Last night I was able to play some real pinball which seemed like ages. Played some Tales from the Crypt, Star Wars (Data East), The Getaway (This table is so addicting), Taxi and Demolition Man. Cireone took 1st place in all the games we played which never surprises me.

I'm ready for another Pinball Arcade tournament.

Apparently there was also licensing issues with the original soundtrack, so the PSN version is going to have a completely new soundtrack. Never heard of that for game before, but I guess its a thing that can happen now too. There's details on the blog if y'all are interested.

#hoops
Soundtrack licensing issues have been around for a while for games. Crisis Core and the KH games supposedly were affected by this.

I have hit useless Friday afternoon mode.

The bad part is that I have already made up my mind what I am getting to drink tonight as well as what I am taking to a friend's party tomorrow to drink.  I don't know why I thought that would take longer.

Tonight: Cigar City Night Apparently

I guess reading stuff online about college football will have to get me by the next few hours.

I hate games that don't allow you to save anywhere, or at least have frequent auto-saves.

No, I don't want to go back to town to find an inn to rest/save. No, I don't want to keep playing for a half hour and hope there's a save area at the end of this stage.

unfortunately that is the best part of AC3.
Maybe it's just the AC contrarian in me, but I think it's been decent so far. There have been some annoying optional objectives and I wish there were a few more fast travel points in the wilderness. It has been more engaging and varied than Revelations (the last AC game I played) which got to be pretty samey in the second half of the game.

The glitchiness of it (more so than any AC game I ever played) and the fact it seemed to take forever to get anywhere turned me off a ton. I hated it with a passion. Mostly because I was so hyped to play Colonial America and it let me down.

I actually liked the part that Pitfall spoilered below too. Still didnt save it for me. Was glad once I finished the story and threw it away (traded).

I didn't hate it like most people. The part where (prior to playing as Connor spoiler)
Haytham is revealed to be a Templar blew my brain to bits.
I had somehow stayed unspoiled from that despite not playing it until over a year after release, and I didn't see it coming at all. That's still one of my top moments from the series.

sometimes it seems like everyone just played the intro and when the intro concluded and the actual game started everyone was all like 'well fuck this' and just stopped playing. it's a totally fine AC game with some decent setpieces. same with unity - 'oh fuck this, it's buggy' but the game was really good. I think by AC3 everyone was just sick of the series and didn't want to admit it. Then AC4 came along and then boat combat and everyone was happy again.

I found some gameplay of syndicate this morning from a week ago where ubi hosted some streamers. it really looks like it's trying to be batman. which might be painful, but after having essentially the same combat for however many iterations maybe it'll be a nice change. there was a point where the guy was overwhelmed so he did something that made a wacky electricity burst stunning everybody and then he swung around and pistol shot two guys and stabbed another. that brought the hype meter way up for me. then I watched him do some stealth and stagecoach driving and my AC stiffy retreated back to where it should be.

Yes, I somehow avoided getting that spoiled for me too (or I forgot in the interim), which I find amazing given it's been out for almost 3 years. I didn't see it coming either.

I really want to like the stagecoach sections as long as they dont make them really long and drawn out. If they are shorter sequences to break up the regular gameplay I am all for it. I am excited for this game.

Excited for Syndicate and taking two days off from work to play it. So it will be shit and I will hate it. #confirmed

Oops. Probably shouldn't have opened that spoiler to see what I thought was gonna be a minor thing. My bad.

Yes, having to work that hard searching through the tunnels to unlock fast travel shortcuts in the city was a pretty questionable design choice. I think it took me like an hour and a half to unlock all the Boston underground exits.

they remind me (surprise surprise) a bit of the arkham knight segments where you chase the big vehicles in the batmobile - it looks like there's a chance you can end them quickly but more than likely other random stuff will get in your way (other stagecoaches, street obstacles) and slow you down. regardless, I'm ready.

Oh man, stage coach sections, I hated the stage coach sections in Revelations.

I got my new TV set up yesterday and checked out some 4K videos from Amazon and Youtube. Damn is all I gotta say. The colors looked fantastic and the detail was insane. I'm about to get my systems set up on it and see how it performs with gaming.

On the AC website, they have dumb activities you can do for credits to get prizes. All the physical prizes are gone, but they have in-game items like weapons packs and different outfits. The activities are just answer questions or click through to articles or videos that you don't have to actually read or watch.

I got these before they were sold out:

The foam is actually pretty hard. Now I just need to find someone to punch.

Seems pretty clear cut choice if your grading on quality of games instead of what was new to you at the time it was PS+.

Super clear cut to me, and I owned a lot of the bigger games. But the retail versions of course, so I could make a tidy profit reselling them.

Finding my way out of the forest was hard enough I was already over all the glitchiness by the time I got to Boston that unlocking the underground broke me. I get into these moods with games. Once I start hating a game I am pretty much set to hating it and nothing can turn me around. I mean really hating too. Like Spelunky. fuck that game.

I don't know. I'm having a real hard time picking in this one. But part of that is there's a bunch of games I've not played so I don't know if they are good or not.

I am predicting No Man's Sky will be boring as fuck.  Cainiac and a ton of others will like it but it looks like a boring, lifeless game to me.  Pretty (sort of) but boring and lifeless and a lot of the planets will end up being the same like Helldivers.

I agree on what you say, but not your choice on which one is the easy one on the first batch. Poker Night 2 is the only game I would play from the second list in the first vote and it was a buggy mess from what I understand.

Limbo, Sound Shapes, and GoW Ascension were good games (even if Ascension is the worst of the series, it was still fun).

Not an easy poll to me as none of the games were stand outs other than Hotline Miami and GoW (I agree it is the worst in the series though).

I went with Oct. 2013 just because of Hotline Miami. But I haven't played the Lara Croft one (and I liked the first one) and I haven't played Stealth Inc. 2 (and I liked the first one). So maybe I should have picked Aug 2015. The second set I just went with the crowd. #conformist

I think it will be an amazing tech demo for technology to be used in better, future games.

It just needs one civilized planet with a strip club. Mark it on your map.

Soundshapes is supposed to be good, but since it comes with none of the DLC you have to rebuy the ultimate edition to get that sweet, sweet extra trophy action anyway. Now that it's been a PS+ game you might even be locked out of getting that bundle now (the UE was $4 when I bought it). GoW: Ascension is so massive (34 GBs) it's almost preferable to keep the disc version. Also Limbo PS4 was a quasi-repeat since the vita version was previously a PS+ game.
