This article definitely made me laugh. Hopefully I haven't broken any of these rules in the thread.

I'd been meaning to share this list with you. Supposedly the 20 best beers in the world, though only 12 different breweries.

http://time.com/3994409/worlds-best-beers/

I've only had the two New Glarus fruit beers on the list. Had the #1 ranked Wisconsin Belgian Red last night and it was delicious, but I don't know if it's the best beer since its so fruity.

Do the 100ish% trophy guys just never play a game they don't like? Suffer through it for completion percent? All have a backup account where they try games first before they put it on their real account?

Gator, you're close, how does this work? I know I'll never have 100% 'cause I don't like multiple playthroughs and I'm terrible at a lot of things, but some of the completion percentages in this thread alone are crazy.

Finally got that last Munch's Oddysey trophy for the plat after like 7 playthroughs across a few years..900 tt points and now my 2nd most points game...now it's deleted forever

Belgian red is good, but I'm not a huge cherry fan...Raspberry tart is my favorite of the main 3 fruit beers they have.

The only other ones I've had on there are zombie dust, and pseudo sue...Pliny the elder is one I've heard of and been meaning to try...those 2 are possibly my 2 favorite beers, so that list could be pretty legit as far as I know.

Yeah... I am not so sure about that list. While I buy those New Glarus beers by the case, I am not sure they deserve that distinction. Maybe since most fruit beers are so awful and those are world class is why they got the top spots, but that doesn't seem to fit either.

A few of those break rule #1 from the article I posted. They probably made the list just because they are tough to get. You could even put the New Glarus beers in that category.

I have had half of the list, and I do not think it is representative of the best beers in the world. Then again, those lists rarely are.

If I want to play something, I play it. The only times I have avoided games I would have otherwise wanted to play was Rayman Legends because of the tacked on MP BS. It was more due to that than the fact there were also trophies tied to that part of the game.

I just like to finish stuff if I start it. Rarely do I think I will like something and be so wrong that I completely give up on it. Mirror's Edge is the only one currently on that list. The ridiculously stupid gimmicky things in Metrico may end up with it on the list too.

I have definitely suffered through multiple playthroughs for completion percentage in the past. Main ones that come to mind are the PoP remakes. 2 of those were fucking brutal.

I like Serendipity the best. The flavors from the oak that it gets make it a standout for me. I love them all but Belgian Red is my least favorite. I think most do prefer it though.

The 3 you mention in the second paragraph all belong. It is hard to be world class in such a crowded category as Pale Ale or Double IPA but those 3 all are.

Looks like I'll be getting the physical version of this one
For some reason I didn't remember that localization was announced and that it was getting a retail release as well. Cool.

For some reason Risen 3: Titan Lords — Enhanced Edition is releasing on PS4 tomorrow:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/08/20/risen-3-titan-lords-enhanced-edition-hits-ps4-tomorrow/

$40 and includes all DLC.

I was going to post about this as well. It's odd. I had to think for a second about it. "Today is Thursday, right? Not Monday?" It's been a fast year.

Rayman Legends definitely suffers from the 'too much shit' syndrome that developers seem to be stuck on these days.  There's soooo many levels (especially with the addition of the invasion and classic levels) but on top of that there's also collectibles and speed running for each level, unlockables and the tacked on multiplayer component which is admittedly fun (and would've made a really decent standalone game for $2 or something) but it's an interminable grind for no good reason if you intend on getting all of the trophies (and of course it put me in straight up obsessive mode trying to get in the top 1% or whatever for the trophy).

It's an excellent platformer, but Origins is the better game by default just because it's a complete game without being over the top crammed full of stuff.

Rayman Origins is probably the best platformer in the last decade, with Super Meat Boy as a close second.

Of all the ones I have played, it is definitely my favorite. I did not think anything could unseat Super Mario Galaxy from that spot, but it did. I have already played it on PS3 and Vita. I have seriously considered getting the 2 import versions that stack too (Russia and Japan I think).

Rayman Legends China actually did not have the stupid tacked on MP BS initially. It was recently added as DLC. I have considered borrowing that from the import site I am on since I dont give a shit about DLC when it comes to completion.

Did you guys get to that part of the thread where they started talking about raising the price of the game when they got the additional content done?
Yeah, I saw that lol, dumb as hell.
Wait... that wasn't a joke?!?!?

If the PS3 and Vita import versions also have separate lists, I might seriously consider paying ~$40 to get both Japanese copies through Amazon.

Konami has a poll to gauge fan interest in their old properties: http://mobilesurvey.blicx.com/?

I hope they're not just going to use the results to make more pachinko machines.
Damnit, timed out on me while I was looking at the Konami game list for a refresher so I lost a lot of long responses on that last page.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Konami_games

Main game which jumps out at me that wasn't mentioned in the survey is Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

edit: ah, looks like they only published it and since Lucas Arts published it on the Wii VC I doubt they would have any part in developing a followup.

