:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Atlus USA confirmed Odin Sphere Leifthrasir for NA release in 2016 on PS4/PS3/Vita:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1-79TS8dJU
yeah i totally loved that game but the whole collecting ingredients, making food and eating it to raise your hp took forever. and the whole A-Z potions you had to make and use, especially the heat/cool potions or else you take damage on some levels was just aggravating. Let's see if they still have slowdown on the first dead queen level ;)

I run the Aqua Kitty themes as well.

I really hate pre-rendered video themes like the plague, but love realtime ones as it shows some extra effort was put in, plus some cool programmed randomness.
To bad quality themes like heavy rain crime scene was left for last gen only. The $7 elf blacksmith is meh. Sad how much stuff next gen went back a gen or two. X1 is free custom themes you can use anything free. I like to get animated ones but until then tiny tina theme rules and free.

Odd question, is there a way to see what I digitally own for each console?
Like the download list shows all 3 systems combined together.

The PS4 has a way to see all I own digitally on it, but what about the PS3 and Vita so I can make inventory of my games.
GL easier to have them vanish and never know ms and sony removed licenses from me last gen

Thank you!
Yea, I would focus to much on either growing food or leveling myself that I was rather unbalanced, I never found a happy median and never got past the 2nd level of the first character.

It's a good game, but the system was flawed.

Do you know which games?
I know many games were taken off the store but cans till be downloaded like Turtles In Time ReShelled and X-men Arcade.

I am actual serious as to what games you lost the license for since I was working on an article about just such a thing.

If you've payed for it, and they didn't inform you it was being removed, something needs to be done.

Like permanently list access to? PT is the only one I know of that's been completely pulled from their servers. Frisky might know if there's been others though.

That's why I was double checking.

This right here is a real fear for many digital only purchases, and other companies have already screwed their customers like Walmart and Microsoft Zune's library.

Someone told me Outrun and YuGiOh 5Ds on the 360 were perminantly removed, but I was able to redownload them just fine and get them to work.

Stuff gets delisted weekly but that's the only thing I can thing of that you can't even download again.

All the tables in the PS4 version were showing up as owned in the game yesterday. No idea if they did anything to revoke them after they fixed it but I missed out.
damn. missed it.

http://repod.github.io/psdle/

You guys know about this site tho, right? It is online only, but it sorts your download list really well.

It's what I use until Sony eventually lets us sort/delete stuff on our download list.

Came to post this... it's amazing. Completely organizes all your stuff. Essential for large libraries, really.

For anyone in the Pacific Northwest (WA, OR, ID states), I just started a sticky thread for Fred Meyer coupons applicable to PSN and XBL credit. There's currently a "10% off" coupon valid for Sat, July 25th (games & accessories) ... as well as a "save $10/$20/$30 off $50/$100/$150" in Home Electronics good all next week (Sun, July 26th - Sat. Aug. 1st). Feel free to add new coupons to the thread (especially for the stacked discounts!), or if you have questions about them. :)

Here's the thread ... https://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/347660-sticky-fred-meyers-coupons-valid-upon-xbox-playstation-gcs/
Hmm. So if i'm reading that right I can get $50 worth of credit for $40 at freddies tomorrow?

Abyss Odyssey: Extended Dream Edition — PS4 Trial
Dungeon Travelers 2: The Royal Library & and the Monster Seal — PS Vita Demo

Just Dance 2016 — PS4 Demo

Got to try out that Dungeon Travelers 2 demo....gameplay hasn't looked too great....too simple...I know it's a PSP port...but yeah I'm going to try it.

What's a drpg?
Not sure if you're just pulling my leg... but

DRGP = dungeon rpg, often a direct descendant of the Wizardry games if we're talking about handhelds due to the history of that license.

some handheld examples -- operation abyss, demon gaze, dungeon travelers. etrian odyssey, elminage series

some western examples -- wizardry, bard's tale, might & magic

How to identify -- grid based first person dungeon crawl, usually with complex dungeons full of various traps and monsters and lewt. Almost always turn based, though there is a subgenre of 'real time' drpgs like Grimrock, Eye of the Beholder, Dungeon Master in which enemies do not wait for you to move.

------------

Dungeon Traveler's is actually supposed to be a very good one... I realize the above poster said combat was fairly simple but that's likely just the demo... from what I understand it's a pretty fully featured and relatively complex drpg. In this case, with lots of scantily clad demons.

I have played Moe Chronicle, which has plenty scantily clad monster girls. I'm a huge dungeon crawler fan so i'll likely pick it up sometime. I wish it came with a full sized calendar. But eh it's a free bonus.

I do hope the demo is awesome though can't wait for Tuesday.

Never once heard of those referred to that way.

Reminder that N++'s pre-order price is about as cheap as it'll be for a while:

[Aside: This kind of discount will not be happening much, so if you’re looking to get N++ on the cheap, now’s your chance! Actually we’ll be raising the price when the first big update comes out (it will effectively double the size of the game). More info on that soon ;)]

Hrmmmmmmmm. Probably won't get the coupon for just buying that and having Journey through cross buy?

Wonder what it will be going up to. I would assume if you buy it now that you get that big update for free?
Yeah, it's a free update:

https://twitter.com/metanetsoftware/status/621123075925520384

I'd assume buying Journey, free or not, would still count for the Play 2015 promotion. Galak-Z also looks really good from what has been shown so far.

It's tempting if I would get the coupon, not so much if I wouldn't.

Everybodys' Gone to the Rapture looks quite intriguing but then again all these games will be $5 eventually.

