This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

Even if a game uses no default RPG Maker assets, as a buyer I still want to know if the engine is RPG Maker. It's an old engine and has some limitations like low resolution, no Steam overlay (so no screenshots; not easily anyhow), Windows only, etc.

There are some games with custom engines on Steam that could be mistaken for RPG Maker that aren't so besides the whole asset thing, I think it's useful info just to know if a game is made in the RPG Maker engine period.

*Edited to add: Oh and 'jejeje' @ Tomasety's spontaneously perfect English for that review.

You get two free keys if you review the game, plus the one you used to review it

So hit those a holes up for the keys and don't let them Bobby them.

I really expected at least one of us to have half assed one by now. I guess we all really are that fucking lazy. Not really surprising since we don't even play our games so I suppose I shouldn't have expected us to make one, even if a totally lazy phoning it in paint by the numbers 4dummiez with no skillz construction kit fauxSNES game.

Unity asset flips are atleast as problematic as the rpgmaker garbage. But Unity has been used to make some visually impressive games, and the flipped stuff gives it a bad reputation.

A Unity game, Dreamfall Chapters, has good visuals, although I am waiting for the Unity 5 update to improve the performance in the hub areas. Hard to believe great titles like that and Cities Skylines, among many others, are from the same engine that pumps out Greenlight fodder.

That SSP guy sure does know how to Severose.

EDIT:

WTF, I find this far more unbelievable. Ain't no way Tom's english is that good
His English is so good, he changed his name, nationality, and had RPGFan post it two years ago.

That Goat Sim bundle smells like a trap.  Next Humble for sure... oh who am I kidding.  Next Humble will have half a dozen shitty RPG Maker games.

I will admit to roughly taking a conversation from this forum and thinking about a good RPG...

"Please hero, you need to find the game... but only if it's on sale"

"That game sucks hero, the game you seek is in another castle"

"This game doesn't have cards? Forget that (throws down sword and walks away"

"Sorry hero, you need more VRAM before you can enter this dungeon"

"See these muscles? I made them myself!" (HAhahahahaah, now that's a good joke)

"Did I hurt the whore hero's feelings?"

"Congrats hero. You actually played the game. You are now banned."

I've actually got like three or four different game ideas in my head: Two adventure games, and a really long RPG, but since Adventure Game Studio is a pretty crappy engine when it comes to localization, and the RPGMaker dev team thinks PC RPGs shouldn't be any bigger than 640x480, I've resigned myself to not do anything until I learn how to program my own engine.

Or win the lottery so I can hire a good dev team to do the work.

Most of my game ideas are lol retro and RPG Maker crap too, because I'm lazy like the rest of the devs who make them and put them on greenlight

I can be unoriginal too.

One of my other ideas is a WW II FPS.

"What's the DRM?"

"Does it work offline?"

"Is it online only?"

"Or can it be played either online or offline (like Diablo 2 + Torchlight 2)?"

I've thought about making a game, but then I thought I'm not playing the ones I buy; how am I going to find the time to make anything? Last thing I need is a game-making backlog.

Is anyone playing Ark?  I can't figure out the story of the game. They just offer "you're on this here island named Ark, and you're fucked".

Just finished the novel: SevenEves by Neal Stephenson and it feels like the game picks up where the novel ends. ... maybe it's just wishful thinking???.

Oh gawd, out of a bajillion Steamgifts raffles I entered lately, guess which one I just won with only less than one in 1,000 chance?

I should see if there's a Spanish gaming site somewhere with a review for it that I can 'borrow'.

Google Translate, my friend. Google Translate. Used by professionals in America for years.

No, but I've seen a thousand screen shots by Bruticus which usually look like the side of a warehouse, a random view of a garage door or a bunch of dinosaurs standing in a row.
Personally, I am impressed how he color coordinated his outfit to his dinosaur saddle.

Sorry to talk about games in this thread but I just want to say Mad Max is a GotY contender. You all really need to take advantage of those bargain basement CD Keys deals.

I wonder if it'll brick down even further soon.

It's $30 on IndieGala (50% off) already - and it ain't even been out that long.

Speaking of, that one dude never did come back and say if CDKeys ever gave him a working key or what the "invalid" error was from Steam.

Also, we'll let you talking about games go this time since at least you weren't talking about game deals.

From what I gather, it's some sort of planet that tests your "survivability". That being said, they don't have a story (yet). Thats what they're working on. They're adding new biomes and whatnot and adding a SP story. What it will be? Who knows... I liken it to the cake tests in portal. What's the point? Ultimately there isn't one.

So uh Bundle Blitz

I especially like how they can't seem to agree on the actual date for We(d)nesday nor the spelling for that matter.

Oh and you may already own it. If so let this be a lesson to you to not moran 10-30 cent trash. Free or GTFO.

*Edited to add: Oh and since I know you were all wondering, yes they used a stock photo again.
