I won't say that they're necessarily bad. Some people do fall on hard times and need some assistance. But you're right when you say it's usually the same people, same families that get all the help. Living in a small town magnifies that by a bunch. They get food stamps, they go to the food bank, they sign up for all the Christmas toy drives and free Thanksgiving meals, etc. Then their kids go to school in brand new Nike clothes and $100 shoes and all that shit. I've said it here before, I didn't grow up rich, but that wasn't because my parents were spending all their money on material shit.

I've been fortunate enough to be put into a situation where I'm able to help people that have a sudden hardship or whatever, but it's only people that I know have done everything they can to avoid being put into that position. If you got mad and quit your job and don't want to work for 6 months and then come ask me to help stop your truck from getting repo'd, fuck off.

All those D&D games and such use dice when you come across various things to see if you succeed or fail at various tasks. You get hit by a poisoned weapon, you try a feat of strength (break down a door, whatever), you try to sneak up on a monster, etc.. The dungeon master rolls a dice against you, and you roll dice to attempt whatever. Whoever has the higher roll wins.

For example, you get attacked with a poisoned weapon. That's one roll of a 10-sided die for an endurance check. You're a frail guy and your endurance is only 5, so you get a -2 on the roll. 

You might go here and roll the 1d10:

DM rolls: 6

You roll: 9 (-2 for low endurance penalty) = 7

You rolled higher so you resist the poison.

Most games are built on this even if you don't see it. So when you're running around in Witcher or whatever you have similar calculations being performed all the time for hitting enemies, dodging, how much damage you take, etc..

I'm actually surprised we have more sports nerds than rpg nerds in here, especially considering how niche a lot of the games we play are.

The point is I dont want to get into any situations that I may have to explain to anyone. So I am only even talking to chicks out of my league and that I know are most likely unattainable anyway. I can wait until I am fully free to get my freak on. Every other weekend at least.

And yeah the waitress was and is hot and yeah we talked to her and got some info from her but no way do I think that means anything. Its just fun to talk about.

 
There's like a 90% off games sell on Android right now. I don't play many phone games but I might pick up a couple with some of the Google Play Credit I have. It's right on the front page of the Play store if you want to see the games on sale. 

 
yeah talking up chicks is fun. you don't have to get down with every girl you chat with. especially if you're getting back in the deep end of the pool you've got to keep your game up. I used to try to talk to girls at the grocery store or anywhere there wasn't booze just to be sure it wasn't liquor that made me charming.

turns out it was the liquor that made me charming. but at least then I knew!
 
Anymore people want to join fantasy football? I'd really like to get everyone in and do the 2 league thing. It'll be fun when 2 people have the same player they are rooting for/against
 
Speak of the devil.  I just got invited to go to Thee Dollhouse tomorrow night.   $10 for cover and the people I am going with are buying bottles.  Idiots for spending the money but whatever I will drink to that!
