Ah, my mistake. Must of missed the PSP version up there. I would of preferred that to the HD one I bought also since I have three other MGS titles on my vita. :/

It's a good thing they show lists on the PS Blog post now, as there are approximately a million items that are on sale and many of them would be impossible to know if it weren't for that list. I guess they don't list PS+ sales, so that could still be fucked. Let me know if I missed anything when I get the OP updated later tonight. It doesn't help that they list old stuff on the PS Blog post. This might be the least organized set of sales I've ever seen on the PS Store.

There are Rainbow Moon and Soldner-X sales for PS+ and PSN that last until 9/29 along with the Sound Shapes sale that lasts until 10/6. A bunch of Atlus' non-Persona PSP games are also on sale.

Is the Sly Collection (Vita) for $17.99 a good price or does it usually go lower?

And Frisky - thanks for all you do keeping this thread up to date!  :applause:

Has anyone ever had any luck getting Sony to honor their advertised prices?

When I load the PS Anniversary Sale advert on my PS3, it shows Syphon Filter to be free, but when I load

the game description it show it to be $2.99, which doesn't equal free.

I just finished dealing with their online support, which was a joke. I even uploaded a picture for them and all they kept saying was sorry, but they won't honor their pricing mistake. I asked for a policy where this was stated and they said they didn't have one.

I think you wasted more than $2.99 trying to get it free. Regardless of the principle.

Did you need it to exit the Lurk Void?
I had the free time and it was all about the principle. I just hope I wasted more than that of their tech's time, causing them to spend more on the support instance that on just doing what is right. But then again, its Sony we're talking about, right?

Yeah, I kinda did. It's been a while.

Can't tell if you're serious or not. Of course they're not going to honor an obvious price mistake like that. It didn't let you add to cart and check out because it's a mistake.

On the other hand, they have a really nice policy that if you take advantage of any pricing mistake or store mistake they'll let you keep what you get without banning you, unlike some other services.

The principle? The precedent behind 'bait & switch' advertising is that it's wrong for a store to advertise a fantastic price on one thing, then not actually have it in stock (or have very limited quantities) and try to upsell you on other things when you get there.

An online store accidentally posting the incorrect price in one place in the store, but -accurately- showing the price when you actually trying to add to cart or purchase, is clearly not the same thing. You didn't drive to the store, there was no intentional attempt to swindle... it was just a simple mistake that didn't cost you a thing.

I think you should rethink the 'principle'. I don't mind holding a company to the grinder when appropriate, but I'm not sure this is a case where you have a leg to stand on. I certainly don't agree that the 'right thing' for them to do in this case was give you a free game.

However, guess what? If the game was $60, but when you added it to cart it was $0, and you were able to buy it? Sony would have let you keep it. They're good like that. But expecting them to reduce the price to zero because of a simple display mistake is asking a bit much.

All those Snk games for only .60 cents. Any must haves? Gonna get Prehistoric Isle cause it looks ridiculous and probably both Capcom collections for my pstv. But I hate leaving all those Snk games out there.

Any I should snag at this price? Any I should stay far away from?

Right, but the only problem with that is that if they don't have a policy protecting themselves from mistakes such as this, it falls under the FTC guidelines of false advertisement of pricing. That mainly being the law AND principle of the matter. I.E. If a gas station advertises their gas at $0.25/gal and they have it, they are required to sell it at that stated price (or less if they so wish). They are allowed to limit the quantities, but to charge more than the advertised pricing is illegal.

Sixty cents isn't bad for those games, but the games at this price means you can't play 2-player if you have a friend over because they are minis. Ikari Warriors without a friend is a sin. Now, the Baseball Stars 2, Metal Slug, King of Fighters? Have at them.

Actually, there is case law that states just the opposite. A business is not legally required to sell at an offered (advertised) price. I don't really care to dig through my law textbooks to find it, so you can choose to take my word for it or not.

The blog claims the PS4 Metro Redux bundle should be $12.50 for PS+, but I'm still seeing $50.  I'd bite on it at that price.

Great sale this week.  In for a few:

Oh well. Just searched for the Capcom classics on pstv. Not available. And neither is prehistoric isle :(.
Are you referring to the Capcom collections? They're white on Frisky's list (meaning unknown) but I checked another list on the PS Vita Reviews site and supposedly they are compatible. A few of the minis, like Ikari Warriors, are as well.

Frisky -- love the work you do, but I think there's an issue with one of your tags for colors after Tekken 6 on your PSTV compatible list. For ease of reading, I've been looking up Minis and PS1 compatible games on other sites. Of course, it might be hard to find that missing slash or bracket.

This is something people like to bring up but is actually not true.

I'm probably stating the obvious, but hopefully the people buying FF XIV: ARR on sale know that it's an MMO with a monthly subscription fee?

