Browsing on prime day I noticed Amazon has the game $10 cheaper Preorder then Walmart and Best Buy. If you haven't played this series, I'd highly recommend it (plus it's a wink, wink to gunfire games letting the publisher know there is still interest in this series).

EDIT: Thanks to kickrockz713 for pointing our that Best buy has now updated their price to $29.99 also, GCU get it for $23.99. Free shipping on Best Buy at the time is a purchase over $35, 3.99 shipping otherwise.

If It's a MSRP change down to $29.99, then I think I'll wait out reviews before picking it up.  $23.99 with GCU is a good price on a remastered edition game, so we'll see if the new price isn't the only thing that is worth picking this game up.

 
Wii U version is actually the definitive version of this game. Looks great on wii U and the gamepad integration is actually really slick and useful! I recommend it to anyone who does actually own a wii u. Great game regardless of where you play it though.

Xbox is the first generation dude, they havent made any games for Xbox in a looooooong time. XBox 360 followed it, and now it is Xbox One Keep up, wil'ya.

The Wii U framerate disagrees with you. 18-20fps at times doesn't sound ideal.

Ori was a joy. I even bought the soundtrack because it's beautiful. And for once, it's a soundtrack you can listen to that works even without the game. It's gorgeous.

Ahhh Ori... easily one of the games of the year.

I just hope they leave the unlimited soul glitch in the desert. Hopefully with a larger tolerance for spawned creatures, as the PS4 can take much more beating than the PS3.

 
Supposedly, the new owner of the IP is releasing these remasters to recoup some of the $4.9 million they spent to acquire the rights to Darksiders and a few other titles. Afterwards, the company wants to get serious about Darksiders III, but we shall see.

Does Best buy do a preorder guarantee with it's pricing? Like with Amazon if the price drops you get the lowest price it dropped to if you preordered. Does the same apply here with BB?

LOL. How ass backwards is that? They're "considering" remastering the first game? This is just as dumb as the Handsome Collection. But at least you can argue that those two games complelemted each other well.

Because I'm a CAG I own both of the Darksiders games yet I've only played maybe a few hours of the first. What I played was pretty damn good, but as it often happens with me I gkt distracted by another game and never got back to it. Everything I've heard though is that the first game is superior.

I just think it's dumb that they would focus on the second game first. That even hurts my brain typing that.

I'm guessing the 2nd game was done first because it was much easier to do. The developers said that they pretty much had all of the high resolution assets already available for the 2nd game. I'm sure that bringing the first game up to current standards would be a much more significant amount of work and they probably want to test the waters with minimal effort first.

 
I could see XB1 getting the first Darksiders Game as a Pre-order Backwards Compatible incentive, and then just releasing Darksiders BC to everyone anyway.  I would be down with that, even though I've finished both games.  Figure it will be support funding for Darksiders III.

Whelp, that's a pretty strict definition you're working with that I've yet to run across. Prototype didn't launch on Xbox One, and they recently released it for Xbox One. What's not "re-release" about that exactly?