They don't. Vita list is common worldwide. I am not certain on what countries the other 2 PS3 stacks are from. I am pretty confident one is Russia. *I think*, the other one is either Japan or China.

Serendipity is the one New Glarus one on there I haven't had. Liked both the Raspberry Tart and the Belgian Red. I think I liked the Belgian Red a little better, but both blew away my expectations for a fruit beer. Both tasted great and went down easy.

Another friend on untappd informed me that the Pseudo Sue is available in MN now so I'll definitely seek that out, along with the others Crazy mentioned.

Although I played very little of Super Mario Galaxy 2 and finished Galaxy I think 2 might be the better game which is crazy. The little bit I did play was awesome.

I've started Rayman Origins on both PS3 and Vita but haven't finished either.  Probably didn't even make it half way on either.  Or past world 3.  And I love platformers.  Just wasn't feeling it.  Am I a bad person?

I am not sure if Three Floyds is in Minnesota. If it is, it will still be really tough to get Zombie Dust. It flies off the shelves and very little makes it away from the Chicago area.

Do not bother looking for Pliny the Elder. You won't find it anywhere near the Midwest. It is hard to find on the West Coast where it is distributed. Kegs occasionally make it to Falling Rock in Denver and Monks Tavern in Philadelphia. It was the reason I walked 2 miles round trip when in Philly since it was on at Monks.

SMG2 is definitely better than the first. I felt like I was finally playing a 3D Super Mario World. Removing the hub in favor of a traditional level-select mechanic probably helped.

Thanks for the info. That will save me some searching. I actually had the Pride & Joy from Three Floyds last night. Friend's kid left it in the fridge or something so they gave it to me.

Last bit I saw yesterday was when someone dropped some brutal, well reasoned truth and they called him cynical.
I think all the devs are on NeoGaf because it seems like all the people on there like to perform verbal fellatio on them. If anyone dares say anything negative, out come the torches and pitchforks.

haha, this gem got added overnight:

Edit - oops, he asked that this not be taken out of context, so you guys should read the whole thing here:

Just came to post the link for that one. But what I don't get about his already crazy argument is the immediate jump from $10 to $20. There's a price point right in the middle there that would have worked a whole lot better for them than $20. $15 with an additional preorder or plus discount would have been a lot easier for most people to swallow.

I mean good lord guy, yes you have to value your work, but you also can't just say fuck YOU to the market and expect everything to turn out wonderfully. He's being intentionally obtuse in regards to how the market functions and what to do in order to expect financial success.

I've got no problems with a small dev trying to change how the market works, if that's what you want to do, fine. But at the same time you can't really keep bitching at the "ignorant masses" when, predictably, you don't hit the same financial success markers that the other guys do. And planning to increase the price later after you've already had shit sales is dumb as fuck.

tldr: this guy is a fuckin idiot

I think the last Mario game I played was Super Mario 2 Yoshi's Island. Damn I'm old.

So what's the story on the "woooing" at Pirates games? Are they going "Woo! Woo!" like a choo choo train, or is it something else? The video on this page gives no clue:

http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2015/08/19/some-pirates-fans-frustrated-by-wooing-at-pnc-park/#.VdWOzqvpr_8.twitter

Apparently some Pirates fans are pretty upset about it.

EDIT: found a video with it. And boy is it dumb:

http://deadspin.com/5940688/pnc-park-rings-with-ric-flair-wooos-as-pirates-fans-liven-up-game-with-impromptu-nature-boy-calls
Baseball fans are dumb. "Don't cheer at our games, unless you're cheering in a way I approve of."

Everything about baseball is stupid. Go Astros.

Is this a problem for anyone besides you trophy people? I can't imagine the average gamer is sitting there saying "God this game has too much stuff to do. I never should have bothered playing it"

We have a 100% guy in the thread you can ask...

I'll drop it now since I know we drug this thread around a bunch yesterday, but that dude kwisc did a really great job of bringing the dev back down to earth. English apparently isn't his first language but he was pretty solid at getting the point across that when you're idealistic and refuse to cater to the market at all you've surrendered your right to make money. "Making art is a privilege."

I would give this post a like if I hadn't played MO and if I didn't know how unbearable it must have been to play it as much as you did and has nothing to do with the fact that you're now 900 points closer to me on the leaderboard.

It also seems odd that all the while he complains about the cost of doing business and advertising being scummy, he's resorting to the passive aggressive posting on Neogaf as his advertising. I think he's watched too many "save this tv show" campaigns that worked. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that he has enough fans of his "show" to save it.

That is nutty, I must have skipped over that part. What a shitty idea.

I also skipped over him using the word "craftspersonship" instead of "craftsmanship" which Gator pointed out. That is awful.
