If you like Matilda there are a ton of good Belgian Pale Ales out there. I am not sure if there would be any that would be as good of a value as Matilda is though.

If you ever feel like splurging a bit, give Duvel a try. It will be a bit hoppier and CRAZY carbonated. If you get it from a bottle pour slowly and try to avoid pouring the yeast into your glass at the end. It won't hurt you (probably good for you actually) but people tend not to like floaties in their beer. A wine type glass or a snifter would work better for it than a standard pint glass.

There's many reasons why were not always having sex as much as we like, and that's life. I used to say the same thing. The difference between you and her in terms of beer is that she has come in from the American side where you started on the Belgian side like I did. I used to hate IPAs and only drank Belgians. Now, most Belgians are too sweet for me even though like you it took me a while to work up to where I appreciated Duvel.

She likes some of the more subtle American IPAs, so I would think Duvel might be more in her wheelhouse than yours.

Added them all to my "to try" list. Probably going to see if I can find at least a couple of them over the weekend. I'm due for a beer run. I've also got some empty bottle of a beer I really liked, but forget the name of on the counter at home that I need to get more of. I'll have to check which one it is when I get in. The correct answer to that question is always 10. The 8 is still very good, but the 10 is one of the best beers in the world, IMO.

Just dont drink it ice cold. If you have a wine fridge put it in there instead of a normal fridge. 55 degrees or so is perfect.

Gator already told you 10 which is right of course, but as a newb beer snob I will tell you that I prefer the St Bernardus and several other quads to the Rochefort 10. Purely due to price though as they are all excellent in my opinion. The Rochefort is like 2-3 times more expensive so not worth it after one try for me.

Unfortunately no. I know I've had other belgians but I tend to be bad at remembering the names to compare them. My extent of beer judging/comparing so far is mostly just "this is more/less hoppy/fruity than I expected"

Yea my bro in law LOVES ipas, the more bitter the better. He is in LOVE with snakehandler and their normal ipa. Hes been to the brewery a few times. Its not that far from here.
