Murdered: Soul Suspect is an excellent game, something like a mix between LA Noire and Beyond: Two Souls.  Well worth it at that price.

Speaking of which, Frisky, it looks like you have the wrong price listed in your post.  It's showing up at $5.80 here.

Would anyone recommend Slender: The Arrival to someone who's not 13 and into the memes surrounding its main character?

RER2 Moira can't die either in my experience but she can be knocked down and rendered useless if she thinks she can go Lu Bu with that crowbar.

There is an extra chapter where you both can play as gunners. It is, in my opinion, better than Raid Mode as it's largely intense combat doled out quickly, but also with enough variety to be replayable. Feels like RE5 Desperate Escape.

Raid Mode is largely a loot/stat grind repeat forever sort of thing. It feels like something you play to pass the time. I'd rather play RE5 Mercs again than Raid but the core shooting in RER2 is good enough to carry that sort of loot grind stat grind bullshit for mindless fun.

Playing Rocket League for the first time to get the Halloween goodies and I see why everyone went nutso over it.

I wouldn't go anywhere near that far having played it twice. It's a decent atmospheric adventure game with a good enough story if you're interested in it's paranormal theme.

Missed that announcement so I need to get on that and yep, best :ps4: PS+ game imo.
Been playing about an hour and gotten 4/6 and having a blast.

And in case it wasn't mentioned the PS blog is apparently having a teaser trailer for some big update to the game tomorrow and the next day they'll be streaming whatever it is.

I'm okay with the fact that Driveclub Bikes isn't included in the Season Pass. But it is weird that the Expansion is not available at a discount for those who own the physical disc. Looks like disc-owners have to buy the Standalone version.
Expansion: https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/addons/driveclub-bikes-expansion/cid=UP9000-CUSA00093_00-XXXXXXXXXDCBIKES
Standalone: https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/driveclub-bikes-standalone/cid=UP9000-CUSA00093_00-XXXXXXXXBIKESADD
This has been fixed for disc owners. Expansion shows up for $14.99 now.

You thought it was only decent but played all the way through it twice?
Well when for some reason PSN didn't sync the third to last trophy in the game (but synced the last two) and has denied you the platform you autopilot through it in like 3 hours while watching something else So, so stupid that was. Lesson learned, make sure to check that all your trophies have synced before changing HDDs.

I didn't have a PS3 the last two halloween sales, did I?
i don't know, did you? just letting you know they were on sale the last two halloweens

or perhaps you could've bought them when they were on ps2 and xbox 10+ years ago

Frisky, just an FYI that RE:R2 on Vita is not on sale, shows regular price of 29.99. The PS3 and PS4 versions do show 14.99 on sale for the complete season.

If it were cross buy I'd pick it up immediately, but none of the versions cross over, sadly.

Ouch!

Amen. 360 was hardly better but the ps4 shop interface is staggeringly bad in dozens of dumb little ways.
Is Valve the only company that can figure this crap out?
Steam can constantly evolve.

The transition from PS3 to PS4 requires completely new firmware, starting from scratch. While to people who don't work in IT this might seem like 'ok, fine -- do everything right this time!' in practice it means you launch with it bare bones [fewer points of failure at launch] and then roll out updates over time.

Now, the good news is the infrastructure/codebase can be planned out better, with lessons learned and new ideas planned for [say, 'communities'] but that doesn't mean they're easy or we get them right away.

Steam, on the other hand, isn't shifting devices in the same way so has the luxury of evolving over many years without needing to be 'rebooted'. In theory, eventually, this can eventually bite Steam in the ass when they've got [theoretically] decades of byzantine legacy code holding them back. But in the short/medium term they've got an advantage.

Does anyone know which version of Silent Hill Origins is superior: PSP or PS2?

They're not reinventing the wheel. A lot of the console fundamentals ought to have been hashed out by now. They have three separate store interfaces active right now that are all uniquely terrible from a usability standpoint for entirely different reasons.

Yes, it's not going to be perfect, I get that, but we don't make excuses like that for Microsoft Windows, who shift paradigms and cover bases far more vigorously than Sony does.

Hard to say. I think I played it first on PS2 way back when it was released and played it more recently on PSP. I don't think there are any major differences... As far as I know/remember, the PS2 version is pretty much a straight port of the PSP version with a graphic facelift (improved character models, some improved objects, higher res, etc), which might be a point in favor of the PS2 version, although I do remember some people complaining that the PS2 version was too dark. I'd say it's probably best to base your decision on whether you want to play it on a TV or handheld.

And there went two hours of my life without realizing it.  Wish I had given Rocket League the time when it was the hot new thing.

Well, if it's any consolation, the developer expressed some regret about giving the game away for free with PlayStation Plus after seeing its runaway success. Since you're playing it just now, it's almost like you didn't get it for free. You absolved him from his regret.

