Best Buy has a $32 base TIV for Mad Max (and Phantom Pain, but who plans on trading that in?) and a 30% bonus this week that would make it $44.80 after bonuses.

...I think I'll just trade in my $20 (factoring in the $10 cert) copy and pick it up for cheap later on after all the bugs have been patched. I have enough to play as it is.
Cool, I'd like to get the main story wrapped up by Saturday.

Yeah Mad Max is pretty good. Combat is basically just Australian Batman. Driving works well enough, world is a bit big. There's a lot of fast travel points, but there's still a decent amount of mindless driving. I actually don't think the game looks all that great at all. It performs admirably, but like Pharm said, don't look at the textures. And load times are really long when you die. And it's a gigantic collectathon if you are trying to get 100%.

And I'm a lot farther than both Kilik and Wren so I don't suck.
So you didnt get the glitch then?

CrunchChewy, jkam any updates on your PSN credit? My card is out for delivery via UPS.
Status still says "in review" which is lame. Maybe I'll have it by my Birthday in Dec. At least Sony did send that $25 Vita check, nice to get some cold hard cash #realmath.

So any of you cool literate cats read Armada yet?  It's second novel from the Ready Player One dude.

I just finished it and enjoyed it.

I looked yesterday and didn't see it listed on their site yet. GS was giving a bit under $30 for it.

I played through Act 2 of Foul Play last night. I'm really digging the game. The two boss fights have been a little irritating because the adds that are in both are the kind that try to avoid your attack; can make it difficult to build your audience meter before it gets drained by the boss or an add getting in a cheap shot. Also, every time I get close to the 100x combo I get hit by a cheap shot.
The boss fights are tougher to keep things going, they all seem to have unparryable attacks and lag between when you finish their last minion and when they call new ones in. So you're bound to drop it. You can always change your charms around to avoid the meter drainage when you get hit - a couple of the early ones help with that.

Once you have the flurry you'll have the parry+flurry on repeat and those 100x combos will come up all the time. 200x is a little trickier but there's much better places to do it in the 3rd and 4th play. That's also the case with all of the 'Do X thing Y times' trophies - I put more effort than I should've in to them early on when there's more tailor made levels later. Except for the Heads Up one, you have to just make your own setups for that (about 10 feet from the edge of the screen facing it parry+flurry - after the last hit it'll do a wall bounce. parry in mid air for the Heads Up bonus and do it again if you can).

there's a guy that's outrunning me on psnp for the plat so I started catching up on the challenges and stars this morning. It'd be fun to at least be first on tt which is basically the same as being first in the psnot thread right now. I like this game! I was glad to see that I'm at least a week away from getting mad max or mgs5 from the library since foul play is now officially consuming my life.

Tried deleting mad max and not installing the current updates to see if maybe the updates broke the mission im on, didnt get a chance to try it again this morning as game was still installing when I had to leave.

If that doesnt fix it, I doubt I take the time to replay that 8 hours ive already played and just trade it back in and maybe pick it up again when its 20 or less in a few months.

Havent had a game breaking bug hit me in a long time so really pissing me off, but oh well.
This is what you get for bailing on Borderlands TPS. From your description of the game and a few others I am glad I didn't bother. Maybe for $20 before GCU and after some patches I would give it a try.

I have gotten I think one or two story Chapter further in my TVH playthrough then we did in the normal playthrough. I also have one of the chapters close to the end completed as well. They enemies difficulty has finally got too high. They are 41-42 and I am only 37. Guess I will have to level up some again and push on.

I would play with randoms but a truck took out the fiber cable on our block. So no real internet yesterday or this morning. I did wifi tether to my phone to cross save my character and sync trophies. Got the stupid one for opening 10 of those stupid chests. Tried to get the one for killing an enemy after using all 4 environmental effects on him but couldn't get it.

Wait, is it "past" or "passed"?

