get annoyed when there are too many wrecks breaking up the action. But with few exceptions the races are much shorter.

Eh, I played Inquistion (got all the trophies except for Nightmare) and am having no problem staying invested in Witcher 3. I'm hoping to get it done before Arkham Knight drops later this month.

Then you don't really need to explore everywhere; the Places of Power are the most important to find because of the crucial ability points.

Yeah, I noticed; I was mainly referring to how *I* would have felt after playing Inquisition. I'm also trying to finish up before Arkham Knight.

so does witcher 3 kinda suck? I haven't seen you guys praise it much.
I've only been able to play it for maybe an hour or two at a time. It doesn't suck, but I haven't gotten pulled into it like a couple others here have. Combat is fun, if frustrating at times, but yeah there's so much to do. Last night I got my ass kicked at the card game for about 30 minutes before getting annoyed and shutting it off for the night. I'm probably going to knock down the difficulty level and start ignoring most of the trophies. I like the difficulty for the boss fights, not so much when its just random encounters with wolves along the road.
