Shovel Knight is so great that I want to buy it on multiple consoles (should come as no surprise that I have Mega Man 9 and 10 on multiple machines). It's a shame it's only for Xbox One and not 360.

Never Alone is mandatory for something to say on "Date Night". Otherwise I don't know about the game.

I have Thomas Was Alone on my PS3. But from what I remember it's a simply looking platformer that's actually a lot of fun.

Can't help with the rest although Ori looks great.

That's stupid designing. In that situation, it should wait until either you shut the console off or the next time you start it.

This is the first time in quite awhile that I've bought anything from a sale, and I'm quite happy with 4 games for $15ish.

Has anyone played Skate 3? I own the first one and hated the control and camera system compared to the more arcadey-style of THPS, which I loved. I see they added a Tony Hawk style camera to Skate 3, but the gameplay looks like the first game, where doing a kickflip is a huge accomplishment for me.

If you're asking if Skate 3 plays like Tony Hawk now, no. The real only difference from Skate 3 and the last iterations is you can drag certain objects to do tricks off of them. Otherwise still the same right stick heavy trick based gameplay.

And I literally keep forgetting Tony Hawk was even around on the 360/PS3 generation of consoles.

Bleh, why bother? The last gen console version gets rid of the Nemesis system, the best defining feature of that game. You're better off waiting for the XBox One version GotY version to get cheap instead of getting an inferior product.

 
Hoping Diablo hits the $10 sweet spot with this upcoming sale, but doubtful. Not really expecting anything I don't already own to hit the ten or below mark. The few things I do want, or possibly want, will probably be $15 on up.

Right in the Announcement text it tells you when an update drops and when it will forcibly install if you don't do it manually when you have the "download in the background" turned off.

I have my 'background downloads' (or whatever the setting is actually called on the x1) set to off, and I don't do the instant-on thing. Only once was I forced out of a game for an update to take, and that was *on* the night of the "install by date". From there on out, I take the five minutes every time I turn on my X1 to head over to Settings and see if an update is available. Eff all that noise.

I just got MK X three weeks ago; dont people get to try out a character free for the first weekend or something like that?
 
I just played the No Time To Explain Demo and I really liked it. Also, the demo gave me an achievement for just starting up the game. It's pretty weird that a demo gives achievements.

For the first two DLC characters (Jason & Tanya) - the new character is released for season pass holders and, also, whomever wanted to buy the character separately. The following week - the premiere tower featured the DLC character (premiere towers change on Tuesday). So those who didn't buy the DLC and/or SP could try out the character (it has been a six-fight tower, two matches per character variation) in only that one tower only for that week (the week after the character is released). To my knowledge - and I've played every week - no premiere tower has repeated, so past that one-week window, Jason & Tanya have not been available to non-DLC owners. No telling if premiere towers will eventually repeat.

Hopefully that made sense.

Also, for those that have MKX, the tower this week is for July 4th and is actually rather creative, imo, with the fireworks.

Decided to fire up Arkham Orgins tonight on the 360 and it freezes. Restart if a few times then got a damaged DLC message. Backed up saves to usb drive, cleared game off harddrive and still have both issues. *sigh*

The Nemesis Lite isn't that bad really, most noticeably just doesn't do things in real time but rather whenever you travel/load.

However, the gfx are muddy, orc lips don't move when they talk, the on the fly cutscenes when orcs challenge each other play like choppy garbage, and most importantly the combat is herky jerky which while still playable breaks immersion and makes it all too "gamey."

I deeply regret ignoring reviews and buying it day 1 for previous gen. I hoped people were just being snobs and it would be ok until I could get a new system, but it is really bad. Just play batman.

Did you buy the season pass? Or have Deathstroke's DLC installed previously? Try redownloading those things, as you save may have data for them that it's looking for.

This same thing happened to me with Arkham City and my PS3 save file after I hadn't played it for months. I was unable to recover it, but hopefully your issue is just it looking for DLC data.

 
hey guys little help with purchasing 360 GWG. I added a Visa gift card so I didnt have to add my CC. When I go to purchase it says no valid payment option. I click change payment option, the card I entered is listed with a dot next to it but I cant continue. the continue box is greyed out. Why is this so difficult to do with 360 games when on a computer.

EDIT: nevermind I finally got it to got through! just went through edit a few times didnt change anything but it did the trick.

So if I bought this would I just be able to plug it into the 360 and it work? I remember seeing some talk about needing a y-cable or something and was kinda hoping that this one wouldnt require it.

My Book is a 3.5" external hard drive, so it needs an AC adapter and isn't USB-powered.