In this sentence. "I beat that a long time ago, I'm way past/passed that"
I am going to go with past.

I am past that section.

Or I passed that section last week.

But I hated Engrish in HS and it was my worst subject so what do I know?

Pharm-

I think the glitch came from not having enough scrap to just go ahead and put on the last piece for the Jack. You need 100 scrap for it and 500 for the other part of the mission. To be safe, id make sure you have 600+ scrap before doing any of Wasteland Classic which is the name of the mission. You'll go to a new area like Jeet (assuming youve been to jeet) and when there just get the wire for chumbucket and buy the bar deal right away, I had to go collect scrap and I think that messed mine up or something

I've slowed down on Spelunky again but...I made it to the City Of Gold last night, but my Hell run still eludes me. The first time I played this I was just trying to get through the game with shortcuts and all so I could finish it. This time I'm more calculated. I got the Ironman trophy and now the City Of Gold. I think the difference now is I can actually make solid runs with some decent consistency where as before I'd just run in all willy nilly hoping for the best.  I think I'll do a run or 2 a day until I finish Hell.

I really want to go for 100% but I'm not as sure about the Speedlunky and the 500,000 Gold trophy. In any event I've gotten a crazy amount of time and fun out of this game. I don't remember exactly what I paid (got it before plus) but it's definitely been worth about 1000 dollars in retrospect.

Or rather then not sucking you do suck because you don't have a life and have the time to put into the game.... =P~

Wonder if your credit card is balking at some random small charge from Sony? I used a $5 rewards cert and BB gift card to pay the balance.

I know for a while lots of credit card companies would hold up small charges to Apple since many people who were using a stolen credit card would buy a cheap app or two to see if the card worked before running up the charges.

As a fine upstanding southern gentlemen (ie redneck) myself I say will say "passed" when speaking of passing a car on the road etc.  Which is what I mean to say of course.  But it actually sounds like I am saying "past" and that would bother my wife because she thinks I am saying it wrong.  Which I guess I am pronouncing it wrong but its just easier that way.

Another great southern thing (or so she says its southern) is when answering the phone we have a tendency to say "where ya at".   Yankees think thats funny.

No matter how hard I try to find something that interests me, I'm completely underwhelmed by the target mass vita clearance.. vita has no games confirmed. Target could have at least invested in a few good rpgs...
I'm in the same boat, but things will start looking more appealing after the next round of drops. Once things start getting in to the $4-$6 range I'll definitely be buying underwhelming things that I'm not interested in.

Zimm, I got an alert on my phone from cartwheel that said "Dont (sic) miss out on the savings! Skylanders Trap Team Starter Pack expires in 2 days!" despite the fact that I already used the deal.  FIX IT.

Cool, the game just keeps getting more and more accessible as you keep playing it. First it seems that beating it all in one run is impossible, then it seems that getting to hell is impossible, then it seems like beating the game in 8 mins is impossible. But it all becomes more and more attainable as you keep playing, it's really cool.

500,000 gold was hard for me when I got it, but looking back it is really not difficult at all once you start doing high score runs. Properly placed vaults (ghosted) and a good amount of bombs and you can have $500k by the time you complete the ice levels. Speedlunky does take a lot of work. My biggest problem was that I was going TOO fast and dying early when I didn't even need to. When going for that, I'd recommend going as fast as you can WHILE your main focus is to stay alive. See if you can beat it in 12 mins, 10 mins, etc. Doing it that way, 8 mins will feel far more accessible. If you just rush and rush and rush you'll die a million times, not realizing that you're basically on pace for a 6 minute run.

My library has this cool new feature where they loan out books for me to read. It's pretty radical. That's where I got my free copy to read.
I haven't been to the library around here. I could be sitting on a video game and book goldmine and not even know it.

Yeah I think that's right based on googling it. I guess passed is only used as a past-tense verb. But I was confused.

"I passed that part last night"

"I am way past that part"
In the past I passed on going dancing, but now I enjoy it.

