All this talk of completing games and I just discovered that I'm almost to the end of omega quintet.  I caved in and bought some of the $1 dlc to overpower myself in lieu of grinding 300 levels because fuck that (although I think I'll have to do it anyways if I want the plat, but maybe I don't want the plat!)

Overall the game is not great and there's stupid difficulty spikes on the harder difficulty that seem completely unbalanced but it remains a real good jrpg mechanics-wise.

I also discovered you can use R2 to super skip through the crappy idol dialogue which definitely raised it from a 2/5 to a 3/5.

If your download list didn't get re-updated with all the plus titles for the date you re-subscribed it would be much easier to manage.

There's also a sense of irony that the page at account.sonyentertainment.com gives me a warning that it uses a weak form of encryption.

Not sure I'll have time this weekend but we should do some Toy Soldiers co-op at some point. Need to get back to that game.
Yeah man Derek and I got to the boss of the game last night and he just bum rushed us. But we did awesome beating 3 levels before that. We are finishing up the challenges so hit us up, altho see above, trophy is glitched anyway

Yo Mild,

When you cutting off the pinball scores?
They're cut off. Also, I think this'll be the last week since we had more people drop off and more and more sweet games are out that I imagine people want to spend time with. Maybe we'll do another round soon. Results probably on Tuesday or you can look at the spreadsheet.

This was also a shitty week in that it shows the inequity of the two table scoring system since mitch actually got first on whirlwind. I might go back and do the points per table thing and see how it comes out (I can't remember why I stopped, probably laziness). Might be the same, but I'd like to see it.

Top 3: chewy, cireone, zimm. derp. mitch nabbed first place for the normal humans, so mad respect.

Edit - using TrueScore(tm) technology, the standings end up pretty much the same sans handicap. More on Tuesday.

As someone who does software for a living, I understand the need for patches to correct bugs.  What I do not understand is you have a game like Brothers that was out forever and you make a port of it to a new console, how in the hell do you have a day 1 patch that is over 4GB in size.  I guess I should have assumed it would have one and started the process earlier, but it is definitely annoying.

4 GB to make sure you don't get that key glitch? Damn.

How big is the game to start? Maybe it isn't really a patch but a replacement? Apple used to do this with iOS. Any patch was basically a reinstall. I think starting with iOS 7 they were able to do delta updates. Just the stuff that is new vs replace everything.

3.8gb on PSN for the PS4 version.

I'd like the tournament to keep going. It's given me a reason to play these tables that I normally wouldn't.

The pairing of an older table with a more modern one is nice fit as well.

The tournament has been a blast and I just got my best score on White Water. Well congrats to the top players. I'm down to play a pinball arcade tournament any week. It's nice playing all these tables because it also gives time to work on the standard and wizard goals plus top 5 score trophies.

I just read this in a trophy guide regarding lag in a game: "Are you guys defragging your PS4's?  The PS4 needs to be defragged weekly depending on how much you download or use it. It get's rid of a lot of the lag."

Do any of you guys defrag weekly?

iv never defragged. how would you even do that?

also Toy Soldiers was pretty fun. I only started it thursday but hit it pretty hard last 2 days. Got all trophies but the glitched one (and the plat). Co op is a blast and my son and I knocked it out together mostly

Before re;birth, I picked up Hyperdimenion Neptunia at GS. They gave me the disc for mk 2, though. Right now the 1st game has a $9 TIV at BB. Wonder if they'd look close enough to notice the difference if I traded it in.  :whistle2:k

It's good to hear that people enjoy it still. Pinball Arcade is truly a modern marvel. We'll take a break though so it doesn't start feeling like a chore and start up series 3 in a while after the new game fervor dies down. I played enough pinball yesterday to make my eyes hurt so I could use a break.

I will try to do per table points with handicaps and see if that's the way to go (I vastly prefer the two tables per week thing). And then I won't screw with it so much next round.

Fun fact - 3 of the top 10 on truetrophies for PA vita are psnot folks.

p.s. I'm glad you joined in elder. The more the merrier for sure.

Fun Fact - Tons of Toy Soldiers and Foul Play trophy holders are psnot folks ;)

Dude I was so busy playing Deception/bf hardline/toy soldiers I forgot about CoD AW DLC. Last exo zombies, iv 100% so far, so gotta do this one too

also there is 0 reason to use any of your coins in toy soldiers. I got all the unlocks just by beating the campaign. They pretend it is like pvz gw where you need to 'buy' unlocks, but that isn't the case at all. By level 10 with every character I already had all turrets/weapons/units unlocked. Use your coins to buy unlocks directly, don't buy the toy boxes at all.

also anyone ever play Brutal Legend? They are both rts, but damn brutal legend and toy soldiers were pretty similar mp wise.

I never played the Brutal Legend MP. The game was a huge disappointment, though. Fantastic opening, started out lots of fun, but then it was super repetitious, had no variety to the gameplay, and the RTS sections were terrible.

You guys were right about Xeodrifter--it was a nice Metroidvania-lite to 100% within a day. I'll have to get the PS4 version's trophies while the game is still fresh in my mind.

I finally found a copy of Borderlands: TPS at a Best Buy for $7.99+tax with GCU. Now it'll probably be part of the Plus lineup for October or November, so you're welcome.

So if I go and get a price matched until dawn for $40 should I be able to finish it once fast enough to sell it for $40? Like 10 hours of gameplay or more for the story? I like the idea of playing it completely blind once but I'm starting to run in to spoilers.

I enjoyed playing in the tournament, and I'll definitely participate again. I probably wouldn't have ever played Pinball arcade if not for the tournament, but I'll keep playing it off and on as a change of pace, and to improve my skill.

Thanks for putting it together, Mild.

You are pretty much guaranteed to do something with Jack the Ripper in the new Ass Creed right?  I mean the last trailer I saw even shows the Whitechapel name on the sawmill. Thats a dead give away aint it?

yeah did you play the demo? the demo hustled us all. It made it seem like an awesome open world action adventure game. I think the demo had 0 rts elements. Then the real game came out and it was 95% rts, lol. I remember when I was rich (had less kids) I bought red faction guerilla, brutal legends and like uncharted 2 or something the same weekend for like $180. 60 each. wtf was i thinking

also the game (brutal legend) is terribly glitched. even more with the dlc i bought. If you get over 90% it glitches up and corrupts your save, lol. One of these days I will start back over and try to 100% it i guess
