A critique I have so far with the Witcher 3, in my short time playing it, is that the world doesn't feel quite alive. I guess I'm nitpicking, but it doesn't quite measure up to the level of npc behaviour in Gothic 3. A look at some videos of the free camera mod of Witcher 3 confirmed my belief. The npcs only move normally when they are within Geralt's radius, and outside a certain distance are all messed up. Meanwhile, in Gothic 3, the world continues to be a living place outside the nameless hero's immediate radius, as seen on free camera videos of the Gothic 3. Just an observation, and this just highlight's PB's mastery of this aspect of an open world rpg.

Or maybe the Witcher 3 is not aiming to be open world, but instead is an intricate Truman Show meant to only fool the protagonist? Hmmmm.

Incredibly important information:

All copies of Starlite (including the key I just got from Tremor) come with G-Ball, apparently. So if you're missing that from whatever shitty IG Monday it was in a year ago, free +1.

There's some game called H-Hour on Steam that's doing a free weekend apparently. Disappointingly, it's just some lame ass low budget military shooter game. Based on that name, I was expecting something completely different.

To be specific - Telltale's GOT Ep 1 here starts right around the events of The Red Wedding.

With taking the things that come w/ a TellTale game with gripping moments; plot twists; excellent story-telling + voice-acting (with some voice-overs from characters on the show); and decisions that will shape the actual journey of the game - looks like TellTale has done it again.

If you don't like Telltale's stuff - I don't think this game will change your mind on their type of games.

If you do like TellTale's stuff & like GOT...

Thanks for this. GoT and Tales from the Borderlines are the only TT titles I don't own, and I'm not really interested in Tales. Now the question is do I pick up GoT (and two extra Poker keys) for eight bucks? I still haven't been able to bring myself to finish 400 Days and WD2, but I've been jonesing for more GoT in the off season...

Or I could learn to play Crusader Kings 2 so I could get the GoT mod...riiiiiiiiight.

BBQ sounds good right about now.

M$ needs their exclusives to get people to move Win 10. While I would rather the game be on Steam than any crappy M$ service (given how horrible G4WL was) - hey, it is what it is. [shrug]

Though, if M$ wants to, more or less, force me to move to Win 10 - they got to bring out the big guns for games, make them DX12 only, and do better than this. Gigantic, Gears of War Ultimate, and Fable Legends are just NOT going to be enough to move me over - none of these smell like killer-game app's to me.

I'll be honest, bro, I'm ill equipped to keep this up. I've only seen a handful of PewDiePie vids and I have no clue what this Brony stuff is about. But your fist of doubt will awaken a fist of determination inside me.

Embarrassingly, I put 8 hours into ARK since yesterday.

I have an i5-2500k @ 4.3ghz, 16GB RAM, and a 780 Classified....apparently they "optimized" it recently. I call bullshit. I have everything on LOW and I get 15-30 FPS. Fun game but I would never pay $30 for something that runs like dookie.

Also, don't play without friends, dem giant mosquitoes and diloposauraus will eat your face

I haven't played since a week or 2 after launch but when I did it ran like crap on my PC. I have an i7 4790K, 16GB RAM and an AMD 390X with 8GB VRAM.

might try forcing it to dx10, launch it with -sm4. Also setting everything to low is ok but the important stuff is the shadowing and check boxes, make sure all of that is off. It does still need alot of optimization though, on my 970 I can now average 60-80fps on dx11 and thats with ultra textures and medium-high on most settings but still gotta leave all the check boxes off. I think titans also still run about the same as 970s so that shows you they are doing something very wrong somewhere

They have improved it greatly since launch though, when it started I was doing ~20-25fps, so at least its more than double that now

Why would you assume I haven't? You couldn't pay me to slog through 4+5 again; I've never read anything so badly in need of competent editing. GRRM needs to be a little less ruthless with his characters and more so with his timetable and attachment to his world. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of complaints about the show too...but the fact is that after all this time I'm invested and I miss the world when there's nothing new out. Although based on some of the reviews of this game I'm wondering if it's not just going to be ten hours of torture porn, for which I have zero desire.

So I've heard, though I never read them. Or watched the show actually.

Obviously I know that the books have been around a long while but have they done the annoying thing yet where all the new printings have the faces of the TV show actors? I remember once upon a time not being able to find a copy of I, Robot without Will Smith's mug staring at me or, before that, a copy of The Stand without Molly Ringwald amd Gary Sinise on the cover.

Edit: Wait, The Stand with Gary Sinise? I haven't seen a book with his face in the cover. Ever. And I've never seen any GoT books with photos of the TV actors but I wouldn't be surprised if they exist.
