TLOU didn't live up to the hype for me, but I enjoyed it enough. It picked up a bit for me after the first few hours. I've already expressed my thoughts on the ending, I didn't like it.

I am the only person in my warehouse of an office building. There's about a 0% chance I get anything done today. I wish I could have brought my PS4...

You guys realize there is a glitch that allows grounded to be much easier... but it's still a grind.  What you end up doing is 2 easy play throughs to load up on gear and get new game plus trophy.  Then for some odd reason it allows you to play backwards through the game chapter by chapter and it counts.  So you play through it backwards and after each chapter you revert back to your starting amount of gear because the game only makes you lose the gear you used if you go forward.  Kinda weird and still a grind, but Grounded isn't the end all be all using this method.

Also I got past the part everyone was saying glitched on them in Mad max?  I built my first full Archangel load out for my car and the Bars went on fine.  Car is much better and I have yet to die once!  =P~

My Sony Rewards $10 PSN money code order via Sony Rewards is still in Review. I just sent them a message about it, but of course it says they'll reply within 48 hours. It's got to take at least 2 days for anything to happen.

Yeah I liked tlou well enough and I think if you can make it through those first few hours it gets pretty good. But it's definitely stealthy/explorationy even on easy. I think it's a shame they're probably making a sequel, they should just let it stand on it's own.

fuck Sony. How sad I was able to mail order a card from Best Buy and get it sooner.

Other then some issue with the credit card charge not going through that is just plain crazy.

Drive Drive Drive coming to PS4 and Vita in 2016:

The gimmick is you have to drive on more than one track at the same time, switching between them. When you switch (bad) AI takes over driving the car you just switched from, so you have to keep switching back and forth. This could be entertaining, or super annoying.

Nah another 3 or 4 at least with the holiday weekend. Mine is still in review which is strange because the pending charge is on my credit card account. So silly Sony.

Okay so when a real cheap copy of TLOU falls into my lap and I have nothing else to play Ill get it and share my thoughts.
Just use that money to get Zombie Vikings instead and play with the 3 of us. You know you like beat 'em ups better than stealth.

So i put on my big boy pants last night and sucked it up and restarted mad max. Got through that fucking glitched mission with no problems.

To be safe you dont glitch if anyone plays it who aint already, make sure you have 600 scrap saved up before starting the mission.

Im off work today so playing it quite a bit more, prolly just gonna try and focus on the story as all the side stuff has already gotten very repetitious.

turning on streaming for anyone stuck at work and bored.

But $13 for that game? And how many levels did you guys do already?
I admit, it is a bit higher than I think it should be with the discount. We didn't do that many actually. I will play all those levels with you again if you decide to get it.

Is that a (fantastic-sounding) mix of Zombie Vikings and Mercenary Kings?
You must be pretty bored if you caught that in the less than a minute I had it wrong before editing.

There are some hilarious images coming from this Brady decision.

In what is I guess a growing trend, Laughing Jackal announced today that early next week they will announce a release date for Flame Over PS4. #AnnouncementAnnouncement

Looks like Stern Pinball is working with HBO to make a Game of Thrones pinball machine.  Guy that runs my pinball league already said they're going to get it for our league place.

I sometimes wonder if Sony has to give them a set of dates that they will allow them to release a game on. Otherwise, I just do not understand why this happens. Maybe it is just an attempt to create more buzz. They possibly thought they had to say something after tweeting that it had been approved. If so, why not just say, we are waiting for a release window from Sony and will announce the data ASAP.

It also reminds me of this Dilbert strip.

Derek, Garrus and Pancakes - No one has beat all challenges/plat yet in toy soldiers? that's crazy

also Derek and Pancakes - How you get the barrage and hero vehicle trophies, i just tried past few hours and no luck. damn thats a tough one, especially solo, even after watching a video. i get so close and then lose it all on the assault turn. How do you change 2nd player's hero locally. If I could do that I could try to get my son/wife to play as the dark lord and spam the weak troops and turrets. just tough with both as kaiser and it won't let me change her hero/team for some reason

You make me sick!

I'm late to the all TLOU talk but its still funny to read. I had a ridiculous amount of ammo by the end because I hoarded it the entire game waiting for some dire situation that never happened. Once I maxed the bow it was all I ever needed besides an occasional shiv. I've said it before but the game definitely loses something if you play on anything lower than Survivor. On Survivor and and above you have no see through walls ability so its all about your own situational awareness. Watching and listing and being patient. Its tense as fuck and an incredible experience. Thats what made the game for me, more so than the story. I constantly felt hopelessly fuck ed in every new infected area. The sections with people were reprieves.

