I'm kinda debating the Batman plat myself. I got to the last story mission last night and keeping upgrades for NG+ makes it sound pretty doable...but at the same time I'm not great at the AR or some of the Riddler trophies.

Also I echo everyone's sentiments on the Arkham Knight reveal. I can't get spoiler tags to work on mobile so I'll just say I was not shocked.

Also, Lynne Austin.  Man she was hot.  She was still hot as of a few years ago.  She had a radio show here basically because of Hooters. Man she milked her Hooters career something good!

If you make less than 50 and work more than 40 your doing it wrong. BOOM!
Yeah when I was at that range it was hourly. They wanted to make it salaried and my manager said then you have to bump him up since he would lose 3-4K in OT each year. They decided (plus Helpdesk is an hourly position anyway) not change me.

But good for those it helps I guess not sure how many people are salaried and making less then 50K.

I'm going in for the stupid batman plat which probably makes me an idiot but I don't care, I'm really enjoying the game now and I'll regret it if I skip ng+ since there's no way I'll be able to dive in to that months down the road and succeed. The biggest downside is it'll probably take me at least 2 more weeks to get through the rest of the side missions, riddler trophies, AR missions and ng+ so I might end up having to take a hit at bby if the tiv dips.
At least someone else here is going for the plat. :grouphug:

But why would you keep drinking it if it is not something you like the taste of?
I really like the taste of NOS. I didnt have to acquire a taste for it either. I liked it right away. But I had already tried a lot of others before that. And they all have a bad after taste for the most part other than NOS. To me at least. So I only go back to NOS.

Did you like the taste of beer the first time you had it? Coffee? Most people have to acquire tastes for those and they are two of the most consumed beverages in the world.

Consumed would work. I think I actually liked my first beer. It wasn't bud or some nasty crap like that. Some import. Friend of mine had higher priced tastes even in HS. I think my first drink was actually liquor. Those little airline bottles.

my wife and I were just talking about this last night - is beer actually an acquired taste or is there a beer that you can have as your first that's so good that no taste acquiring is needed? most people drink swill at first and after you adjust to that it's impossible to know if anything else would've tasted different if it had been your first.

You said they all tasted bad and were an acquired taste, yet you do not want to acquire a taste for IPAs. Of course it is fine if you don't want to, I was just pointing out how you appeared to be fine with doing that for energy drinks but not beer.

Maybe? I still cant drink IPAs and yet Gator will tell you they are the best. I have a hard time believing a 13 year old kid would ever be able to drink one of those. But a nice Belgian thats sweet? They would probably enjoy it. I would have. So there are a lot of variables like anything. But I still say most people cant just start drinking beer and actually like it. Unless your first beer is in your 20s. But lets be real here. We drink beer cause of the alcohol. I would not drink anything if it didnt make me care less about my problems.

It doesn't have to be an acquired taste if you happen to try the right beer for your tastes the first time. For a typical American palate, that is pretty unlikely to happen. Even the most ubiquitous swill will still have a slightly bitter taste that will not agree with most.

I drink a cup of coffee in the morning, usually some Iced Tea or Iced Tea/Lemonade at lunch, some water until work ends, a Monster Ultra Sunrise when I get home from work.  Then, a couple of cans or bottles of Mineral or Sparkling water after that until bed.

This is why I'm completely glad I avoided everything about the game before playing it. Normally I don't give a shit about spoilers (save e3 spoilers apparently?) and I'm not even a big batman fan or anything. I just thought that was extremely well done and set the tone for the whole game for me. Now I hope nobody spoils the plot for blazblue chronophantasma extend before I pick it up today!
BlazBlue dies at the end.

Yeah, thats why I drink one of these each morning.

In the morning? I mean I used to drink it all the time during finals time but in the morning I would get all jittery. I resorted to some black tea or those mountain dew kickstarters (the pineapple one).

has anyone actually played through this lord of the rings: war in the north game? is it any good?

I know people gave it a lot of flak for the glitches and everything but I was a HUGE fan of SnowBlind Studios. They made Baulders Gate 1 & 2, and Champions of Norrath on the PS2. Too bad out of all the games, WitN was definitely the worst. It is like they took a step back. Loot wasn't that great, no randomized dungeon, and the who fighting mechanic didn't see so solid. I still enjoyed it as a SnowBlind and LotR fan.

I was just speaking in general. Most energy drinks do taste like ass. Like IPAs!

First beer I drank was a Keystone and never touched beer for 2 years. Then I drank Keystone again but this time a really hot sorority girl passed me one and I was hooked. Eventually I moved towards craft pale ales but I was never a fan but that's all my roommate had stocked in the fridge. That and Lonestar.

