:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

So is there some reason that Steam can sell games for $5 digitally, but Sony cannot have sales on old PS3 game prices to $5 during sales? I would love to grab Portal 2, the Ninja Gaiden's, and other older games for cheap. Is Sony hurting that much that they cannot have good cheap older games during sales?

The Ninja Gaiden games were just on sale last week. There's nothing keeping publishers from putting games on sale for next to nothing except for themselves. Portal 2 would be up to Valve, Ninja Gaiden is up to Koei Tecmo, and the same goes for the rest of them.

Neither Steam nor Sony determine the prices of those games, let alone the sale prices.

Got a msg on my PS4 dashboard from Sony giving the 10% PSN store code for buying two indie games last month (Journey, Rapture).  Not sure when it expires though.

Anyone else hate when games feel the need to use alternative controls just for the sake of being different? I mean why the hell do I need to use the left and right triggers just to climb in Grow Home?

And why the hell was this picked for PS+? Ughhhh..

That was a part of the Play 2015 promotion. If you purchased any 2 of the following: Journey, N++, Galax-Z or Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture you got a 10% off code.

*Coupon code will be delivered via email, XMB message (PS3), and system message (PS4/PS Vita) on 9/1/15. Redemption period ends 9/30/15, 11:59PM PT.

Because you failed to convince enough people to vote for something else.

Because you need that kind of flexibility to the climbing controls. I'm not sure what's terrible about that.

I would assume because licensing one character would be easier than licensing all of them?
Deadpool actually has a good number of X-Men characters in the game. I think it's more that one is Activision(who's decided to renew) and the other is Capcom(who hasn't, so far). Could be wrong though.

That aqua blue Vita is sexy but I wish they'd make a US version of Sapphire Blue, I want that one so bad but I just can't justify dropping an additional ~$130 to import the Sapphire. I'm already planning on getting a Vita soon for P4:DAN, Oreshika and a few other exclusives but I'm not really sure whether to get the slim or not. I've heard the OLED screen from the initial release is way better than the LCD (aside from sun glare so it wouldn't be ideal for commuting and such.) Seeing as I'm ridiculously frugal and like the better battery, I'll probably just grab the slim but I was wondering what people's experiences were with the OLED vs LCD. (I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death, unfortunately I haven't seen too much discussion on it outside of the Vita subreddit, so I apologize if this is a redundant question.)
Some people claim that there isn't really a difference between the OLED and LCD screen. These must be friggin blind. Theres a huge difference. Especially if you used the OLED for a while then tried going to the LCD. OLED uses a wide color space and is far more vibrant than the newer LCD. If you play a lot of colorful games like Rayman or JRPGs and stuff like that the OLEDs the way to go for sure. Newer one does have a better battery life i believe, its lighter and has more internal ram. Which is nice. But it also feels a lot flimsier and cheaper in your hand. I personally have the white OLED model (and a couple sealed ones as backups) and wouldn't switch over to the LCD at all. I was thinking of geting that new aqua blue one just because its pretty but i dont think its worth $200. I compared them back to back when i bought my niece an LCD vita and immediately noticed the difference.

More details on features in PS4 FW 3.00 like bumping up the PS+ Cloud Storage to 10GB, Youtube streaming, favorites on your friends list, communities, and some other cool stuff.
how the heck does cloud storage work. I used it for the first time on PS3 recently and it doesn't let you even re-dload the stupid game saves for over 24 hours. Which makes it pretty damn worthless in my book

And it's very possible that Marvel may have given them better terms than before if they wanted it out to promote the movie.

Is the ps3 yakuza 5 theme tooken down?
I was wondering the same thing. I preordered the game yesterday and it does show a download option on the webstore page for the game with a rediculously small download size... so I wonder if that's how I download it. I haven't checked my PS3 to see if it's in the purchase history on the store there.

Whatever the case I'm looking forward to the game quite a bit now that I've researched it a little more. I like that they are including all the DLC and that you can play a few real arcade games like Virtua Fighter 2 and that drum game with some online stuff. This aught to tie me over until Shenmue 3 comes out.