And Vig is right that on Grounded theres no Hud. The enemies are 3x as strong (2x on Surivivor), less resources, and fewer checkpoints. Even I'm intimidated by Grounded. I might have tried it if I hadn't had to play through once just to unlock Survivor on PS3 (I believe its unlocked from the start on PS4) as I don't really ever have a desire to play through the story a third time. Everyone should play Survivor or above at least once though, its really how the game was meant to be played.

Ugh, I hate that statement so much. I will play a game the way I want to play it thanks. And if I dont like the game so be it.

But you make it sound like I could play it on easy, kill a bunch of things with guns and get to experience the game at least.

Did I miss a Stotch appearance? Please tell me he is actually posting again and not just liking posts that reference me!

Do you think he reads all the recent posts to find the ones that mention me or does Tyler call him up and say hey no one liked topsides post bashing velo, help us out with 'likes'. lol. like a creepy fat uncle. Speak up man, don't just sit there watching us! We all miss ya Buddy!

What I don't get is if Survivor is how "it was meant to be played", then why was it locked out at the start on PS3? They forced you to play it the way it was not meant to be first? Huh?

I also haven't played TLOU. jimbo gave me a code, but it's gonna take literally over 24 hours to download that big bitch with my connection, so I haven't messed with it yet.

You could play it on easy, but I don't believe the story is strong enough to carry the game alone on that difficulty. It will be boring as fuck. Thats what I mean when I say the game loses something on anything below Survivor. Theres really no risk or feeling of dread when you have superman x-ray vision. I would say just watch it on youtube, but there is a lot of banter between the characters that would be missed just watching cutscenes.

I started TLOU a while back but only for maybe an hour and then I set it aside and haven't gotten back to it. At this point I should start over probably.

pharm - you'll hate tlou. even on easy it's primarily a stealth game (and wandering simulator). it also takes an obscenely long time to get going - it feels like the first 3 hours or so your feet are in a tar pit until you get out of the first 'area'. I fall in to the camp of it being somewhat overrated, but it does do a really solid job with characters.

I also think the multiplayer is kinda fun but it does drag at the end if you're going for the tropheeeez.

Oh yeah, the trophies are also completely awful. You have to use a guide during the first run through or you'll end up with like one shitty trophy by the time you finish the game. and if you're anything like me after finishing the game there's no way you'll want to go through it again any time soon.
Pharm, buddy, pal! Don't listen to this guy! He thinks he knows you? He barely knows himself. He goes by Pete for reasons I feel we haven't even got to the bottom of yet.

With all the sub par shit we all play from time to time, you are going to pass on *this*?? If you are simmias and have to complete everything, then OK, maybe not for you. But if you know going in you aren't going for the plat, but rather want to experience the game, then I say go for it!

First of all, he is a Southern gentleman with a daughter and no wife in the picture. HELLO?! Sounds like someone's life story I know!

And the game will grab you in the first 10 minutes in ways not many games can. But then it drags for 1 chapter as it starts to set the stage for the rest of the game.

On easy mode, there is a slight amount of run and gun in certain areas, but the games sweet spot is stealth kills. Not stealth avoid, but stealth kills. Resources are scarce, so you can only run and gun so much.

And the first encounters with clickers are haunting. I don't play much horror, so maybe it affected me more than others.

Also, I realize you may not play past the easy mode, but it is amazing how much you have to alter your gameplay from Easy, Normal, Hard and Survivor. One strategy on Easy in an area has no chance on other difficulties.

Also, if I had to do it all over again, I would have mastered the brick and bottle throwing mechanic sooner. It makes things a lot easier. I went through my first two play throughs not using it much, but on Survivor, it was mandatory. I just couldn't proceed using my normal strategy. So I started using the bricks to their full potential and a whole new better strategy emerged.

If you could only pick 1 game to play this year and one game only, then OK, don't play this game. But come on, you are going to play what, 30 games this year? Probably more? You have to let a top tier game like TLOU be one you play. It may not be your cup of tea, but there is a chance there could be enough in the game that you like and before you know it you give it more than 1 play through just to see how it changes because you liked it that much.