The Passport / Passport Ultra / Passport X drives are 2.5" drives, so they are USB powered. I have a 2TB Passport Ultra connected to my Xbox 360 with its original cable and I have no issues with it. The Wii U did have issues with USB-powered drives and needs a dual-USB cable for power and interface.

I have the 2TB My Book connected to my Wii U and the 4TB version connected to my Xbox One and both drives have been working flawlessly since day one.

No this drive should be plug and play. No need for a y-cable. I bought one from BB in May for $89. It was super easy to setup. Now I put all of my games on it instead of my Internal HD which is almost full. For $69 that external HD is a steal!

Now for this ultimate sale, does anyone think we will get greater than 50% (60% w/ gold) for 360? Hoping for some cheap arcades as well as older retails to go on sale. Major's tweet makes it sound like 50 or 60% will be the top.. Hope not.

Thanks shrike! I'm actually gonna pull the trigger on this. I have $100 in RZ certs that expire in August so might as well pick this up and take those games off the 360 'My Pins' list.

 
Off topic, but not-so-much since Black Frag is free right now.

I played through all of the AC games in order leading up to Black Flag for the first time, including Liberation and ALL DLC for the previous games, just because people treated Black Flag like the second coming of Christ. 

I'm now a couple hours into Black Flag and I just can't stand it. I no longer care about the main outer storyline now that AC3 ruined it with the ending. The sailing is boring. Everything that's not sailing is the exact same crap as the older games, but without the interesting storyline to go with it. The Animus character you play as is a dick. And he's related to an AC3 character, blah blah blah, doesn't matter because that character was a dick too.

I still have Rogue and Unity that I bought because I was so invested in these games during my Ezio trilogy playthrough, and I just can't get over this Black Flag hurdle. Does the storyline get ANY more interesting after this?

AC 4 is the only one I've played and I just looked at it like a pirate game. I had no idea what was going on with the storyline, at all. But I liked plundering ships, raping women, and slaughtering innocents.
 
I guess that's what I didn't take into consideration before starting the game. People appreciated it as a pirate game instead of an AC game. I don't like pirate games. I like AC games. Yet I don't care enough about the game to even complete all the typical AC chores, which I used to love, that they DID include in the game.

Hmm, this is good insight. I'm still on Revelations and kind of tiring of the series mechanics as it is, but pushing through for the story. What is your opinion of 3 outside of the Animus ending snafu? Is it true what they say about Conner? Figure I'll be skipping that one if I'm already a bit fatigued at Revelations. I was going to play BF because it was free but maybe now I'll skip that too. Unity was a mess technically, don't know story-wise. Rogue I've heard is one of the best ones story-wise but not sure how much I'd miss by skipping 3 and 4 so may pass on that too. Guess I'll pick back up at Syndicate if they don't ruin it. I really like the proposed setting.

I wouldn't recommend skipping AC3 without at least trying it, but I DO recommend taking a break from the series before starting it, especially if you're getting tired of the mechanics. Imagine the first three games, where the game has several cities connected by an overworld. Now, imagine that trying to traverse that overworld is like trying to navigate a smaller Skyrim on foot with constant obstacles in your way. There's a huge wilderness aspect that's daunting if you're used to the AC formula, and never really gets easier to explore. They give you horses, which are useless because after every 10 feet they hit an obstacle (usually a tree root or a branch or something stupid) so you have to get off the horse anyway. You'll find yourself fast traveling through most of the game just to save headaches.

You don't get the robes until halfway through the game, so there's a lot of training. The storyline isn't anything totally exciting, though it is interesting to see historical figures in a different light. Towards the end of the game, I actually started to like Conner a bit. I don't regret playing the game but that was the first AC game where I really couldn't be bothered to play the side quests. The ending also pissed me off, but had me curious to see what they did with the remains of it with Black Flag. As soon as I started Black Flag and saw how they were choosing to continue the story, I was so pissed that I shut the game off for a month before I was even a half hour into it. It's like everything that I did in the last five games didn't matter. The developers were so afraid of being accused of stretching the storyline out longer than it needed to be, that they trashed all of it in the last five minutes of AC3 and chose to start over. And according to a recent interview with Nolan North, that was not their intention they had when they hired him on in the beginning of the series.

I do recommend Liberation if it's ever on sale for under $10. It plays more like an AC game, and the new gameplay gimmicks they added are actually kind of interesting. It's also pretty short, so it's over just as you're starting to grow tired of it. Also easy to 100% achievement-wise. It's in no way related to the main storyline, however. The entire game takes place in the Animus with no mention of modern day.

reading their replies, people are still having problems  :wall: I have to wait until it's finished downloading but this is bs if it still screwed up
