Toukiden the first one was an excellent and I dare say better in some senses as it felt fast and controlled well. The sequel only expands on that and adds more weapons and demons. It's worth it even single player as they give you AI guys, although they aren't the smartest sometimes.

Well, Toukiden has demos for Kiwami and the original version, so check it out for yourself. Make sure to do the weapon tutorials because each weapon makes the game play very differently. It's kind of like having Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, and God of War combat all in one game.

The original version was $12 in a flash sale not too long ago. While Kiwami almost doubles the content, I wish I picked it up from the flash sale and waited for a Kiwami sale since your progress transfers over. I don't like Freedom Wars or Soul Sacrifice nearly as much; of all the Monster Hunter imitators, Toukiden stands head and shoulders above the others imo.

What do y'all think about Tales of Hearts R? It's hard to tell if that shit will go lower or if it's a good time to snap up a copy now.
It may or may not...should have gotten it with the B-day and Kong coupon to bring it to $20. As to getting higher in price I don't know right now as Bamco's online site actually sells it...if you hate GS that much (in which I probably won't blame you).

It's strictly for deviants like sovereignNX-73811.
Thank you.

I'm probably not the first to mention it, but there's a fun little game on the PS Mobile store called, Oh, Deer!. It looks and sounds like a old Sega arcade game(Outrun), it's an alpha and it's only $0.49.

Thanks for mentioning it. Now I'll have to see if I can be bothered to backup a PS Mobile game.

I think I'd like the game more if the point was to try not to hit the deer. The soundtrack is apparently done by the composer of Streets of Rage 3, so that's cool.

Is there any reason to get Muramasa on Vita if I have the Wii game?

I'm flipping some games over to Best Buy with a B2G1, and from my store's limited selection I'm torn (no pun intended) between Muramasa and Tearaway.

Plays better, less backtracking, better looking, better subtitles.

Story wise and controls its basically the same.

Well, I could go either way. I already have the base game for Muramasa, and I'm hearing that Tearaway is not all it's cracked up to be, plus it's really easy and short.

I could get Dangan Ronpa, but I'd be better off getting that with a birthday coupon.

Hm.. does anyone know if I can use a birthday coupon with a B2G1?

I should stress that I do indeed derive pleasure from whimsy.

But the shortness bothers me though. At this point I'm leaning toward trying the Birthday coupon with Dangan Ronpa. If that doesn't work out I'll probably get Tearaway.

I don't know if you played Muramasa on Wii but the translation is a barely intelligible mess. It is almost impossible to figure out what is going on. I speak from experience. That said, I quickly stopped caring trying to figure it out because the combat was so brain dead simple and tedious apart from the boss fights which were actually pretty fun.

Still, I hated the game overall and never ended up regetting it on Vita because nobody has convinced me it fixed anything but the game's peripheral issues. First I've heard the Vitamake cuts down on the backtracking, which is sorely needed if it is true.

Vita has four(?) DLC stories which let you play as different characters in shorter adventures or something yadda yadda.

Danganronpa is a decent length but it is a one-and-done sort of thing, but you should know that's part and parcel of the genre. I recommend the first one heartily if you have a stomach for anime nonsense and the second one slightly less heartily but if you liked the first buying that one is a fait accompli and I would never think to dissuade.

I wound up getting Daganronpa.

I played the game on PSP before; I just really like it, which is why it got the edge over the other two games. I'm not really crazy about Muramasa or Tearaway.

In any case, paid $40 for three games, and I'm gonna flip the other two for $38. Can't complain.

Picked up Lego Lord of the Rings for $8.99 used at GameStop. Reviews are pretty mixed but at least it was complete. Also used a bday coupon on Deception IV, also complete

Deception 4 is getting an enhanced edition that is digital only on PS3 and Vita but physical on PS4. Given Koei's track record it will probably come to PC too. Apparently Deception 4 had some irritating usability issues in our release that were fixed in the Japanese release for some reason, so I was holding off until it went cheap, but then I heard of the SE.

Toukiden Kiwami is an immense improvement over the original Toukiden. The AI is given such a huge buff in ability that they could probably solo several monsters while you set the controller down and the economy has been given so many grindskips, tweaks, and enhancements that it is tough to count them all. And I thought vanilla Toukiden alone was more fun than MH4U. Couldn't say straight faced that it is flat better but I preferred it immensely and think it was designed a lot smarter than MH in many facets.