The Capcom Collections ARE compatible on the Vita, not sure about PSTV. I have them on my Vita right now, probably my two most played games on it. I've even gone through that stupid slot machine on the second to unlock all the cheats - man that part is annoying, especially when I already did it once on the PSP but didn't have the save file.

Right at the top of that list:

"Note: If you see BB code text instead of colors, click on the edit button to see the latter half of the list as intended since CAG doesn't like long, colored posts like this."

Me too!

Alpha Mission 1 and 2 look like lots of fun and it's only $2.40 for the pair.

What's the deal with the King of Fighters series?  How does it compare to Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat?  Are certain ones better than others?

Kuni for $6 is an absolute ridiculous steal. If you for some reason have been waiting until now to buy it you need to buy right now. It is absolutely incredible, and one of the finest video game experiences I have ever had.

You would probably have to sideload them by downloading them to a PS3 and then transferring them to the Vita TV. If I think of it I'll try that later this evening.

Wonder if that's what it takes for Vanguard as well. Wanted to relive childhood memories and, alas, can't direct download to the PSTV.

The PSP version of peace walker will work on Vita. The HD port will not. None of them work with PS TV.

They're both on sale. The HD version is the PS3 version, so it obviously wouldn't work on any Vita form.

Both versions are on sale
Thanks everyone. I'm fairly new to the Vita (Prime Day) and haven't cracked open the PSTV just yet (Sony online store closing). Wanted to make sure I was reading those lists correctly.

Was at first kicking myself for picking up the HD collection cart, but just realized it was only the 3rd listed for 2 different systems, not both for Vita. Guess that's better anyway, save that valuable memory card space.

Now, Peacewalker.... think I may have to bite on that. Pretty sure I have it floating around on UMD for my PSP, but the couple batteries I have for it are TOAST. If I could even find them after moving last year. Don't know that I'd go back to the PSP even if I did.

Is that a solid price for Peacewalker, or has it been lower?

Edit: Sorry, for clarification, referring to Peacewalker on PSP/Vita for the PS+ $6 price

Ya, both Capcom Collections work on PSTV if you transfer them from a PS3. They both booted up and I loaded 1 game on each and it worked fine.

KOF is a classic series in it's own right with a dedicated legion of fans and competition play. If you want to dip a toe in the water, and assuming it's on sale, start with '98. It's undisputed as one of the series's best.

Edit: I see it isn't. Try '95. It's also considered a highlight.

If you want Peace Walker, MGS3, and MGS2 all on PS3, you may want to consider just going for a used MGS HD Collection for cheaper. Still, $10 is about what I would consider average for PW. I think I got it physical for that price ages ago.

Not sure if directed at me, or just a general statement. If towards me, sorry, was referring to the PSP/Vita version at the PS+ $6 price.

I've had the HD Collection for PS3, but no longer have a PS3 that will play that disc, since I traded it in for a PS4. Probably one of the hardest parts about upgrading :???:

Yeah i'm only interested in getting them on Vita.. I still have a PS3, but I rarely turn it on.. Vita and PS4 get all my playtime.

Kind of salty I bit on Psychonauts for $5 just in the past seven days. It's not a huge difference but it'd be enough to cover another game or two with this sale. Oh well...

I'll probably end up biting on the PoP trilogy and Toomba. I've already got most of the other stuff that interests me in previous sales.

Anyone got any thoughts on Dead Space that may sway me one way or another?

Others have already commented on the 'legality' side of it, but my point is much simpler --

If a store misprints a price in a sunday flier and you drive all the way out to the store, it's understandable that you might try to get the product at the price listed. There is, in fact, value in this since if a store could get away with intentionally misprinting a price then crying 'misprint' and not honoring it in order to get people into the store, that would be the textbook definition of 'bait & switch'. However, even if it's a legitimate misprint it makes sense for a brick and mortar store to honor the price mistake on an item for goodwill and to keep you buying at the store.

A temporary mistake on a web page simply isn't the same thing. You didn't drive 10 miles out of your way because it was listed incorrectly. You simply clicked once onto the game's main page, and instantly realized the other price was incorrect.

Those are two very different situations in my opinion, and while I think you'd have a case with the first due to gas & time, I have a hard time siding with you on the second. Calling in and trying to get Sony to price match a mistake like that is just wasting everybody's time over a clear, obvious, unintentional, non-harmful mistake.

Top 5 Recommendations?

I'm on PS4/Vita/PSTV

I can borrow my roommate's PS3 if need be.
I dunno. I just got the Playstation Store working and downloaded nearly a dozen games myself.

I CAN tell you that Capcom vs SNK 2 is a must, if your roommate doesn't mind losing his PS3 for a while. Great game, one of the all-time best versus fighters. The two Capcom collections I already own in disc form, but I double-dipped anyway because I want them on my Vita as well. (You'll need to borrow that PS3 again to do that.) King of Fighters '96 is a (slightly outdated) gem, probably the first truly excellent game in that series.
