I seem to recall a Vita firmware patch fixing the X/O issue for Japanese gaming on a Western PSN account. Is that right?

Just ordered IA/VT Colorful. 2-3 days for arrival, though at this point I imagine whoever else was waiting (pharm?) will get his copy before I do.

I sometimes use rest mode, but I think I only ever used suspend once. As a software guy and a trophy addict, I just assume I will be the one that will hit a glitch due to using the feature. That extra 30 seconds or so to start a game is not going to kill me.
I have that (probably irrational) fear as well. Starting up and closing the game properly seems like the best way to make sure trophies work right. Like I said, it's probably irrational.

Some of you guys like these, right?

6" Songbird - $16.99 (GS Exclusive)

Those might have been posted already.
Yeah I have them both pre-ordered. They were only $15 when I ordered them though. Hopefully the orders still go through.

Pancakes is waiting from Play-Asia, Sage ordered on Friday so you should be getting yours around the time she gets her copy. Hope you like the game and it definitely grows on you the more you play. I believe Chewy said he was going to order a copy this week. Vig ordered his copy from Amazon this morning. Glad members here are importing this gem.

There are a bunch of people that ride bikes through the main road in my neighborhood. They are all dressed up in this cycling gear like they think they are going to be Lance Armstrong. Sometimes they ride next to each other taking up most of one of the lanes. Its a pretty busy road.

One of these days someone will look away or down for a second and run right into them.

You like Chorizo too?
I know you're just kidding around, but I'll take this opportunity to jump on my soapbox and say that chorizo is not good. Every mexican restaurant around here, chorizo is the cheapest meat option, and for good reason. It just can't compare to ground beef, I'm not sure why anyone would volunteer to each chorizo over beef on things like tacos, enchiladas, etc.

I only have eaten it with eggs. Only eat it once in a great while. It is pretty damn cheap, tho.

You know my humor. I'm not a fan of Chirizo as there are always better choices for tacos and enchiladas.

Chorizo is awesome although I kind of agree on the point that it is not always a good replacement for beef. I wish it was a more common option here.

MARKpaullin might say that. Since Cainiac asked me for help with a trophy, he better not.

Yes, I am going to milk that one worse than you do an old joke.

I don't think you're a loser for liking them, but I'll always personally think they're worthless. Leaving out the context of the trophy is incredibly misleading. This particular trophy was handled as games from the pre internet connected systems handled unlocks. You perform a task and doing so unlocks a secret/bonus/feature in the game that actually affects how you play/what you can do/new content. This one just happened to have a trophy attached. Obtaining this trophy (and it is a difficult task without help in a party) was the only way to unlock the final extra swappable skill tree templates, allowing you to have 5 (up from 4) skill chills switchable at will whenever you like without spending money/time to respec each time.

I wouldn't see a point to completing this if it had only been for the trophy itself as it forced a very limited loadout/with no skill points spent in a game boasting 5 different mix and match skill trees with 8 additional mini skill trees that push customization further. I'm a completionist when it comes to actual game unlocks, thats my 100% rather than a plat. But its whatever floats your boat, gaming at its core is about having fun. If you're not having fun you're doing it wrong. Thats why my only real beef with trophies as I've stated time and again is how they can affect people to completely avoid a great game due to a hard/glitched/impossible plat and subsequently ecourage them to play bottom of the barrel fare simply to easily boast trophy score despite not having fun while doing so and even actively complaining about how bad it is. I would actually hunt trophies more often if they came as game unlocks dressed up in a metallic overcoat.

tl;dr: LOSER!

ACTUAL tl;dr: I enjoy additional content unlocks yet have no interest in building/showing off a public badge of honor

Chorizo must be good. They use it all the time on the Food Network. (Not that I watch the Food Network, but every time it's on they're using Chorizo.) I just searched their website and got 542 recipes containing chorizo. By comparison, there are only 68 recipes containing bratwurst.

Chorizo > bratwurst.

Pitfall 101 - What not to do when you win the lotto:

http://madamenoire.com/578480/powerball-winner-spends-9-million-to-bail-boyfriend-out-of-jail/

Marie Holmes, of North Carolina, decided that she was going to accept her $188 million winnings in one lump sum, meaning she was awarded $127 million. After taxes, she received $88 million. And while Holmes announced that she had plans to pay her tithes and set up college funds for her children, she’s ended up doing something entirely different with her riches.

Shortly after she won the money, Holmes posted $3 million bond for her boyfriend Lamarr McDow. McDow was in jail, facing heroin trafficking charges. McDow was implicated after an investigation unearthed more than 8,000 bags of heroin.

But Holmes found herself behind bars too recently. Last month, police came to her home to arrest McDow who had violated conditions of his parole by missing curfew. When officers searched the house, they found McDow had a .45 caliber pistol and there was less than a half an ounce of the drug and paraphernalia in Holmes’ Brunswick County home.

She then spent an additional $6 million to get McDow out of prison. He was released with a GPS monitoring device.

Two other people in the house were also charged with simple possession. Three children were present at the time of the arrest, McDow said they were his children.