EDIT:

Also of note, Sony Rewards has some Vita memory cards and other goodies in stock. I opted to just redeem for PSN credit (had enough for another $10 ... :) ).... but 7999 points will get you a 32gig Vita card. Not bad if you've been saving points for a while and can essentially get it free. Still that's vs $80 in psn credit for the same points... so not a "bargain" but still a nice reward.

I just find it strange that Activision only got 1 of their 4 or 5 Spiderman games back up for sale digitally. Granted Shattered Dimensions is regarded as the best one but no Web of Shadows, Edge of Time, or Friend of Foe seems odd to me. I'm guessing the movie rights would make the Spiderman 3 game not available no matter what.

Well I took advantage and got Shattered Dimensions for $15 while I could, forgot to get it last year (already had Web of Shadows from a previous sale) before everything was removed. Not paying $40 for a scratched up GS copy of SD or $100 for a good quality copy off Amazon.

Weird that the PS3 disc price of SD is nowhere near what the 360 price is. Was it Bayonetta bad of a port?

Nope, I played it about 8 months ago and it worked fine on PS3. Maybe it was produced in lower quantities for the Xbox 360 or because the 360 was the more dominant system last gen more people purchased it leaving fewer 360 copies in circulation.

PS3 Shattered Dimension Review

Let's go back to separating the PS+ deals from the real deals, kthx. It's just depressing when those niche games get a sale and it's in sarcasm yellow.

I could have sworn I bought Foul Play on Xbox 360 one of the times last year it was on sale for under $5, but it looks like I was wrong. I know I at least came very close to buying it. I'll get it now on PS4, even better.

I actually prefer the LCD screen to the OLED.
Agreed. I researched this a lot back when I was in the market for a Vita, and what put me over the edge was an image that compared screenshots of Rayman from both the 1000 and 2000 against a direct feed image. For some reason I can't find it anymore on Google after an hour of searching, but there was no question which one was more natural.

I really don't prefer either screen. What pulled me towards a Vita 2000 was it felt better in my hand. The 1000 cramped my hands much worse.

But the biggest thing was being able to charge with micro USB because I got tons of those things. I hate having to keep up with proprietary chargers.

Some details on Megadimension Neptunia VII that is coming to PS4 in early 2016:

About Megadimension Neptunia VII
G.C. 2015 - Gamindustri has entered a precarious season known as the CPU Shift Period. During this time of social unrest, deprecating rumors about the CPUs have begun to saturate Gamindustri. Neptune and the others worry the citizens will soon call for new leaders to replace the them and that their rule will end.

In these critical moments for Planeptune, Neptune and Nepgear mysteriously disappear. Their destination: a divergent world, nearing its catastrophic end, called the Zero Dimension. They encounter the last remaining CPU of this world, Uzume Tennouboshi, who is desperately waging a lonely battle against a colossal evil known as the Dark CPU.

Will Neptune and Nepgear be able to work together with Uzume in order to save Zero Dimension from tragedy? So begins a new adventure for Neptune...

Key Features
  • New Battle Features Characters can link up for stronger attacks, "Parts Break" allows you to split enemies into pieces to lower their stats and disable special attacks, and "Giant Battles" impose limits that will challenge the strategist in you!
  • NEXT mode A second transformation is now available! You can break those big baddies into bits with NEXT mode, which features new special skills and a new costume for the CPUs!
  • Three Worlds, Three Stories Three different story modes! With new CPUs and characters at your side, you must fight through three dimensions to save Gamindustri!
  • New Dungeon Minigame! An homage to the classic "Spelunker," you receive special items when you clear this dungeon under the time limit!

Just a PSA if you decide to do the firmware beta vita remote play will not work. At least that's what I've heard.

So if you use remote play you may want to wait for the official release

You can always downgrade back to current firmware.

Not sure if you can then go back to the beta after though.

Sorry to post this here, but what happened to being able to e-mail Sony tech support?

I have 3 systems activated on my account under "game".  I don't see how this is possible, because I only have a PS3 and a PS Vita.  And when I go to my download list to download something, it gives me the option to download it to "both Vitas".  I only have one!

What's the deal?  My only option is to "deactivate all," which I can apparently only do once per year.

And clicking "contact us" just leads to a multitude of useless support articles.
