At least you are going to a brewery.
Just to update you since I'm sure you've been dying to know, the brewery last night didn't let us pick the beers for the flight. I enjoyed all of them. I didn't taste a whole lot of difference between their Belgian style and other beers I've had, but my palette is pretty shitty.

Also wasn't able to sample the Ould Funk since it wasn't on tap and was only sold in $12 bottles. Maybe I'll go back to get one some day.

Brewery tonight has a dark chocolate coconut stout. I'm scrrd. But it's another great deal from Groupon. Tasting for two, two 750mL growlers, and two take-home pint glasses for $24.

Why are you scared of that? I would be since I am not a coconut fan, but I am guessing you are just scared of stouts?

Up to Mission 19 on MGS5 now. Game is long. I kind of don't care. It's a blast to play. Making progress, slow and steady...I think once I'm done I'll celebrate by playing through Alan Wake and sell off my 360 afterwards :) Bye Bye M$.
According to the end-of-mission summary screen, I've been playing for 70 hours and I have 39% total completion after finishing Ep. 22.

At this rate, I'll still be playing MGS V through Black Friday. No complaints here.

While I've been pretty vocally beating up on Nintendo lately I'll admit I want to see where they go next. I do like the idea of a console\handheld hybrid. I hope they really do something special again and it would be nice to see them get some 3rd party support again. The one major problem I see though is no PSN trophies.

Not scared of stouts. I like some stouts.

Scared of coconut flavors.
I can not eat coconut at all. The texture is what really gets me though. I like some beers with it as a flavor if it is not too pronounced. Hopefully you will be similar and can enjoy it if it is not too over the top.

A local pair of friends who are looking into doing their own brewery (and make excellent beer) do a thing where they fill whole coconuts with their beer for fests. Most people I know go ape shit over it. To me it ruined a world class beer. There is a picture of it on their twitter feed.

If anything we've just been getting hammered with long open world games and it seems like more and more are coming. I'm finally at the point where I realize some games just have to play a back seat or get skipped all together. I actually put Batman down to play Metal Gear. I will definitely go back to it, but with already limited time it's only getting harder with 40-100 hour long games. I use to avoid them but it's getting harder and harder. Alan Wake after Metal Gear might be a nice breakup before diving back to Batman since I wasn't very far in anyway.

That looks and sounds weird. But if people are into then I can't blame them for doing it. It's certainly a unique idea.

I like "Photograph" by Nickelback.

when I was in 4th grade or so this girl named sasha introduced me to def leppard, guns n roses, poison - all that kind of stuff.  she would take her older brother's tapes and we'd listen to them.  it was a delightful sharing of music between young friends learning about the immense world of rock music.

then her 80s metal-as-shit brother thought I was in to her so he chased me up a tree and I sat up there for an hour until they went in to eat dinner.

Octopus' garden is weird but OK...and Don't pass me by on the white album is good! That's about it for the Beatles days....and yay Weezer again! I'm seeing them December 10th

If you don't want to bang her after watching this video...I think she's so hot and can't wait to see her live ;)

It's a good day when the thread gets littered with def leppard videos.

Tonight I get to go see boys life/giants chair so the day is only going to get better. I didn't get a chance to see them when KC still had a functional indie scene.

The hardest part will be staying awake until 1.

That reminded me of one of my buddies from college who I stayed friends with afterwards. He had a copy of a VHS tape of him when he was a kid, his younger brother and some other kids in their neighborhood doing their version of 1986 WWF in Preston's Pit. It was hilarious and I wish I had a copy of it.

This Tues I'm seeing Blur @ The Hollywood Bowl.

I can't wait to see them.

The song Ghost Ship from the new album is sooooo badass.

it's not for everyone. I started in high school when there were still a couple all ages dives in the city. a classmate of mine was in the get up kids and a friend (who's going with me tonight) got me wise to all the other cool stuff that was going on at the time. I was hooked. when I went to KU I didn't really have any friends so I just started going to shows most nights of the week (unfortunately this is also when I started smoking, oops). after that I was playing shows too so I was going to just as many and playing a few a month and it was really really really fun. I'm pretty happy with how my 20s turned out.

it became a lot harder to nut up and go out once I was in my 30s and had kids so I was glad the local scene had dried up so thoroughly. it's hard not to miss it though.

Someone's head's going to explode since I realized ZHP is on the list.  The long international nightmare...is over.
