Two bowls of Count Chocula this morning. I feel like such a fatty.
I love this time of year when Count Chocula hits store shelves. The wife bought a couple of boxes last weekend, and then I bought a couple at Target the other day. The only problem is the kids have discovered there in the house, so one box is already gone; I only had one bowl out of that box.

I also love this time of year because of Candy Corn and raiding the kids Halloween baskets in a few weeks.

There's a new heart icon thing in the store:

It's a Wishlist.
Does it notify you if there is a sale on the item?

One thing I can tell you for sure is that if you buy something that is in your wishlist, it doesn't remove it from the wishlist. Nice!
This is not a surprise.

Steam has had a wishlist for ages now and only now fixed it so that games activated on the account would remove themselves from the wishlist.

Just got the no-death Hell (Light World) trophy in SMB. I like how almost every SMB trophy is worth more than a typical downloadable game's entire trophy list on TT--it makes earning each one a small victory.

I didn't know Super Mario Bros. had trophies! There's a hell level too! Wow.

Sorry guys, I'm bored and fuck work.

I don't like that Hyper Light Drifter is absent from that list. :whistle2:k

Amplitude is supposed to be out in December, but it sounds like there are so many issues with RB4 that I can see Amplitude getting delayed until next year.

I'm looking forward to Nuclear Throne, but they just keep working on it on Steam Early Access and I'm starting to wonder if they're every going to consider it done and put it on PSN.

Finally plat Jake and Finn Investigations. Not the best game but an enjoyable experience besides the whole extra playthrough because I missed a collectible.

Also started Primal Carnage a couple of days ago.  While I haven't hit full buyers remorse, it's getting there.   It's one of those "it's so shitty, it's good(?)" kind of games.

I played Chasm a bit at a kiosk as well. Seemed like a pretty solid side-scroller. Handled well and I do like the style. They do want to put it on Vita as well, which would be a great fit, but things are still waiting on a MonoGame port process to be developed by somebody.

How many games are waiting on Mono? Axiom Verge, Broforce, Chasm, anything else?

If you think you have buyers remorse at all then it isnt so shitty its good. Its just shitty. Like Deadly Premonition.

BOOM!

fuck that. Other people are the worst.
The intent was more that other people could buy games for me, actually.

Running Man the movie bore absolutely no resemblance to the original story. Same with Lawnmower Man, actually; the Stephen King short story was about some weird crazy fat dude that went around eating grass and also ate the homeowner.; the movie was a weird sci-fi thing that had Pierce Brosnian treating Jeff Fahey with an experimental treatment to make him smarter. Fahey's character turns into some kind of internet monster along the lines of the recent Transcendence movie with Johnny Depp.

I never did finish AC Unity. Evidently I don't have anything to catch up on for the modern day story line before trying Syndicate? Count me among those who were bummed that they don't focus on that as much. I was excited for the eventual build to a modern day/near future environment.

Well the main problem I have with it is that is entirely a multiplayer game but I'm having trouble finding a game on most modes besides TDM. Also when I do find a match it can get extremely laggy. ugh

Maybe they're just going to continue the modern day storyline in the numbered entries and next year will be ac5. ac4 had some stuff, right? They are still inching towards the present with every entry. It'll get weird if they continue that, but they've shown a bit of what it could be like in unity with those weird side missions.

It's a Wishlist.
Nice, I had been hoping they would eventually introduce a wishlist feature to make it easier to track new games which look interesting, but that I am waiting on a sale. I wonder if the next step is to allow people to buy games from other player's wishlist for them. If you go to your wishlist you can set it so your friends can see it.

Not sure why people would be worried about a modern day Ass Creed.  They will eventually get to it and since its make believe they can do whatever they want to tie it into any of the past games.  Whether they have modern day shit in every game is irrelevant since they could make the modern day game really cool or really shitty either way.

AC is to third person fans what CoD is to first person fans: a tried and trued formula, which is mediocre and keep roping in suckers over and over again.

If it's tried and true, why would anyone be a sucker for buying it? They know exactly what they're getting and will be satisfied. I certainly wouldn't call recent AC/CoD games fresh or innovative, but I wouldn't call them mediocre either. They are well made games (Unity fiasco notwithstanding) with huge budgets and development teams. I pick up Call of Duty every year and I know I'm getting I high quality twitch shooter. I haven't been disappointed yet (ok.. Ghosts didn't do a lot for me).

Ya know, Ive always wondered if the senile old cook knows he is the basis for one of the most consistently used internet memes of all time?

In fact, it might be the GOAT meme.

STFU came from out of nowhere to become my runner-up Indie GotY (Axiom Verge still holds the crown). It was just so creative from a gameplay and story perspective, plus the humor seemed almost Rick and Morty-like and awesome. It isn't perfect--a few of the later HellaDeck levels can get annoyingly difficult and the controls are a bit floaty/slippery--but it was an incredibly fun time.

The acquisition percentages for a lot of the trophies don't make sense, though, because most of them aren't very hard to obtain.

I feel very strongly about annualized games and call them mediocre as they're just cosmetic changes/no risks involved. I feel very badly burned by AC because after Brotherhood, they took a dive where nothing was good (except Black Flag and fuck the mp mode).
The potential for the history stuff and gameplay from AC1 wasn't truly realized. Both franchises have made me regret buying recent entries (Unity was worse than 3 by a mile) and Ghosts was horrible. I look forward to Blops 3 due to zombies and yes, it makes me a sucker. I think Ubi presents insane tech demos and the games just can't be that (ACs crowd potential, Watch Dogs hacking, The Division).
