It isn't. It is awful. I think I paid $5 and I wish I hadn't. It is similar to the Sherlock Holmes game but much much shittier.
Yeah I remember now, I almost bought it at $5 but read that it was shitty and glitchy. I guess that's why in my mind it was on sale for $1 because that's about what it's worth.

Metal Gear was never not going to get 9s and 10s. Critics have a huge boner for that series. Everyone gave 4 a 10 and it's pretty much considered the 4th best Metal Gear game in the main series now.

I was thinking of doing that too...

Tyler, didnt you really like Riptide? Did you see the Last Bosman? He didnt something on the game but it was just a spoof right? there isnt some big thing on the game right?
I liked but didn't love Riptide. It needs about 8 more courses and 2-3 more racing modes. The local MP is also awful. The core game is good but you really start getting bored of the same tracks over and over by the end.

I saw Final Bosman on it. I didn't get it at all. Yes, it's not a popular game at all, he was spoofing something else. But I have no idea what, even NeoGAF didn't even really understand what the fuck he was talking about. It was a really poor episode.

Even Pokemon fans aren't safe at the World Championships. It's good they caught those 2 before anything could of happened.

The world depresses me. Thank you games for distancing me from reality!

I gave approximately zero fucks about the new metal gear until I read that the controls weren't stupid anymore and the cutscene aren't ridiculously long. Now I am slightly more interested.
Same here. I never liked the Metal Gear franchise, tedious gameplay and an awful convoluted story. I've been watching videos of gameplay for V for the past couple months and was blown away. Looks incredible. Even snagged the Collectors at BBY with GCU.

I picked up Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD yesterday and grabbed the Revert pack with it as well, girlfriend and I played it for about 3 hours last night passing the controller back and forth. Really good times, great to hear two of my favorite tracks from 2 in there as well. Looking forward to 5 more now, will be a day one.

Couldn't have said it better. Review scores are a guideline at best on all games as it is, but for these legacy franchises they're worth even less than that.

Ugh You've just gone full bro at this point. Stick with your fancy retail releases, weird JRPGs, and trophy whoring.

Does not compute.

You're right. Bro isn't the right word for Stotch. His tastes are still pretty much god awful, but I guess because he plays those weird jrpg's that bro isn't the right word.

But at this point it really doesn't seem there's ever any reason for him to play a indie/smaller title ever again. He's hated enough of them that he might as well just avoid them.

American Ninja Warrior is weird. The old Japanese version was just like succeed or fail, that's it. But I guess there are now multiple levels of qualifying, and most the people who qualify actually fail the course? It's confusing.

Wow, lvl 2 social links in Danganronpa can suck it. At least when going for lvl 1 you got new pieces of backstory every now and then, at lvl 2 you get no new relevant dialogue until you max them out and you have to also play a boring mini-game. Got within 1 heart of maxing a character (takes 10-13 encounters per character), but the mode ended and it doesn't save your place so I had to completely start over with her when I restarted the mode.

Sherlock: Crime and Punishment is what we got with PS+. The Raven isn't a Sherlock story at all.
Yeah I got confused as I thought Crime and Punishment was the new one but only on PS4. I thought I had played the old one. I know Raven isnt Sherlock.

Really hard to remember all these shitty games.

I saw someone in one of the reviews describe the game as an "action game", something I've never ever heard about the core MGS series.

Maybe the game will actually be more fun than some of the predecessors.
I'm surprised how much people think its going to be like all the other Metal Gears. The talk coming out since the beginning is the story is more a puzzle the players have to piece together through gameplay.

Still more fun than Metal Gear.

You guys really must not have been watching any videos on it at all. I'm actually giddy for this game and have thought every previous entry was awful.

Peace Walker is much more action-y than the other MGSs due to all of the mech boss battles.

Nope haven't watched anything. What's so different about it, specifically gameplay wise? I don't care about the story being different or puzzled together. If I wanted to play a game for the story I'd watch a movie.

This is some pretty good box art:

Too bad Nintendo didn't put Platinum Games' logo on the front, though. It's Bayonetta 2 all over again.

oh wow I just looked it up magus looks terrible. is it terrible?
What Pancakes said. Not sure how it got made and/or released. Definitely looks like a PS2 game. The character stance and movements are pretty hilariously bad. But it was kinda sorta fun just mowing down baddies with one hit pretty much the whole game. Got my $2 worth.

It is pretty terrible, but it is only 5 hours of terrible. Nothing in it is broken. It is literally run around spamming R1 for 5 hours for a plat (along with spamming of X IIRC for skipping the horrible story portions). Be prepared for index finger cramps unless you make use of that turbo controller for it. I wish I had one when I played it.

EDIT: And it does not look like a PS3 game. It looks like a PS2 game.

How was Xblaze? I've been considering that Vita game that's in the flash sale. I haven't actually played a VN yet (Daganronpa will be my first) and don't know how much I'll enjoy that kind of game. Is Lost: Memories pretty newbie-friendly or would you have to be pretty into the genre to enjoy it?

Yeah I mean PS2. Big ol' thumbs hit 3. Textures are poor and animations are laughable and scenery is generic. But #common plats!

Gator really isn't to person to ask since he just skipped everything.

EDIT: I actually played the first one and it was just okay as VNs go. It didn't really hold my interest since I'm not a fan of the series/universe in general.

This is true. However, those were the Japanese versions. So even if I hadn't skipped as much as I could (and you couldn't skip a lot on it since there is no auto skip which sucked) I would not have known wtf was going on anyway.

I have the US Vita version on the way. I had hoped to get it before the others got to me so I could play all 3 at once with my second Vita. Now I am debating buying PayDay 2 from Gamefly and getting the US PS3 version to play both at the same time again. Since it looks like it will take me forever to get enough of a group together to get the Deathwish missions done and the stealth and other trophies are a PITA, it just doesn't make a lot of sense to continue renting it.

Taxi and Central Park??? So this is a one machine week, or are you not adding scores together? I'm confused.

CP is an electromechanical (EM) game with super low scoring. Like 6000 would be a good game of it.

Now that you mention it, 8 hours is pretty damn fast for the plat. And good to know--I'll pass.

Super weird that Sesame Street is going to be on HBO now. Not that it matters to us any more, but for parents with young kids that's got to suck. Though I suppose it gives them an excuse to get HBO. So maybe it's not all bad.

For someone that would win every week even if the other 12 of us added all of our scores together you sure are super worried about how this is going to work.

Let me clue you in on the top secret process of how I pick the tables.

1. Go to psnp and see which trophies I'm missing

2. Find the two with the highest completion percentage

3. Those are the tables for the week

The central park score will be taken x 1,000,000 just to fuck with you guys. Sound good?
