25 is high level? wat
The only people who reach level 25 are those that get multiple badges or buy lots of games. Some people think it means the user has been around for a while. "But the guy was Level 20! He's not a scammer!"

Anyone can buy enough card sets to get to level 25 and seem "legit".

Edit: Wait, The Stand with Gary Sinise? I haven't seen a book with his face in the cover. Ever. And I've never seen any GoT books with photos of the TV actors but I wouldn't be surprised if they exist.
That dude plays AdVenture Capitalist so you know he's a shady fuck er

After the The Stand miniseries on TV, the novel carried a new cover tying into said miniseries. Back in the... mid-90s?

Does GW2 F2P come with free shit for the paid members? I bought an account off a friend once for $10 and played it for maybe upwards of seven minutes. I better get free shit out of this.

Glad I passed on those $10 Guild Wars 2 deals now. Wouldn't have been able to get Heart of Thorns at a low price anyways. Free to play seems decent enough to try the game out, and for normal solo play.

LOL the F2P aspects of GW2 are a joke...no point in even playing w/o the base account unless you just want to test the game.

i am downloading it now, lol

wanna get a group going?

Thanks to last week, I now somehow figure GMG's sale name is because London has high temps of 76 (F) and thus the English are afraid everyone's going to start dying on the streets because of the turrible "heat wave."

Hah, exactly.  Not as bad as the equator but 65-75 is nothing even with humidity.  Where I live it routinely gets to 90+ with 100% humidity in the summer.

To be fair, British folks only know three kinds of weather: Fog, snow and rain. They don't know how to handle the heat, and most probably don't even have air conditioners installed.

Lame. I demand a warbler that sits on my head or a Ring +1 Bitch about Newbs or a special title like "Paid Too Much For This Game".
I'd rather them be able to give a special discount on Heart of Thorns somehow to GW2 base-game owners.

I'd guess they'd have to do something like that through Arena.Net, if they were going to do such a thing.

It's alright, though. I bought GW2 around Black Friday last year; activated account; and that was it. Still ain't touched GW2 since back when I played it in Beta (no NDA's) and I thought it was awesome back then.

I see someone wasn't paying attention. People were in an uproar because buying Heart of Thorns got you GW2 base for free. Everyone was crying. Oh woe is us. And so they said fine. And did it this way.

Basically, piss off they're going to do whatever they want regardless.

I think you missed my point.

I remember the uproar. But even by making GW2 base-game F2P (even w/ its restrictions on noobs), they still did NOT completely solve the problem for original GW2 core owners.

GW2 core-game owners can't just upgrade to HoT at expansion-pack type of pricing (i.e $30-40 MSRP, since HoT is really just an expansion pack here). It's still $50 MSRP for GW2: HoT Standard Edition (which is GW2 core + HoT expansion).

Likely, most people that bought GW2 core likely paid $10 or more for it already.

($10 was the cheapest I've seen it, IIRC)

Regardless, the dev's are going to do what they're going to do. And likely, I'll just catch HoT in some kind of sale or something when it bricks down in price - especially since I already own GW2 core. Good thing I ain't done much w/ GW2, since I got plenty of time to play GW2 core and can be patient to wait for HoT to brick.

played for like almost an hr, very generic. and empty( barely any activity/low population). no wonder they are offering f2p options.

game looks about to be dead soon, that is why they are offering f2p options to rejuvenate the player base.

Too much debate and drama over a crappy B-List MMO. At least reserve it for crappy AAA console games, guys.
Pricing schemes like these are always worth debating.

B/c a lot of these business practices, they're crappy to the consumer. That's why we normally try to be CAG's and buy low.

It's nonsense for them to sell core-game (GW2 base-game); later not sell an expansion-only version in some way (which they could sell directly via Arena.Net, mind you); and just instead sell a re-release as a complete package w/ base-game + expansion at full MSRP (Standard Ed at $50).

Basically, to get the expansion stuff - you have to buy GW2: HoT Edition. It sucks if you purchased GW2 b/c there's no loyalty discount here - still to get new content, you have to buy HoT Edition.

If you do the F2P thing, is there even a reason to buy GW2: HoT? You're basically getting GW2 free, even if it has some restrictions - why would you even buy HoT Edition, if it ain't on sale?

Even other games on Steam have done the Loyalty Discount thing at their launch for their expansions, stand-alone expansions, HD re-releases, and/or re-released edition w/ more content - i.e. go see STALKER: COP + Metro Redux re-releases + Deus Ex: HR DC.

