So I'm sure most of you won't get past (or passed?) the name, but Miley Cyrus just released a new free album. It's produced completely by Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips, so it is a psychedelic rock album with some pretty damn good stuff on it. Yea I said it, I'm listening to a Miley Cyrus album, screw it.

What I don't get is if Survivor is how "it was meant to be played", then why was it locked out at the start on PS3? They forced you to play it the way it was not meant to be first? Huh?

Accessibility for profit. They want as many people to be able to play it as possible.

What are you 6?

I'll check it out though.

Also, I'm finally out of the Amiibo game. Sold my entire collection of around 50 amiibo. Collecting them just hasn't been fun for a while, waaaay more trouble than its worth, and now I have money for a new roof rack with plenty left over.  :D/

I didnt like TLOU that much on PS3 but for some reason it seemed much better on PS4.  Granted, I haven't played on anything higher than Normal difficulty.

Did I miss a Stotch appearance? Please tell me he is actually posting again and not just liking posts that reference me!

Do you think he reads all the recent posts to find the ones that mention me or does Tyler call him up and say hey no one liked topsides post bashing velo, help us out with 'likes'. lol. like a creepy fat uncle. Speak up man, don't just sit there watching us! We all miss ya Buddy!
Serioulsy dude, just drop it. Like jimbo said earlier, for not wanting drama you bring it up out of the blue too much.

Just chill man :)

Pitchfork really seemed to like it:

"But on the whole Dead Petz is a borderline unlistenable slog through dorm-room poncho bullshit and blissfully ignorant acid koans ("Can’t you see, all the clouds are dying?"), delivered earnestly from an ex-child star seemingly unaware of how fundamentally inseparable her own privilege is from her "do whatever the fuck you want all of the time" ethos, and enabled by a 54 year old who should know better."

Those damn Frenchies:
Physical versions of One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 for the Vita? Damn the US. Looks like they also got some rally game.

The Flaming Lips did a Sgt Pepper cover album and had Miley Cyrus perform for a couple songs. Her voice is terrible.

You could play it on easy, but I don't believe the story is strong enough to carry the game alone on that difficulty. It will be boring as fuck. Thats what I mean when I say the game loses something on anything below Survivor. Theres really no risk or feeling of dread when you have superman x-ray vision. I would say just watch it on youtube, but there is a lot of banter between the characters that would be missed just watching cutscenes.
Agreed. I am by no means a fan of "stealth" games, but I ended up playing through TLOU 3 times on PS3, and the survivor run, albeit very frustrating at times, really made things very tense and added another element. To me the melee and stealth kills were much more fun that the shooting in the game anyway. Either way, it's worth a playthrough if you haven't done it yet. I have TLOU:R on PS4, but haven't opened it yet. That grounded playthrough really has me timid.

The Flaming Lips is a band I should like because that pink robots song is super awesome, but I listened to the album that's on and didn't like it at all.

She did a song on the Bob Dylan cover album that came out a few years ago that was actually sounded really good. Lot's of good ones on there, especially the Silversun Pickups cover of "Not Dark Yet".

Vita Muppets!
Are you interested in a physical copy for your collection? I ask because my friend recently imported it before he knew it was coming to US PSN. He might be interested in selling it after he plays it.

He also got 2 physical copies of the Looney Tunes game too in case you were interested in those too.

I sent him an IM asking if he would be interested in parting with them after he plays them.

If you want a more accessible Flaming Lips album give The Soft Bulletin a go. Still one of my favorite albums.

Well anyone can make Dylan sound better. Not that I have a problem with his voice but most do.

How much? I might be interested. Word. Vita!

I went to Target this morning to return an old Target-brand shelf my wife decided she didn't like at all and then used the GC on some Star Wars stuff for Force Friday.  It was free, right?

You definitely get the gold star of the day in thread! No beanie baby amiibos anymore! I'm in the process of selling mine now. Just unloaded Dark Pit, Palutena, and Pit. More to follow.

It's pretty funny as Im listening to it though. There's a bunch of trippy Flaming Lips sounding songs, than just random pop songs about fuck ing, and smoking weed thrown in the middle. The album is quite a mess, but still worth listening to for a handful of it.

I find a lot of the time, one step below the highest difficulty is the sweet spot in providing a stiff enough challenge that requires you to use all the tools in your tool box before it goes over the tipping point of becoming an annoying grind because the enemies have too much HP or you have too little HP.

