Damnit people.  I just downloaded Mirrors Edge.  Don't make me delete and download Vanquish now.  Not even sure I finished the first level?  I remember doing tutorial shit.  And hiding behind something while some giant robot shot at me.  But that's it?  Am I bad dead gamer?

This might interest some people here (I posted it in the Japanese Niche Games thread):

Atlus is releasing The Legend of Legacy ( :3ds:) this fall: http://gematsu.com/2...erica-this-fall

Features
  • Seven Unique Perspectives – Each character in The Legend of Legacy has their own motivation for exploring Avalon, and their individual conclusion at the story’s resolution. Play through as each character to see them all!
  • Combat Gets Classless – Managing formations to instruct specific combat roles instead of fixed classes adds a different level of challenge for battle enthusiasts.
  • Legendary Development – Illustrator Tomomi Kobayashi (SaGa series), renowned composer Masashi Hamauzu (SaGa, Final Fantasy XIII), writer Masato Kato (Chrono Trigger), game designer Kyoji Koizumi (SaGa series), and Masataka Matsuura (999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors) all come together to create this brand new experience.
  • Balanced for the West – Based on user feedback following the Japanese release, several gameplay adjustments were made to enhance the gameplay. More details to come later!

Well I've hit max level in Splatoon. Took me longer than it should have due to life getting in the way, random crap + jury duty. Singleplayer is fairly quick to plow through. Like 5 hours or so, an hour per chapter, if you're speed running it like I was just to get the weapon unlocks. Character level takes some time as its heavily dependent on winning matches and if you get on poor playing teams you're shit out of luck. Games definitely a blast when teams are evenly matched, unfortunately evenly matched teams aren't as frequent.

They really better patch in a party system and loadout switching in/between matches otherwise theres really no staying power even with promised additional maps.

hey velo, someone got that baby boomer trophy from exploding zoo. apparently the devs stated that it's still technically possible because there's a miniscule variation in spawn rate every time the level starts. no patch yet that I can tell.
i tried for like 3+ hours when i still thought it was possible. i noticed there was a slight variation but closest i got was 39 and i said fuck this. i doubt he got it legit, but if he did he either got crazy lucky or tried for hours like i did and fuck that noise

Someone (Jeff?) mentioned that Kickstarters that explode can very easily harm games by increasing the scale to a level it wasn't meant to be. They need to be able to put caps on kickstarters, hell maybe they should be mandatory.

I completely agree with this for the majority of them with small indie devs. The pedigree behind Bloodstained has my faith. For their sake, I hope whoever told Iga that there was no place for this type of game anymore enjoys the taste of crow.

Supposedly there is a push to get a pro soccer team in Milwaukee. I think I'd rather get an NHL team, but are any of you soccer guys even into MLS. Or is it international soccer all the way in here.
I like MLS but only because Salt Lake City has a team so I have a team to cheer for. I wouldn't watch a non-Real Salt Lake MLS match. Overseas is way better but much harder to find on TV because of time zones and demand. European soccer would be the biggest thing that could ever drive me to getting cable, but like I said I miss so many of the games due sleeping (especially on Saturday) anyway.

don't worry everyone, I finally caught that big fish.

something has really been nagging me about let's fish and I couldn't figure it out until today - they added the dumbest bit of physics to reeling in that I know wouldn't bother normal people.  basically, when you've hooked a larger fish (>10 lbs) they make reeling in a slacked line (i.e. the fish isn't pulling on it and you can see the extra line just floating there) 2-3x slower than normal.  the weight of the fishing line doesn't increase just because there's a heavier fish on the hook, guys.  it's such a stupid thing to notice, but according to their in-game timer it took me 2.5 hours to reel in this 12 pound fish.  I don't know anything about pro fishing, but I would hope even the top rated fisherman would either a.) say fuck that noise or b.) expect to pull a mermaid out of the water when they're done.

I'll once again reiterate what a moron I am for continuing to play this game just to finish the trophies.

Edit - just so it's clear, I didn't spend an _actual_ 2.5 hours on one fish, I think that equates to like 4 minutes of real time.

I bought Lets Fish just to see how bad it was cause of you Mild.  But I have a feeling I will never even start it up.

Thanks for making me waste almost $2!

You're such a moron.

on an unrelated note, I found spider eggs behind my rear view mirror as I was leaving for work today, giving rise to a whole new class of fear and paranoia that I've never had in my life before.

I don't know what this is but it's coming to PS4 in August.

EDIT: This time with a link!

As long as you don't bother with the grind, it's a relaxing little game. The pain comes from completing tournament mode 4 times (once with each character) where there's no variation at all between the 4 playthroughs. Each playthrough requires probably 35-40 events, each taking anywhere from 2-20 minutes (and you have to get first in each one). There's a couple events where the fish you need only spawns once or twice in that 20 minutes and if you miss it you have to close the game and reload your save.

I wish I hadn't written that out. That is awful.

Shadow Warrior is definitely up there for my favorite PS4 games. If Best Buy does a $10 gc with it, I'll definitely pick it up day one.

But it's not going to be cross-buy.
Sweet, I'll still probably pick it up if it has separate lists.

fuck ALL that noise.

I thought playing any game just to finish the trophies was dumb? :whistle2:
Nah, I go after trophies for things I really like or enjoy. I used to 100% games on 360 that I absolutely adored, but there wasn't many I'd ago after. Bloodborne was my first ever Plat.

What I take issue with is playing games specifically for trophies even if you have no interest in the game or actually dislike the game. Just like mild just commented about the fishing game, its enjoyable and relaxing just to pick up and play but not enjoyable to do the grind. Play and enjoy, ignore the trophies. Or like the runner game you just went for last week. You regretted going after the trophies because it took longer than expected and you weren't enjoying the game. You should have just stopped and moved onto something you would have enjoyed.

Also avoiding a game because of say a trophy you can't obtain or would be very difficult to obtain despite it possibly being a great title.

Trophies themselves don't bother me and I can enjoy them, its how they affect people that irritates me.

I just deleted Lets Fish from my Vita.

Not really, I never downloaded it, but I deleted it in my mind.  Never again will I think of this game.

Until Mild mentions it another thousand times.

Just know nobody will ever see your Bloodborne Platinum.
