:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

You're a gamer after my own heart man!
I prefer my PS4 for interface and controller over the XB1.

However the XB1 is fun and has some great games, it just doesn't feel as good.

Which is odd, I was all about the 360 due to it's interface and etc during the 7th generation.
For me.. (hardware/interface, not actual games. What one person likes in a game, another may think is total crap and neither is "wrong")

PS1 was better than anything out there at the time.

Xbox imo was better than the PS2..

360 better in the beginning, PS3 caught up and beat the 360 in the end.

PS4 owns the Xbox 1, hands down.

Xbox 1 controller though.. I *do* like the curved triggers. Overall i'd say its a slight bit better than the DS4. Driving games I tend to play better with the xbox controller. FPS I can *manage* better with the DS4 (I don't like FPS on a console, prefer KB/Mouse any day)

Xbox interface.... ANNOYS ME every time I use it. PS4 is so much easier to use, although there are some changes I'd like them to make.

back on topic...

Bastion everyone.. Just go buy it!

I installed dishonored on the PS3 last night and played about an hour. I think i'll be saving the $20 by not pre ordering it on PS4. Free on PS3 with PS+ and i'm happy. Nothing wrong with the game itself, but I don't see myself completing the game on the PS3. I may play some more this weekend before I make a final decision.

i had similar thoughts about dishonored when i got it for christmas in 2012

i played for about an hour and lost interest for whatever reason, then after a year of hearing people talk about how great it is i decided t give it another shot

it's now one of my favorite games and the only game i would consider getting from last generation on current consoles

I've literally own, or have owned everything.

NES vs Sega Master = NES had bigger variety, and was the only I had access to as a child.

SNES vs Genesis vs TG16 = SNES won out, but I am fond of all the consoles of this time period. the Genesis's draw back was some occassional bad visual and very screechy music. I LOVE the TG16-DUO, and it had some great games but sadly never achieved true greatness

PS1 vs N64 vs Saturn = PS1 won due to controller and selection hands down, though 2nd I found was the Saturn and I wish I still had one for games like Dragon Force, and better 2D Fighters, N64 was a dead last, some good games but felt to forced on the 3D Platformer.

PS2 vs DC vs XBOX vs NGC = The PS2 just ruled, so many hits, such a huge selection. NGC was a great system but the 1st-party all felt like this was NIntendo's "experimental" phases, everything mixed things up and in many cases felt good. Xbox was good, but didn't have as much support as I would have liked. Also the original controller was..... huge. The DC died way to fast, but I loved the adventure series and a few other minor franchises.

PS3 vs 360 vs Wii = 360 was my go to system due to content and accessability. Near the end of the life cycle I was favoring the PS3 more due to the XB1's horrible reveal, and more multidisk games being released vs 1 Blu-ray. PS3 did have more foreign support though, and a focus on a larger selection of game genres. The Wii I bought day one, before any other console and.. it fizzled fast. By 2011 it was a virtual console machine and I traded it in after Reggie said they would not bring Last Story, Xenoblade, or Pandora's Tower to the US.. (Boy was I stupid I know.)

PS4 vs XB1 vs Wii U = Simply put PS4 > Wii U > XB1, I love the PS4 and everything about it. I play the WIi U quite a bit, and the XB1 is pretty much just a media machine. I'm literally watching Demolition Man on it as I write this.

3D0, CD-I, Jaguar not listed because they are little more than a foot note IMHO.

Back on topic, the $20 gets you all the DLC which expands the story, also Dishonored was free on Xbox 360 as well. Infact the free on PS+ and Xbox Live was why I sold my complete edition.

I loved the first Xbox controller, the big one. I have 1 still in the plastic :)

Wasn't talking games really.

And Xbox live... I was lucky enough to get into live before it launched officially. (Was only like 2 days and I can't remember if it was a final beta or som
contest) I think live is why the first Xbox wins imo.

All these years later.. Still friends with a guy I met on that very first day on live. Teamxbox was where we all hung out for about a year, before and after live launched.
I remember playing all games, ANY game, that had live multiplayer... Just because it was online multiplayer on a console!!

I was just keeping my game memories back through the PS1 etc. I still have my NES in a box, sold my SNES and Genesis for some unknown reason..
I gave away my Wii.. Neat at first, lost interest kinda quickly.

I sold my Turbo Duo for a Jaguar......

Then promptly sold the Jag.

So many memories.. though I am trying to figure out something.

Why do I feel SO uncomfortably playing Major and Ocarina on the New 3DS XL?

Like, when I try to play it I'm always like "Why am I not playing this on my N64, NGC, or Wii/U"

Back on topic of PSN.. is the new Phantom Breaker PS4 any good?
I had the 360 and enjoyed it, except in MP you couldn't level if you were playing MP.

Despite all the Bastion talk I somehow spaced that it was that low.  I was thinking it was one of those lame 10% off sales or something.