And yes, a lot of the time developers lock out the higher difficulties so that gamers / reviewers don't start too high and then whine that the game is "too hard." Maybe to the devs the earlier difficulties are like training wheels on a bike. They make you start with training wheels to help prevent you from falling down and quitting. You are riding the bike but you aren't really riding the bike until you are balancing it under your own power.

I'm not looking for more accessible. I like Neutral Milk Hotel, for example. I just didn't think that album was any good. But I'll check The Soft Bulletin out.

I think Embryonic would be a pretty accessible one too. That may have been the first Lips album I listened to. Reminded me a lot of Pink Floyd. Got me wanting to listen to more of their stuff.

"Do you realize that everyone you know someday will die?"

Classic.

That's pretty much all I remember from Flaming Lips.

I am not even sure if he wants to sell them or not. I think he will, and if he does, I can post how much he wants for them then.
He said he is. He does not know when he will be getting them in since he says the tracking number he got is not currently working. He paid $40 a piece for each. He doesn't do PayPal, but would take $30 for an individual game or $50 for 2 in PSN credit. That would cover shipping as well.

Anyone can PM me if interested and I can pass along his info so we don't clog up the thread more.

Also, if I had to do it all over again, I would have mastered the brick and bottle throwing mechanic sooner. It makes things a lot easier. I went through my first two play throughs not using it much, but on Survivor, it was mandatory. I just couldn't proceed using my normal strategy. So I started using the bricks to their full potential and a whole new better strategy emerged.
What are you referring to here? Using them as distractions or something else I'm not aware of yet?

Improved graphics and 60fps. The game is really, really smooth and I'm sure it wouldn't feel near as good at 30fps.

Hah. Just like places that serve Thai food that automatically downgrade the heat for Americans. Nobody wants some fool to say "Make it as hot as you can!" and then have the guy puking everywhere when they do it.

Way too far behind to catch up. Was supposed to be off today, but my boss suckered me into working. I suckered him into giving me the weekend off, so it balances out.

Finally bought foul play this morning. I'll be on that later tonight. Going to wait on armello I think. I still have hand of fate waiting on me.

The new cinnamon French toast sandwiches at hardees/carls are the truth. I kept reaching back in my bag for more, but there was none.

Derek, Garrus and Pancakes - No one has beat all challenges/plat yet in toy soldiers? that's crazy

also Derek and Pancakes - How you get the barrage and hero vehicle trophies, i just tried past few hours and no luck. damn thats a tough one, especially solo, even after watching a video. i get so close and then lose it all on the assault turn. How do you change 2nd player's hero locally. If I could do that I could try to get my son/wife to play as the dark lord and spam the weak troops and turrets. just tough with both as kaiser and it won't let me change her hero/team for some reason
If you play as Kaiser, unlock the storm troopers. They give way more multiplier. Save for two rounds to get the max tier.

Referring to throwing a brick or bottle at an enemy to stun them, allowing you to run up and shiv them easily.

In normal and hard, I rarely if ever used it. Relying more on maneuvering around the enemy to kill them.

But on Hard mode, in the Pittsburgh Hotel is where I was forced to use it. Once I used it there and it was so much easier than I had initially thought, it made many encounters very simple. And was really a lightbulb moment thinking back to all the times I struggled in other areas where it would have been so simple to just stun them with the ample bricks and bottles laying around.

Yeah I would be. Let me know what he says, I appreciate it.

It's one thing if it was R2 D2, but I have zero idea who or what this droid will do in the movies. I just know that it will get pushed like crazy because merchandise sales.

I actually like that Miley Cyrus song "See You Again" because it sounds like "Sunglasses At Night". This was back when she wasn't sticking her tongue out at people.

Also ...

I haven't heard that, but she did another cover on SNL a while back of Paul Simon's "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover" which also sounds very good.

Certain voices for certain songs I suppose. I like "I Kissed A Girl" by Katy Perry but her version of "Yesterday" by The Beatles is terrible.

Up at Gamestop. EDIT: BB now too.

Yeah $150 seems a bit crazy. If it was $50 I'd get one for sure.

The standard sphero runs $130, no way that licensed one would be close to $50.

I read that as the movie gets closer to release, they're gonna send out upgrades for it that reveal more of its "personality" and give it more features. I thought that was kinda cool.