EDIT:

I have no problem w/ them going F2P to bring customers into the game - that's awesome! :)

I just find the benefits for GW2 core-game owners lacking - especially w/ no Loyalty Discount option. That discount could get them to want to get HoT expansion ASAP.

I'm taking bets on how long Fox's new persona lasts before it drives him crazy and he realises he's made a terrible mistake. In fact, let's make it a sweepstake.

I'm going for 7th November 2015. Around breakfast time.

:whee:
Are you sure he hasn't felt regret already?

Gonna send blade a poopees bundle gift on his birthday.

Dragon Age: Inquisition - Trespasser DLC announced.

For all those who finished DAI (base-game), you can check the spoilers for the DLC details.

-> Takes place 2 years after the events of the base-game

-> Qunari will pose a major threat to the player

-> Even more will be learned about the Inquisitor's mark
Not sure who has played the previous DLC or if it has been talked about but here is my 2 cents.

DLC #1 Jaws of Hakkon was boring and didn't really add anything important. Story was poor and uninteresting. New location was visually nice. It cost $15 in USA fun dollars.

DLC #2 The Descent was incredibly dumb and overhyped. The story was AWFUL. The ending was especially bad and it essentially causes a big wake-up for the world to comprehend but NOTHING comes from it in the end. It cost $15 USA funbux.

Doesn't set a great example for DLC #3.

How much time did you get out of DLC 1+2?

I don't know about 2, but the first one, Jaws of Hakkon, took me about 5 hours to do everything.

I thought it was good though. It had some challenging fights and gave some nice backstory about the Avaar.

How much time did you get out of DLC 1+2?
Less than a handful of hours with each.

JoH has a short story and offers up some sidequests to pad it. With the sidequests I probably got about 4 hours out of it?

Descent also had a short story but it and the few sidequests it offered, which are collection sidequests btw, are all in a linear ~7 story dungeon. Before you get excited the layers are all short and I actually spent more time in combat than I did exploring. I got maybe 6 hours out of it but most of that was either in combat or me trying hard to find something other than enemies to fight. I really feel like I got <4 hours worth of content.

I really liked DAI but I never bothered with the DLC. From everything I've read they've seem short and tacked on unrelated to anything to do with the main storyline.

This one from that Q&A sounds like it will give a chance to chat with companions post ending briefly and get some epilogue info, but the main story deals with Qunari invasion with is again just some side tangent. They've pretty much said the stuff in that sort of cliffhanger / twist ending isn't really going to be dealt with but saved for a future game.

Eh, I'll wait and see and read some responses and then maybe grab it on a sale. The value on those DLC is way less because I'm not getting 100+ hours for $50 I'm getting 4 hours for $15. Even heading south of the border for a bit of a discount still doesn't make it worth it for me if the DLC is short and the story is tangential and not really drawing me in.

At this point, SE can go fuck themselves
Pretty much, I totally agree with you.

"Development of Final Fantasy XV began shortly before its unveiling at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) trade fair in May 2006, where it was announced for the PlayStation 3 under its original title Final Fantasy Versus XIII".

9 years.... have passed since that announcement.

inb4 another Duke Nukem twin fail.

Azure Striker Gunvolt seems to be a really bad port from the 3DS.  :(

Inti Creates is also behind Mighty No. 9 and Bloodstained for the majority of the versions.  Just makes me not want to try their upcoming games on PC.

I almost bought it but read up on it and seems like I dodged a bullet. Watched a Youtube video and it looks like half assed 3DS emulator complete with two screens and then a background on a bunch of unused screen space. There's a ton of complaints about it too.

Definitely not paying for that. Maybe it will sneak in with some other games I actually want in a bundle someday.

Again, I say Japanese should outsource their ports.

9 years....not a good sign.

I hope that since this game has been in a very long-term Development Hell, they can straighten things out and get this game out of that and release something amazing.

We can only...

At least they've patched the game and fixed a major graphics issue for AMD users, so it's showing some progress. Bloodstained will have a beta period on GOG/Steam before the full release so I'm hoping most potential issues will get patched before final release

Is that the character from the new game? Their character designs this century all seem to have this creepy Asian person who got eye fold surgery, bleached their hair and put in blue contacts look.
Naw.

That's Hope from FF13.

I was saying "We can only Hope (that FF15 turns out well)".