Freedom Wars went cheap because it started cheap. It was always from day one a bastardized release at lower MSRP that must have hit a wall late in the development cycle and got shoved out unloved. PvP had to be patched in to the Jap version. It has a lot of utterly stupid design decisions and the post-game is absolutely nothing but grinding more gun bits through probably the worst most grindiest and fiddly and random chanceiest upgrade system I have ever seen. The actual act of grappling and shooting and hitting robots is good fun but it ends up feeling like RE6 at times with all these flashy movement mechanics that just add nothing to the game, worse still when the game levels up and the whole stat-based damage works against the flashy mechanics because all the cool stuff is just suboptimal damage-wise and offers no situational advantage. And all this is not even counting the atrocious plot that can't even decide what it wants to be and drawing out each mission through a decade of tedious dialog.

I mean it was worth the flash sale price but it was such a monumental disappointment that I'm not surprised about the price. I'm almost certain there is a great story of misery and stupid decisions behind this game's development but we're likely to never hear the details.

I enjoyed freedom wars enough to platinum it. After adjusting my controls i had fun just picking up the game and playing random matches online. The story can be beaten offline if youd like. AI is decent enough. I also never had to grind to continue forward in the story, the enemy weapon drops were enough to get by on with a bit of custimizing at the very end. Multiple character customization save slots. Different weapon styles to fight with. Also a futuristic robotic theme was refreshing from the forest medieval fantasy themes.

What i didn't like was when i lose a story missions i couldn't just retry instantly. A few boring fetch quests. Also trying to upgrade your weapon to the highest lvl post-game becomes a luck drop grind if you decide to do it.

Vita's getting it to, just not in the states.

Oh, certainly. To the game's credit you barely even have to look at the upgrade crap to beat the story. But it's such an atrocious story I don't see why that's a great reward. The only cool enemy (That katana wielding fruitcake.) you only fight once and the other three enemies are repeated over and over. That final boss is just stupid.

A worthy play at the sale price though just because nobody else did grappling hook shooting except for Lost Planet 2and it was just as flawed and stupid there but in completely different ways.

Man though the FW visuals were striking. It's basically the dystopia as imagined by fashion models. Even rags look darling on these people. And yet only ONE character is caught having carnal relations with another sinner? With an entire prison full of top quality dudes and ladies dressed to the nines at all times? Oh please. Still, I would have loved to see that whole setting and imagery get a story that lived up to it.

Oh sorry, no country THAT MATTERS is getting it physical.

Tearaway is awesome. Don't let soulless monsters convince you otherwise. It's not perfect, but it's a fantastic experience.

Picked up Freedom Wars physical copy from Best Buy today. Came out to $11.99 after GCU and then I had a $5.50 credit making it like $7 after tax. Pretty good deal. My Best Buy had a ton of them. They had like 6 copies of Freedom Wars and a whole bunch of the 2015 baseball game. Other than that they were pretty cleared out of vita stock. My physical vita collection is building nicely though.

Tearaway is awesome unless you're heartless and don't like whimsy.
So in other words 80% of gamers today.

I did enjoy Tearaway, but by the time I was finished I was ready to move on to something else. It really helps if you're artistic, because the game will give you loads of ways to customize your character. You can even cut construction paper into shapes and stick it on your hero! It's pretty great.

So Disgaea 4 is hard to come by? There are several new copies at a nearby game store.

FYI Best Buy has Criminal Girls on clearance for 31.99 or 25.59 with GCU. Not my first choice for a Vita title but one I can see disappearing quickly.

Its been my experience that it is hard to locate a physical copy in stores.

Just looked up Criminal Girls. I doubt anyone will buy it, the NA version is bastardized, censored to death.

Censored or not its one of those limited release games here in the states. A lot of the stores by me just had enough copies for pre-orders only.

Get it, get two if you can the value of that game is slowly going up.

It was out of stock on Amazon and going for slightly above MSRP, but recently it was restocked at a $30 price point. The other handheld ones are somewhat expensive and have retained their value well excluding the Vita port of Disgaea 3 which is still in print.

Thanks for the heads up! Picked up a $30 new copy from Amazon. No stores around me have it in stock.

Are you talking about Disgaea 4 when you say it was restocked at $30? When was this? :/

I didn't see it either when I did an initial Amazon search for it. I only got a page with 3rd party offers. I had to do a Google search for the game to find the Amazon page.