Anyone have thoughts on the Transistor theme?

I'm going to say this... I didn't like Bastion.

It just didn't feel fun at times, and more of a chore.

This was the original release, I spent the night playing through it.

LOVED the sound though.
I believe so. I may be mistaken, but I think I picked it up sometime a few months back during a SquareEnix sale.
Years ago when i worked at game crazy one of my regulars gave me the disc for Threads of Fate and FF7 because there was no trade in value any longer.
Never played,it though

Same here.
My 360 got all the love until maybe the last year before xbone/ps4 came out.
Now my ps4 gets all the love and my xbone and ps3 have conversations about how they coulda been somebody

Here's a video of it in action:

I'll probably end up getting it for $1.02.

I wish it was more like some of those still shots from the game.

Still debating on New 3DS XL or a Vita...

...Other then Monster Hunter with my friend, It's making it real tough to go with that 3Ds
What are you talking about? Isn't Dancing All Night a Vita exclusive. Wait, are you saying you don't have either system? You gotta correct that!

I guess I'll get it for $1.02 even though it's really not what I would have expected.  Need a change up from The Order theme.

Don't know why they couldn't have just made it $1 though... :oldman:

Edit- Actually for the first time ever I have a balance ending in 2 so it actually works out.

One thing I really do like about the theme is that is no big Transistor logo. I hating getting a theme to feel like I'm just paying to advertise someone's game to anyone who happens to be in the room.

I run the Aqua Kitty themes as well.

I really hate pre-rendered video themes like the plague, but love realtime ones as it shows some extra effort was put in, plus some cool programmed randomness.

I need a future PS4 update to add a rotating themes option like on the 3DS, as I've gotten enough good dynamic themes that I'd like it to just pick one at random for me every time I return to the dashboard.

That would be neat. I need some 3DS themes so I can finally use that feature.

That would be cool. Although I only have three with Transistor, N++, and PS1. Actually, might be two as I'm not 100% sure the N++ one is dynamic as I haven't used it yet.

I am SO on the fence.

I enjoyed the combat, but I hated the leveling up in the game and found it tedius to the point I didn't get past the 2nd area as the first character.

Aren't there like 5 characters you play as by the end?
It's just how you have to grow and eat food to level up health, but that takes the same xp you need to raise your other stats.

The entire game is being reworked so the leveling system may change.

Free or bust after yesterday.
what happened yesterday?

This video is a good way to see where you stand... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lJQy5DKySU&t=0m32s
pure amazingness. far more skill than i thought was humanly possible (though I've watched kronovi vids before so i knew what was coming)

Speculation goes like this, since the PS4 version is a year late.. they'll be getting all the DLC free, while the XB1 version will get a complete/goty version as well when the PS4 version is released.

The main point is because, who would want to play a game that's a year old.. just on a different console. So they'd need to offer an insentive.
The vast majority of people? Most people don't own both consoles, and don't really care if the game is a 'year old' if its new to them.

Including all the dlc is always a nice way to say 'thanks for waiting, sorry we took money to delay your game, so here, have some dlc' though.

So I'm going through my download list looking for something to play and noticed I had a lot of licenses renew in the last month.  Seen PS+ stuff do that but it's all owned stuff and mostly DLC so didn't realize they did that.  Also noticed a few games that have since been delisted like NASCAR 14.

Odd question, is there a way to see what I digitally own for each console?
Like the download list shows all 3 systems combined together.

The PS4 has a way to see all I own digitally on it, but what about the PS3 and Vita so I can make inventory of my games.

Vita list on the console will just show everything. I can't remember if the PS3 just shows its stuff or everything. Basically it's a mess and we all wish they would introduce sortable lists.

Kind of sad that maintaining your own spreadsheet is basically the most efficient way to keep tabs on your library.

That's what I thought as well, kind of a pain.

Even worse when I got the SF4 Anniversary Edition last year for cheap and now have a hundreds of avatars and costume packs clogging everything,

For anyone in the Pacific Northwest (WA, OR, ID states), I just started a sticky thread for Fred Meyer coupons applicable to PSN and XBL credit. There's currently a "10% off" coupon valid for Sat, July 25th (games & accessories) ... as well as a "save $10/$20/$30 off $50/$100/$150" in Home Electronics good all next week (Sun, July 26th - Sat. Aug. 1st).  Feel free to add new coupons to the thread (especially for the stacked discounts!), or if you have questions about them. :)

Yeah, I need to do that eventually, atleast write down the purchase dates for games I have that aren't on PSN anymore(like Brave Story: New Traveller and Afterburner Climax) so I know how far to scroll down. >_<

Yeah, I didn't even think about that for all the delisted stuff. Doesn't help that when they renew the licenses on stuff it changes the date and rearranges the list.

If anything that is a reason not to buy or own digital. If I had to go write dates down for digital purchases I made then I'd probably make less.