According to WWAY, Holmes and McDow are engaged. And they also reported that Holmes took to the news station’s Facebook page to respond to criticism about the story which has been reported, for the most part, on local news outlets

“What Y’all need to be worried about is Y’all money and not how I spend mine this is benefitting Y’all how? And no he’s no drug dealer or user but who are Y’all to judge anybody? I will definitely pray for Y’all because it’s much need…they talked about Jesus so I’m not surprised Y’all are talking about me but be blessed though,”

Not if you play GOW on Vita. That buggy POS game will/can screw up trophies if you put it to sleep. Haven't had issues with any other game though.

Edit: Gatored!

I could totally understand spending $9 million to get her heroin dealing boyfriend out on bail, but thinking ya'll (y'all?) is a proper noun?  Unforgivable.

We had one of those, but finally had to stop using it. Whenever the power would go off, rather than working silently, that model would do a high pitched beep periodically to let you know it was running on back-up power (because how else would one know the power in the house was off ) which would drive the dog into a frenzy.
There are models were you can mute that. But yeah it is annoying. I had one years ago (trip-lite brand) and came home to my computer powering up and then down, up and then down repeatedly. Decided it wasn't worth it and never replaced it. Probably should buy a better / larger capacity one some day.

Finished Matt Hazard 1, it is very much like Retro City Rampage, a few amusing movie and video game references wrapped in pretty mediocre gameplay. Hard difficulty was rather challenging at times, though on later levels that's partly because there were lots of fire fights between some of the checkpoints or they threw a TON of enemies at you. Just have some misc. combat related trophies to get through chapter select and I'll have the plat.

There was one particular fight I had a lot of trouble with in which you are in a multi-level lobby with big glass windows and there is an attack helicopter shadowing you. As soon as you go up the stairs to the 2nd floor the attack helicopter can take pot shots at you and you have enemies to the left, right, straight ahead. So you have to bait the helicopter to start attacking you on the first floor, then quickly run up the stairs and headshot enough guys from cover before the helicopter swings around to attack you on the stairs. There is no cover on the 2nd floor that doesn't expose you to helicopter fire or enemy gun fire so have to make 2 or 3 quick enemy headshots to minimize the amount of enemies firing at you, so you can run up the nearby stairs to the 3rd floor where there is cover near the back that has your back to a dead end alcove so you are safe from helicopter and enemy gun fire.

One mechanic I did like which worked right probably 90% of the time was forward, auto-cover move. When behind cover there is the lateral cover move which is in most games. IE. two pillars side by side, you hold to the edge of pillar, press a button and the game automatically shifts you from one pillar to the next. If you want to move forward in most other cover-based games you unsticky from cover, move forward, then resticky behind new cover with a button press. In Matt Hazard, if the cover is within 8 or 10 feet in front of you, you can aim the cursor at the cover, press triangle, and your character will sprint out of cover and sticky onto the new piece of cover for you.
You didn't even mention Will Arnett or Neil Patrick Harris ;)

Matt Hazard/CoD WaW were my first ps3 plats ;)

I'm at the beach in Delaware and suddenly I don't seem to care about trophies as much anymore...

Must be something in the water here
Are the beaches crazy crowded up there? Based on all the people that seem to head south, I always wondered if there was a ton of secluded beaches up that way.

Which beach?

Also welcome to the fold.

Buy a bunch of tax free stuff while your here, then regret it when you get home.

Speaking of prison.  I watched some of a stand up special last night where Jeff Ross went to a Texas prison to do a show for inmates.  It was fairly entertaining.  That guy has some really great jokes at the roasts on Comedy Central.

oh man I'm trying to watch some everybody's gone to the rapture gameplay and I just can't
I probably know the answer to this due to your crack of dawn playing schedule but did you play Temple of Osiris online with 3 other people? I am seeing people on one site say it worked fine with one partner, but with a 4 person team it essentially became unplayable.

I'm in Bethany. It's way more crowded than I'm used to. I normal go to a friend's place between Bethany and Dewey and there's usually a lot less people there. I'm sure I'll go to the outlets since I'm here for a full week.

Also, trophiez 4 lyfe!

I don't know if there's anyone left that wants to get one, but there's a targeted promo code from newegg for 30% off certain video game stuff that works on pstv.  Gets it down to 34.99.

I wouldn't be shocked if that was the case, but it's just me and top. It resets progress all the time at loading screens with just two (i.e. kicks you back to the previous area with your score sometimes going back to zero) and we've had some minor disconnect issues too.

edit - it's also not that good of a game. it's sort of funny I guess. some of the challenges are a pain in the ass too (which is the only gold trophy) - we hit one today that I just don't know about. it's a weird trap section where you're surrounded by spikes and two bad guys that shoot three way projectiles and you're not supposed to take damage. it's half way through the level which would be really annoying if you tank it.

Other than those issues how does the game actually play? Similar to the first one GoL? I had fun with that one so I was hoping this one wouldnt be a buggy mess.

I didn't play much of the first one but by all accounts it's a better experience. it's been pretty funny since I broke my mic whenever we played rocket league so I just listen to top's semi-inebriated running commentary about the puzzles. I also spent an entire morning thinking my mic was working and he was just ignoring me.

But ultimately it plays ok, and I've definitely played much worse. It's definitely not something to struggle through solo.

Wait, you cant even play it single player? The first was a lot of fun just single player.

TL;DR: Pete is an idiot for not buying the pair of golds he had in his hand when they were on sale.

I'm really expecting them to either be $5 or given away on Black Friday with any Sony purchase at this point.