Aaron Rogers threw me a pass, but I ran past it.

She passed me the salt. In the past she wouldn't even look at me.

I got the same one and I had redeemed it as well. Bunch of no good rotten so and sos.

I fixed it by turning off notifications. They were annoying and useless for that app. I always find out here if there is anything I would give a shit about anyway.

I think I have that same progress bug in Mad Max actually. I'll try to fiddle around with it some during lunch to see if I can get past it.
you have the same issue? Went to gutrash or whatever and did the wire and all the other requirements for that mission minus putting on the bars, and it wont let you put on the bars?

Hopefully you figure something out, like i said earlier I deleted game and was gonna try and do it again without the patches installed as the one patch 1.01 stated it did something with the mission log so thought maybe they messed it up with that. Didnt have a chance to try it without the patch yet though

I don't know what gutrash is? But I got wire, I got the car body, the bars are the only thing that I still need for the Jack and when I try to install them, it says I need to do a mission first, but I couldn't figure out what to do next in the mission. So I've just been doing side stuff. Maybe I'm not actually at the glitch yet?

Ready Player One was really good. I hear that new novel isn't so hot in comparison, but maybe is still fun if unoriginal. I mean to read it at some point. There's going to be a Ready Player One movie and I'm both excited for it and fearful of it.

Dear Topside and Crazy and whoever else?

[Fallout Monopoly]
Still playing Fallout Shelter, though not as often. By the time you're at 50-60 dwellers the lunch boxes start to lose some of their luster. Every lunchbox you can unlock through tasks can have a random assortment of 4 items: loot (special dwellers, weapons, outfits), consumable commodities (power, water, food) or currency; represented by playing cards. Each lunchbox is guaranteed to have at least 1 rare blue item, but as of late this has increasingly been a blue currency card (500 caps). A periodic 500 cap card was a great help at the beginning of the game. but at this point 500 caps is chump change (I'm at 30K caps).

Yeah I would say Ready Player One is the better novel. And I can see why some people may not like Armada. The writing doesn't seem as sharp. But it's still a very enjoyable read. Not that long either.

Pretty sure Armada already has the film rights sold as well, so that should be interesting to see when it appears.

Well this is already starting out as a weird day. A friend got an appointment with a doctor yesterday and by 5pm was in the OR to get one of his boys removed because of a growth it had on it. He seems to be in good spirits, but that had to have been one crazy day and I am sure he is worried about upcoming test results.

Bad shit always seems to happen to good people.
That sucks Gator and I hope everything works out for him. Nothing worse than going to sleep healthy and walking up where life is never the same again. I'll send some PMA to GA.

Yeah it does feel more accessible as you play more for sure. That makes sense with the ghosted gems...I'll have to consider that when going for $500,000. For Speedlunky I've been trying my luck with the teleporter, basically whenever it comes up early in a run I use it and try to get through the levels asap. I've gotten slightly better with it. I have a feeling a teleporter with a compass is the ultimate combo. I'm screwing up less with it but one faulty move ruins an otherwise good run.

I'm definitely really going for a hell run first though now...I'll go for the others once that's done and take it from there. I didn't really mess too much with the hidden levels either so I will need to finish those up as well for the 100% journal trophy and hidden characters. The game just keeps on giving. :)

Ok, maybe I didn't have the bug? Did it actually tell you to drive to gutgash's fortress? Because it hadn't told me that, it just seemed stuck on the mission objective use the garage to do the upgrades. I already had some stuff that was better than the Jack, so I was using that. I changed all parts to the parts the jack required (except for the bars, which I still couldn't get), then it told me to go to gutgash's. It told me to grab some wire there. Then it said the last upgrade for the jack is now available and I was able to get the bars no problem.

Kilik, since you've been playing so long, you might have your car overpowered. Just try putting everything but the bars to what the jack wants and see if it'll let you progress.
