I found myself on the first page and saw a snakey post, so I clicked his trophy card to see what he's been playing. It looks like he's still playing a game for 10 minutes and then moving on.

Day 1 for me <shrug>

And you had my least favorite fantasy bad break this week - scored the second most points, but matched up against the one guy who could beat you.
At the time of my baseball playoffs, I was leading the league in 3 categories, was second in 2 others, third in 2 others, fifth in 1, and seventh in 2.

Standing?

8th place.

got therm his minecraft voucher and noticed that it redeems the vita and ps3 versions AND you can 'upgrade' to the ps4 version for $5.  So potentially if you get it from target for $6 you could get all three versions for $11.

skip on the tearaway remake if I played the vita version?  sounds like it's been more irritating than good in terms of changes and I'm not wild about being irritated.

I was enjoying it until the last real level where it went all in with the stupid tilt bull shit. It is mostly more of the same from the Vita version minus rear touch. The collectibles are harder to find just because there is no guide yet.

I'd say if you really liked the Vita version and are not concerned about getting the plat it is worth it. If you were annoyed by some of the gimmicks before, stay away.

finished re rev 2.  I'll probably try to finish the last few checkpoint farming trophies that I have and never look back.

post mortem: (spoilered for large, probably not for plot but no promises)

this game isn't great.  it's fun enough, but it's just not very good.  there's not much variety in terms of enemies/weapons/things to do/environment, the controls and animation and textures are all a little janky and sometimes a bit unpredictable (e.g. most of the time there's an invisible wall preventing you from walking off a platform to your death.  but not always).

it's not strange that the game is designed around coop and would probably be more fun that way.  the weird thing is that the game also feels designed around playing the same chapters over and over again.  it's not required by any stretch, but between the in-game goals and trophies and the few strange 'if Claire does this it affects Barry's level like that' quirks it certainly seems like they're trying to motivate you.

the plot is funny standard issue resident evil stuff.  there were a couple genuine surprises that I enjoyed and the ending implies that it's leading in to another game, although maybe someone familiar with RE lore can explain it better.

I will say the difficulty levels are really above board - casual was super easy in a fun way, I switched to normal for the last chapter and it wasn't horribly challenging but I was pretty much out of ammo by the end of the game.  you can change your difficulty for any chapter to anything you like and carry your inventory with you (so I think if you want you can play on casual for three chapters, hoard ammo, and then head in to the highest difficulty on chapter 4).  there's no difficulty trophies at all so you can just do whatever you want.

the other campaign game modes - countdown (beat the chapter within a set time limit) and invisible mode (all enemies are invisible) - are horseshit.  I'm sure that I could get through them if I wanted to put in the time, but you basically need to be pretty familiar with the levels in both cases and just run as much as you can and hope nothing grabs you.  they also default to the higher (highest?) difficulty, not that it matters after chapter 2 since the things that'll probably catch you will be mostly one hit kill monsters anyways.

raid mode is fun, I never played re rev 1 so I hadn't seen it before.  it's pretty tame compared to mercenaries mode in the main games but it was a nice diversion.  and playing as wesker was a fun bonus.

anyhoo, definitely worth a play through if you get a chance but don't expect it to change your life.

And more importantly, that's 3 separate trophy lists.
Yep, and it's cross-save between PS3/PSV, and one-way cross save from either to PS4.

There's no auto-pop like Sound Shapes, but once you've earned the plat on one system you can transfer that world to the other two systems and use the world you already created to quickly get the plat on the other two as well, from what I'm reading.

Have you guys/gals played any of these?

20 Severely Underrated Video Games from the 2000s:

I always wanted to play The Punisher but never got around to it.

Manhunt was pretty good.

Not sure how I missed that Scarface game.

Missed Syphon Filter Dark Mirror too. Damn

The Darkness was okay. It was one of the first PS3 games I played so it looked fantastic but if it werent a near launch title it wouldnt have been considered more than average.

War of the Monsters and Prince of Persia are bla.

The Warriors was a real fun beat em up that I would like to see be remade or have a sequel.

jfc, quit therming up the thread. Even The Stand was abridged.

Just Scarface and PoP 2008 which both definitely belong on the list. I am not sure why KOTOR is on there. It seems to get a lot of praise.
Obsidian's games tend to get a lot of praise for their writing (e.g., KOTOR II, FO:NV) but a lot of flak for the not-nearly-as-good technical aspects which usually result in bugs/glitches.

I'm taking my PS4 to our pinball league end o' season party this weekend and I'm not sure how to set it up in that situation. Can I great Guest login accounts and can they play online (mostly thinking Rocket League here), at least if a PSN account is also playing? There's no Guest option that I can see at the login screen. I could create 4 guest accounts, but not sure I want to set them up as full fledged PSN accounts, but I guess if I have to do that I'll do that.

So I went into the convenience store in my building this morning like I usually do. Grabbed my energy drink like normal. Grabbed my donut like normal. Walked over to get in the elevator.

Then I realized, I never paid for any of this shit. I stood there frozen for a few seconds, then moseyed back to the store and walked up to the counter to pay for my shit. No one was the wiser.

Finished up the story for Foul Play yesterday. Game is hella fun. Only have to go back through for stars and charms and I'll have the plat. Hoping to finish that up tonight while doing laundry and pretending I'm going to wax my car.

I have never even pretended to wax a car. And I'm hard pressed to even remember the last time I took my car through an automatic car wash, let alone did any scrubbing. I have done both, but it's been a long time. I figure the film of grime on the car helps protect the paint. Right?

KOTOR 2 they had 15 months on and there were publisher shenanigans. The game was looking great, there was an agreement to add more content and push back the release date, then the publisher decided to revert back to the original date and Obsidian had to scramble to pull out the partially-finished content. With that in mind a buggy release isn't a surprise.

It also gets into what happened with New Vegas and how afterwards they completely revamped their approach to development tracking and testing to quit being so buggy.

Ok, found out the "Guest" login on PS4 is hidden under New User. A little weird, but at least it's there. Not entirely clear on if they can play online, though, or if they need a PSN account of their own to do that.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that Obsidian tends to be rushed to finish their games, so it's not really their fault that they launch with technical issues.

if I remember right you have to have one account with ps+ logged in and playing, the remaining guests should be able to play in the same game as the proper account. I messed around with this for something (helldivers maybe?) and I think that's where I landed but I'm not 100%.

Only KOTOR 2, TimeSplitters, and From Russia With Love for me off that list but I enjoyed them all. I sunk a lot of time into the TimeSplitters series back in the day...

fun fact: disc does not contain entire season pass contents, only the first episode or something with the rest being downloadable later.
In other words, this is Telltale wanting to get everyone's money just in case Minecraft fades into obscurity by the time the series is over.

My dad likes to shame me into doing the work. Vaguely sucks because I can't just take my car through one of those automatic washes 'cause of the soft top. Only washing/waxing half a car tho because of it so I can't complain too much, I just don't feel like doing it. And haven't for the last month of needing to do so lol.

Just lower the soft top and get an interior wash at the same time.

Holy crap I didn't know they announced Gundam Extreme Vs. for the vita.  Looks like it will have Engrish subs for the Asian version.  Definitely one of my day one imports.  Damn I also want that blue vita.  Definitely getting the version at Gamestop.
