So I went with the suggested hotel from some of the dark side guys at work (sales, marketing, etc..)

$200 a night and no internet included??!?!? WTMF?  I should have paid whatever it was, but I couldn't do it.  Thank god for phone tethering.

That bar was pretty good.  Did the tourist thing and ordered their Philly which was pretty tasty.  Of course 2 of the beers I wanted were kicked but there were some other good options.

I was oddly disappointed when nobody looked at me funny for playing the Vita on the plane.  The two people on each side of me were actually watching me play LBP.  I was shocked!

Sometimes you just gotta cut that shit. Impromptu haircut!

Just kidding. Cut the band.

Did I not do the rubberbanding right for the distance trophy in Rocket League? I had my PS4 running for 10-11 hours straight and the trophy didn't pop.

I wasn't paying attention to my ps+ sub and it's going to expire in a few days... I didn't get in on the glitch like most of you.

Anyone seen any deals out there? I saw someone is selling them for $40 here so it's looking like I'm gonna go that route.

Saw it on clearance at Target so it was a weekend thing for me and the boy to play while the humidity took over the outside. Knocked out the campaign in the weekend. It's a shitty co-op game and shitty visuals and a mostly shitty regular game. But the boy liked it because he loves the show.

The plat is pretty easy so I'm gonna mop up the rest of the trophies the next couple nights.
How much? That's a game that we were going to pick up if I could find it cheap but I've never seen it below $20.

Nothing. Maybe something Wednesday with the Prime/Walmart sale frenzy but who knows.

Looks like Shadow of Mordor and Dragon Age Inquisition are Best Buy's DOTD.  DAI looks like it's 20/16 for all consoles, including the PS3 and 360 Deluxe Editions.  SOM is 15/12 for PS4 and Xbone.

DA:I's PS3/360 versions have $18 base TIVs at Gamestop... :whistle2:

Just beat Bioshock. Good ending because I'm not a complete asshole. I was surprised at the ending, though; I thought it was going to lead right into Bioshock 2 simply because of the events near the end of the game. With that in mind the ending didn't seem to fit. Seeing Fontaine go down was nice, though. Glad they took that route with his demise.

Might go on to Bioshock 2 in #OhShitOctober. Probably enough time between now and then to be ready for another one.

At 6 games for #JJ now. Star Wars: Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition next, I think.

I'm in for Fantasy Football this year. I seriously wouldn't like to deal with a situation like Matt Forte rotting on a team which was starting bye/injured players though.

Two trips from NY to FL with a connection in Atlanta. Took my 2ds no one even looked over near as I can tell. Battery was dead 5 mins in to one flight but otherwise I used it for 7 flights pretty the whole time.

You need 75+ km on one set of wheels. Mine popped somewhere between 75 and 78 and change.

How does trading a game at Game Stop work with just a code no coupon? Do I just tell them I have a code? I always had a scannable coupon in the past.

I assume the deluxe edition is the same as far as GS is concerned for trade in? I might run to BB at lunch time.

Also has anyone bought Amazon credit via Gamestop's website and if so how fast do they email you the codes? Not sure I will buy anything tomorrow on Amazon and don't want to move credit unless I know there is something I want.

DA:I is intriguing, do you need to have played the first 2?

I played a little of the first one, never played the second. Not sure I'd get into it.

You'd get more enjoyment out of it if you played the first two, but it's not required. There's a pretty robust "save-building" mechanic that BioWare implemented, called "Dragon Age Keep", to let you make the important choices from DA:O and DA2.

Cool.

16 bucks is pretty cheap, think i'll bite.

Now watch it go to plus in the next couple of months before I even open it.

I played a little of DA:O and watched my nephew and niece play my copy. I couldn't get into it at all. I know lots of people love these types of games but I wasn't feeling it. I actually WANTED to like it. It was a Christmas present I asked for.

I felt pretty much the same way about DA:I. I tried to enjoy it, but just...couldn't, even after 10 or so hours. Witcher 3, while not exactly the same kind of game, scratched my medievalish-action-RPG itch instead.

Yeah I don't think I am big on most RPGs and even less interested in medieval games in general. So I kind of skip over these as I know they will not engage me for whatever reason.

I know I've harped on this before, but skullgirls is really an amazing game.  2nd encore is a really good 'total package' for the game - besides adding all of the (6?) dlc characters that had been available for free from the kickstarter, it adds voice acting in to its story mode (which is very good for a fighting game - doesn't take itself too seriously, has an actual story, introduces all sorts of characters in to the 'fiction' and is different and short for every character) and some cool challenge stuff.

The character quality is ridiculously good in this game as far as creativity and design - jumping back and forth between sg and blazblue it becomes even more apparent.  blazblue has a pretty long history and storylines people actually follow and most of the characters have some fairly unique mechanics, but nothing in that game comes close to the personality in skullgirls.  the dlc characters fit right in to the original cast but show that the team has plenty of gas left to keep making cool stuff.

on top of it, the game is actually fun and tries to teach you about fighting games.  the tutorial is pretty clever in how it teaches concepts (mix ups, hit confirms, etc) and makes you actually use them but not in a frustrating or slow/annoying way.  as far as actually playing the game you can button mash and do some qcf+p action and be pretty entertained.  I'm not very good of course but I can just putz around with peacock and big band for hours and not get bored (that's actually what I did last night).  If you're willing to put in a reasonable amount of time (compared to most fighting games) you can pull off some pretty cool stunts.  And there's plenty of room for higher tier play (I think it's playing at evo again this year on the side).

plus it looks real purty.  it's a shame that they didn't have time/budget to go back and redo the first set of backgrounds as the new ones seem to be quite a bit more vibrant and well drawn.  but yeah, it looks great.

all of this from a small indie team who were really passionate about what they were making.  outstanding game.  if they could make a game like this sing I can't wait to see what they put together in that next project they're working on.