Craft pale ales? That surprises me since I thought you were rather averse to bitter flavors based on what you have told me.

Yeah. I have a high tolerance for caffeine. Always have. Which is another reason I dont drink coffee. Even when I do have coffee for some reason it doesnt seem to give me the same boost as NOS. Its basically like drinking Mt Dew as far as boost goes. I drink Mt Dew instead of NOS every few weeks.

Those kickstarters arent bad and they do give a nice boost too which is strange since they dont have a ton of caffeine and taurine. But they have an afterstaste too, so back to NOS. Black tea is gross.

This is the same way it worked for me. Attractive women wanting to drink is the most convincing argument to get past the initial bad taste.

I guess not "craft" but definitely pale ales. Like Sierre Nevada. I never said I enjoyed it but it was between that and Lone Star, and I really hate Lone Star.

Mind you that this was back when I didn't really know the categories of beer. I thought beer was beer.

Ditto here. First had a lukewarm Miller Light. Didn't touch another beer for 2-3 years afterwards. Stuck with miller for a while when I started drinking beer cause it was cheap and always around. Only switched to craft 'cause all my damn indie/hipster friends were annoying assholes about my shitty beer. They were right tho.

Sierra Nevada is large, but they are definitely craft. It is pretty damn hoppy as well. You not liking it fits in better with where I thought you were.

All this talk about bitter tastes made me finally do a search to see if I could go somewhere and take a supertaster test.  Even better than that, I found out there are kits you can order for just a few dollars.

http://supertaster.com/

I might order the $20 set and take it to the next large beer tasting to get the results for everyone.

I never really got into energy drinks. Tried rockstar a couple times, and didn't mind the taste, but after having 2 in a row one day for finals in college I had to completely cut that shit out. I was shaky and completely wired for like a day and a half. I did have a blueberry red bull a couple years ago that was pretty good tho. I do usually have a coffee in the mornings during the week, but its more for taste than caffeine purposes. The caffeine amounts in typical coffee and soft drinks don't really have an effect on me, but energy drinks wreak havoc on my system.

This reminds me of a time during my freshmen year. It was finals times and I stayed up all night learning a topic over Mexican-American history for a paper I had to write in class. (No I didn't take it because I was interested in the topic, I was there for the hot latina chicks). I took an adderall and probably 5 cans of NOS over the night. After like 9 hours of on and off procrastination I walked into campus to take my exam. On the sidewalk a bunch of these dudes were marketing a new type of energy shot and handing out some freebies. Mind you that I was already quite jittery to begin with. So they flagged me down and ask me to try their concoction. I think it was a blueberry pomegranete shot with a shit ton of caffeine. Took the shot and mentioned that I really didn't feel anything and walked to my classroom.

It was probably like 10 minutes during the exam I really felt it something. Like I was shaking horribly to the point where I couldn't spell my name. I talked to the professor and somehow convinced to let me take it at another time and got the fuck out of there. I think I freaked out the girl who sat next to me as she never responded whenever I texted her to meetup for lunches. 2/10 would not take that class again.

Um, I love me some NOS but 5?!  Your lucky you didnt die from that let alone the shot you took on top of it. And the adderall.  She definitely thought you were a coke head.

You acquire taste for foods/drinks because that gives you more options. Otherwise you'd spend your life eating kraft mac and cheese over and over.

Crap. You're right, it is a coupon code, which means it can't be combined with the 20% off bday coupon that expires today.

Found a store with Daganonpa, Senran Kagura, and Neptunia Re; Birth2 in stock. Went ahead and had them held. Should be $63 total for the three.

I've never been in to energy drinks at all. I'll mix them with vodka or Jaeger once in a while but that's about it. And I get a really weird hangover if I drink those too much so I rarely consume energy drinks. Just soda for me.

There's no way anyone actually liked the first beer they tasted.

Apparently the coupon is just for today and the promo will become automatic starting tomorrow for PUR members (Pro and Free) and 7/2 for everyone else.

Woke at six, on my second coffee before going to the gym and I just know I'm going to be up until 2 am, because why not.

This is me by a slim margin, so could work out in my favor. I don't work more than 40 per week though, but if I qualified for overtime I'd probably find ways to earn a few hours of OT every pay period.

More than likely if something like that actually passed, my employer would probably bump me up to the new ineligible threshold, which would also work out in my favor.

I have a hipsterish friend in NYC who's a lawyer that I've seen talking about PBR on Facebook. But in his house he had a keg of Yuengling when I visited last year. Maybe that's the new hipster beer? Anyway, he's got pinball in his house too, so he's alright!
