don't worry everyone, I finally caught that big fish.
something has really been nagging me about let's fish and I couldn't figure it out until today - they added the dumbest bit of physics to reeling in that I know wouldn't bother normal people. basically, when you've hooked a larger fish (>10 lbs) they make reeling in a slacked line (i.e. the fish isn't pulling on it and you can see the extra line just floating there) 2-3x slower than normal.
the weight of the fishing line doesn't increase just because there's a heavier fish on the hook, guys. it's such a stupid thing to notice, but according to their in-game timer it took me 2.5 hours to reel in this 12 pound fish. I don't know anything about pro fishing, but I would hope even the top rated fisherman would either a.) say

that noise or b.) expect to pull a mermaid out of the water when they're done.
I'll once again reiterate what a moron I am for continuing to play this game just to finish the trophies.
Edit - just so it's clear, I didn't spend an _actual_ 2.5 hours on one fish, I think that equates to like 4 minutes of real time.