I'll never understand people who would rather play a game they don't really like because it was cheap and will delay getting a game they're genuinely interested in for a year to save $5. I'm a cag for sure, and I get a lot of great games thru ps+/gwg, but I'm glad I've got GCU as well to cut down the cost of those games I'm ready to sink my teeth into now. Opportunity cost cuts both ways, you pay a premium to have shiny things now or you bear the inconveniences of waiting and missing out on the zeitgeist.

Heck, that cereal deal is like 35% off live credit and I regularly pick mine up at least 20% below value.

Because we're crazy people. It's not like I don't have hundreds of games I want to play already backlogged.

It's fairly common nowadays. RPGCodex calls them 'blobbers' iirc, though I have no idea why or how that name came about, so I can't in good faith use it because it sounds weird to me. Wizardry-likes is too long. They're also known as 'dungeon crawlers', but that term is broad enough to also include action games like Diablo so it too is imperfect.

So... drpgs it is I guess. That's fairly specific in usage, at least for now.

At least it isn't destroyed as a term like 'jrpg' and 'roguelike' are.

The worst are those that ignore glowing praise from people for a game so that when they get it for really cheap or on PS+, they proclaim "if I knew it was great, I'd have paid full price."

Because even a bad game can be entertaining, and a game has only failed when it is boring.

There is bad games that are somewhat fun though highly flawed and just garbage games. I do agree with the sentiment. It's the reason why maybe you shouldn't pre-order every greenlight bundle, and maybe save that money for games you'll want to play...but eh everybody is different. Also GCU is amazing esp since it works on sale games as well, so you can wait and save even more woot!

GearCrack Arena would fit in the garbage games category if anyone is confused on that haha. Such a waste of 15 minutes it took me to beat that garbage.

If I type a code into the website and it shows what it's for and then when I click redeem it says "The code you entered may not be correct or may no longer be valid. Please check your entries." that means the code is still good but I already have it on my account, correct?

That usually means it's been previously redeemed, and it doesn't seem like you'd get that message if you were trying to redeem for something you already had...

If you are using

https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/cam/account/giftcard/redeem-gift-card-flow.action

If the code is already used it should give an error on the first page, the same one you saw. If it gives that error AFTER it displays what the code is for and has Redeem on it, afaik that means you already have that item (DLCs, games) afaik and the code is still valid. Are you having a problem with a DLC code or wondering if a DLC code is still valid and eBay-able?

You can go to

https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/liquid/cam/media/media-list.action?filter=games&displayNavigation=false

to try and find it but its a bit of a pain in the ass. Going straight to the DLC page too should show it though, usually just go to the game involved on your PS3/PS4 and go to add-ons to see the list of DLCs you already bought.

Some redeem codes (DLC, pack in games, etc) that come bundled with games have dates on them and they are only guaranteed to be good for the period before they expire. So if it's not been used it could simply be out of date. If it had been used I think it would say it had already been redeemed. I'm pretty sure I remember the PSN codes bundled in with my copies of the Metal Gear Solid Legacy & God of War Saga had expiration dates on them. That was one of my incentives to make sure I got it done before I shelved em and forgot!

Because we're crazy people. It's not like I don't have hundreds of games I want to play already backlogged.
I myself already have most of the games I'm actually excited about. The rest of the games out there are just extra fluff and yeah I'm a bit crazy wanting to still sample what the gaming world has to offer but on the cheap. I don't get bothered by anyone finding a gem of a game on the cheap and wanting to tell others how great it was. Nor do I get bothered by folks that are waiting on sales for games they aren't hot to play right now. I mean, this is CAG not some day one players society! Ha!

...

This deal for pre-ordering games for a 10% off coupon is not worth it for me. I enjoyed the heck out of N+ on DS and then again on PSP. But N++ being PS4 only means I'd not play it since I'm mostly a PS3/TV gamer. So it's not worth it to add to the future backlog unless it's on the super cheap. Also the dev pushing to nag everyone to buy now because the price is going to get hiked up after an update is released is stupid. I don't respond positively to that kind of game pricing. I can already imagine the sales numbers will grind to a snails pace once they do that.

If you are on the fence for any game, just wait for a sale or more information to roll in to push you off the fence. To me, my backlog negates the need for most any game at launch ... especially anything I'm not very interested in to begin with.

Galak-Z looks cool, but I'm not quite sold on the rogue-lite nature of it. I should watch some more videos and decide before next week.
I pre-ordered the living daylights out of it.

Pac-man and Tetris would be called 'roguelikes' nowadays.

"It's so cool! You drop these blocks, and try to fill in lines to destroy them... but guess what? If the wall gets to the top, permadeath! Game over, man, game over. And then you need to start all over. Best roguelike ever."

I recommend using the PSDLE javascript that downloads your history and makes it a hell of a lot easier to find something.

You can add it as an extension to Chrome https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/psdle/jdjhhapoddhnimgdemnpbfagndcnmhii/

Or just type this in when you're on the webstore. javascript:$.getScript("//repod.github.io/psdle/psdle.js");void(0);

I think they'll all be free on Plus like most of the games in the previous Play promos, particularly 2013 and 2014.

... researching...

2013: Stealth Inc (4/2014), Cloudberry Kingdom (6/2015), ibb obb (11/2013), Ducktales (1/2015)
2014: Rogue Legacy (2/2015), The Swapper (1/2015), Hohokum (5/2015), CounterSpy (3/2015)

100% PS Play Promition games for 2013 & 2014 became Free on PS+. So not most... all. But 2012's only had Papo & Yo go free.

It seems reasonable to think this will happen again for the third year in a row... especially with all these indie games.

That usually means it's been previously redeemed, and it doesn't seem like you'd get that message if you were trying to redeem for something you already had...
Well if it's already used it doesn't bring up what the code is for with the option to redeem, it just gives an error message. The error message I'm getting is after it shows me what the code is for and let's me redeem or cancel.
