ok got the first 6 missions done with dmc. awesome. some of these controls are tough tho, like angel dodges are hold l2 and tap l1 which means i gotta play with two fingers on the triggers if i wanna do that move which im not used to doing... good stuff tho and ill continue the twitch tomorrow. peace guys n thanks for watching

I woke up way too early today.  Now I wish my best buy had a midnight opening last night, but instead I need to wait another 2 and a half hours to get my batman.

 
I didn't realize that the lvl32 and higher Prison of Elders count toward the Raid trophies.  Popped the Raider and Raiding Party trophies last night.  I'm assuming the lvl35 PoE must be required for the Epic Raider trophy.  Just need that, the Flawless Raider and need to hunt some ghosts and the plat will be mine.

That's kinda crazy actually. I know there was lots of hate for it, but as one of the few who platted it, I considered it a gameplay design. It made it difficult to see the traps on the ground, which is one of the ways the game trolls you. Do they just stretch out the screen or can you actually see 20% more now? I still havnt played it on ps4 yet so i guess ill play 'fullscreen'

The article doesn't actually say it, but be aware that removing the letterboxing is done by cropping out the edges and then full-screening the remainder. Using this option actually decreases the amount of viewable content for the game, so you're going to end up with a super restrictive FOV that's mostly taken up by the character.

For PC somebody released a mod that allows it to have proper widescreen with no letterboxing, but there was never an official patch that did the same. As far as I can tell the PS4 update maintains this same behavior.

Woke up early today and played through most of Game of Thrones episode 1. Not sure if I will finish it tonight before starting Batman or not though.

 
I was awake late last night friending (Stotch Stalking) a bunch of people on facebook.  I figure I need to get into social media to "connect" with people since I will be single.  Anyway, by 2am I realized I could have checked on a midnight release at my BB for Batman.  Too late though and they probably wouldnt have done it at my store anyway.

Good thing my BB is 5 minutes from the house and on the way home so I can play it all night tonight.

That's also why I didn't mind it--if anything, the letterboxing enhanced the whole experience for me.

I'm the opposite as you--platted on PS4 and haven't played it on PS3--but I still might try out the "fullscreen", too.

I'm not saying you're lying, but if the article doesn't say it, how do you know this letterbox-removal works the same way without downloading it yourself? Is there a video showing a console version without the letterbox?

I threemanned Crota and got Flawless Raider. Whoever does PoE 35 without dying has my utmost respect. I really hope Bungie gets their head out of their ass and do something about the inane pricing of TTK.

girls are so sex obsessed. it is horrible. at least guys have videogames and yardwork and sports (not me) and other stuff to keep them busy. This girl told my yesterday she saw her ex and he tried to grope her and that she wasn't for him anymore and he couldn't get it. Then she just posted on fb just now that she fucked him last night but it was strictly dickly and no emotions. all these girls are telling her to get it and just use him for his dick. if guys talked or behaved like that. idk. these belleville il girls are way too easy...i dont know any guy dudes really or else they would probly prove me wrong, lol.

that's what i thought, cuz if it actually added more screen it would make the game easier to see the traps on the ground etc. i dont know if it would be more restrictive than normal, just stretched out. idk ill prob just play it with the letterboxing cuz im used to it anyway. wouldn't it kinda distort the image too if they just stretched it, idk

I don't--which is why the phrasing of my post was done the way it was. "As far as I can tell," and referencing the PC version's approach was to make that clear. Honestly the article was pretty half-assed because it didn't address this one way or the other and anybody with an awareness of how the PC version handled the toggle would be asking this question.

Also Evil Within launched with known framerate issues. One of the ideas thrown about for the letterboxing is that it was a technical workaround to improve performance; by not showing anything at the top or bottom, the number of pixels the game has to push is drastically cut. If the letterboxing was removed the framerate would take a huge dive due to the increase in how much has to be rendered. Maybe they managed to handle the framerate issue as well (from what I've read they did release a patch that helped but didn't completely resolve the issue, and that's with the black bars in place) in which case the letterboxing could be removed without making the game's performance a lot worse.

Related via framerate issues; I'm reading there's widespread performance issues with Arkham Knight on PC. Anybody having issues on the PS4 version with this?

No, it doesn't distort the image. They remove the black bars on top and bottom, which would the image very wide but stretched vertically; but they then cut off the left and right edges of the image to get the aspect ratio back to where it started. That's why toggling the black bars (and the cropping of the sides) drastically reduces the field of view.

Fast-forward this video to 1:05 and watch what happens when he makes the change. You can see how it zooms in on the back of the character when he switches to full-screen and the sides are cut off as a consequence. The tree on the left completely disappears and so does the big rock on the right side.

I own a Wii U and I still agree with this (except the Nintendo hater part). A new Burnout would be enjoyed by so many people. I just don't think you can say the same for a new F-Zero on Wii U.

 
Why do sites do these "first 15 minutes of (X) game" videos?  Who the fuck watches these?  Why the fuck would you want to watch these?  If you dont want to play the game, you shouldnt care to waste 15 minutes of your life.  If you want to play it you wouldnt want to spoil the opening would you?

Yeah I dont really hate Nintendo. I just know that a Wii U game would have sold horribly compared to any Burnout (or even MW) on the main consoles. And of course I dont and will never own a Wii U.

iv never lived there. i just know a facebook group called belleville sluts and one of them sent me an invite last year. They know i do the cam thing so they don't consider me a threat. its just a bunch of strippers and hot dropouts looking for money and talking shit on other girls. im the only dude in the group and it is embarrassing. lol

Less than a hour until I can play batman.

Metro 2033 aint bad, the trophies are kinda dumb, fairly grindy with all the kill x with x crap.

Story is pretty good though.