I did get it through PS+ but I'm probably going to buy the DLC just because it is great and to toss them a bone.

Honestly though it wouldn't have been that big of a hit though if it was $20 and no one had ever heard of it. So sure you lost some money now but a lot of people probably bought DLC just out of appreciation for the game and down the road you've got Sony's support probably and no worries about developing your next game.

Of course, no one could predict how well it would have done if it hadn't been free with PS+. It's a tough call for developers who are courted by Sony or MS for this stuff.

I do think it would have sold pretty well on its own. Conversely, something like The Deer God on Xbox One probably would have had pretty shitty sales. So Crescent Moon probably made the right move there.

Regardless, I hope Rocket League is profitable overall with whatever they got from Sony and the paid DLC. It deserves all it can get.

Well this looks pretty neat (and I'm sure I missed Frisky post it earlier):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LL2gW7hmXu4

Seems like a positive slanting portrayal of a Detroit that's been revitalized down the road.  There's a few iconic locations in the trailer so they seem to be capturing the spirit too.

While watching, I was like "this looks like Heavy Rain & Beyond Two Souls, this gotta be a QD game", then I see its from them. Yep, that's day one.

And Windows gets a lot wrong too? I don't see how that changes anything. And you're right, there is a lot 'hashed out' but you still need to recode it all and that's no easy feat. You can't cut & paste, and, in fact, since you're starting fresh you try to build the infrastructure even better to support those new features.

I don't agree that any are 'uniquely terrible'.... I love the vita OS, I really like the pS4 OS, and the ps3 OS suffers from not having enough dedicated resources.

it's based off of that demo called "Kara" from years ago, i remember being disappointed we were getting Beyond Two Souls instead but looks like we are finally getting the game

Meh, didn't bother to download Rocket League when it was free. The DeLorean DLC looks cool, but unless they're adding KITT from Knight Rider, it's not enough to get my interest.

Just a reminder, Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles confirms that Leon and Claire were drunk off their asses during RE2. Video related: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wUng4g3ZvY&feature=youtu.be&t=436

(For those who don't watch the video, the camera drifts everywhere CONSTANTLY. It's not a particularly good light gun game on the merits but adding that garbage in, it's just awful. Umbrella Chronicles is at least playable with much less of that crap. But you already have Dead Space Extraction, TC:Razing Storm+Deadstorm Pirates+TC4, and HotD3 and 4 to shop for so if you NEED to justify owning that Move, you have far, FAR better options than RE:UC and DC. Sadly none of the good stuff is on sale...)
Isn't that Umbrella Chronicals and NOT Darkside that you play RE2.

I still can't beat the RE3 portion.

Link? They seemed to fully embrace the decision they made to take the PS+ money when having more of a focus on the DLC afterward. The game took off because it was free on PS+, so people could try it without much risk and evangelize it to PC players that were on the fence if not totally oblivious that it even existed.

They were interviewed in the Game Informer issue with Dark Souls III on the cover. They said it wouldn't have been as popular as it is without PS+ but they still expected the game to be a hit, and that they would like to sell the game on Xbox One. They also note that they want the game to become an eSport but there's too many organizations doing their own thing.

I've bought and will continue to buy all of the Rocket League DLC for this very reason.

My ps3 keeps telling me I need to verify my ps visa card info but then rejects it. Is anyone else having issues paying?

Seems to be a common problem as of late. I've run into the same issue as well and have resorted to just buying PSN credit off of Amazon until Sony fixes things up.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/10/28/mix-match-and-mutate-in-rocket-league-this-november/

The big announcement for Rocket League is that they'll be adding Mutators to the game in a few weeks. Mutators let you mess with many settings when setting up matches to create cool, unique match types. They'll even have special playlists to cycle through them for a concentrated dose of weirdness. I'm guessing that these will be in addition to the current playlists, so it won't change the pure Rocket League style.

Since we have the RE/RE0 remaster disc release coming up next year @ $40:

http://www.amazon.com/Resident-Evil-Origins-Collection-PlayStation-Standard/dp/B014KXMDPC

Any reason to wait on RE PS4 since it's $12 for PS+ versus waiting on the disc release with RE0? Even with RE0 coming out at $20 on release, it would match the current GCU price for the RE/RE0 physical release.
Physical will always get cheaper - faster? Memory storage concerns? It'll look pretty on your shelf?

So basically, Left 4 Dead's "mutations". Cute little nod.

I'm assuming Left 4 Dead called it that first, could be wrong.

All of this. Particularly the first point. Capcom can't fight discounts as hard as they can with digital. I'm waiting too.

Hopefully RE2's remake isn't included in a set with either of those.

Didn't Unreal Tournament first have mutators before L4D?

I guess I'll pass on RE and wait out the physical release. RE Rev 2 looks like it's about as cheap as it's going to get digital?
